The speaking samples might be of just 40-45 s length as opposed to the 60s speaking time given in the exam. But when are actually facing the exam, it would be a different scenario. We will pause, think, ponder... that will eat up the remaining 15 sec. Moreover these samples are to give us an idea of the basic template. Not to reproduce them as they are in the exam. In the exam, we will be required to be spontaneous. I thank the video makers for providing useful tips and practice.
these videos are really useful . thanku so much .. i learned how to speak, i felt the conversations n lectures are very quick. but its good to get such training,..
In a way or another, Thank you so much, I really appreciate your effort for sharing these videos regardless of the accent used or the images displayed. AT THE END YOU WANTED TO HELP PEOPLE ! so thanks again.
Thank you!! I got a "GOOD" level on this question. I played these samples, practiced, and.......... got my 26 points!! Now sky is the limit!!! Thank you!!!
First of all, thanks for examples!!! There are two mistakes. First, in this question we have only 20 seconds to prepare not 30 and second, sample answers are too short (40-45 s) and i think it will reduce the score(((
I noticed that about the length as well, but I do agree with honey77711 in that with natural pauses added in, it would be okay. These are probably written and then read, so it's much shorter. Totally forget about the prep time difference. Thanks!
Yes, they are . But if you include errors in the samples, there is a chance the students will think these errors are correct English. Better to present students with an answer without errors for them to imitate, so they don't have to figure out where the errors lie.
what if i speak too slow and did not finish what I suppose to say. Is it right that I just need to show them I understand the conversation. Cause I did not say my opinion!
The guy speaks too fast and I think most students here are looking for something can help them and push them forward not to make them feel negative and make the answer harder on them ... I believe , If I were u , then I would speak slowly and clearly .... thank you anyway for ur efforts .
Great for Toefl preparation indeed... but... I seriously LOLd when the "broken computer" pic appeared XD ... I guess he really didn't want to finish his work
In my opinion this is American English. But like probably most of you I am not a native speaker. btw what could the guys at the helpdesk possibly do? He did not save his files, his computer broke down... possibly because smashed his keyboard against the screen lol this does not make any sense to me :)
When I listened the sample answer first. I thought maybe the speaker has some problem with his mouth.. or whatever.... come on.. is it really what you think that is foreigner's english accent?
are u kidding me! the answers looked so short to me so I checked one and found only to be 37s. poor stuff. and also the guys sounded like his tongue has been made twisted!
Aren't the Sample Answers way too perfect?? This test is taken by people whose native language is not english. I expected to detect some accent, but they are all british and american etc...i bet no one speaks so perfectly if given such a short time for preparation.

@MsJacktheripper22 question 5 is always a conversation between two people who are discussing solutions to a problem
in an actual toefl test, i can't make an answer like these..
even a sample answer sounds perfect for me lol
nice
Actual toefl does not give 30sec to prepare, right?
actual toefl test will give 20 seconds to prepare in question 5
damn!! I used the longman preparation..and it's true!! very different that this question...
very relevant to actual toefl, i guess.
the woman appearing in the video is so disturbing. I had to close my eyes whenever it appears in order to keep my mind on the track.
how was the exam??
If that breaks your heart, stay the hell away from the news!
Great for Toefl preparation indeed... but... I seriously LOLd when the "broken computer" pic appeared XD ... I guess he really didn't want to finish his work
One thing I'm pretty sure is that the sample answer would definitely get a low mark.
thanks a lot!!!
