Say hi to let me know you were here!
Hi is it improve the performance especialy for ps1?
I haven't run any issues but I haven't tried very many
Hi
Have you found that when you hit the reset button, that the whole unit freezes and you have to unplug the battery then replugging it in to get it to work properly, since adding the Rogue firmware? And how do you resolve this issue?
Great video, well presented and informative - thanks for the info and tutorial.
Thanks so much for watching!
Oh also I just remembered, if you don't like the OpenDingux UI you should check a small UA-cam channel called "MashTec" he has made a video about how to install EmulationStation (the Retropie, Recalbox and Batocera front-end) and set the RG350 to boot directly into it, it looks really great ! He has also done a ton of great video about the system like "How to install RetroArch" or "How to use Wifi on the RG350", It's a great channel if you like the RG350 :D
That's great! Thanks for the tip! :)
I started installing different emulators on my pocket go 2 and it uses the same opk's as the gcw zero and the rg350
Well most of the same there's some that were optimized for the rg350 but most of them work on the pocketgo 2
I installed 3do, retroarch and tried Saturn and pcfx and MSX I believe the retroarch messed up my system I was having problems and I had to put rogue firmware on it
I wasn't able to delete some things on the system memory card where I installed some emulaters using opendingux on my pocket go 2
And my external memory card was messed up
And became unreadable on my computer
@@PSVitaFan noice!
Thanks for showing the new cfw. Was thinking about doing it the other day.
Awesome!
I just downloaded the newest rogue firmware and everytime ive tried to save a ps1 game (only games Ive played since I got it,played 3 DIFFERENT games and it says save failed any tips on how to get this working again?
I followed every step of this up to inserting the imaged sd card back into the RG350 and nothing happens. I turn on the device and it's just a blank screen. It also will not turn off. HELP! IDK what to do.
Receiving error An error occurred when attempting to write data to handle. Error 5: Access is denied.
Great job on video but I have one problem confusion on emulator and game copying. thank you it helped a lot
trying to get game boy advance working, i have the bios and a thread i was on trying to get it to work, i came across you pointing out this video "i don't usually promote my own videos..." I am having the same problem with the bios
Nice vid. Any idea if theres a version of this for the PocketGo 2? AKA the "New Pocketgo"
Thanks!! I've seen people talking about it on Facebook, so I think there is a version of this for that device.
I followed DB Tech's instructions on my PG2 last night, and I can confirm that it works beautifully! I got the PG2-specific firmware here (github.com/Ninoh-FOX/POCKETGO2_ROGUE_CFW/releases/tag/v1.0.2). The 'slot1' SD card on a PG2 is on the outside, so that definitely made it easier to swap cards out. So far I am absolutely loving the look and little improvements of Rogue (especially tapping Power to put the screen to sleep).
You may need to reboot after loading up the card with the new firmware for the first time on the PG2. The first time I turned the system on with the new firmware on my card it went straight to the stock PG2 firmware screen. It also 'flickered' back to the Applications screen whenever I tried to tap L and R for different menus. I carefully navigated to Settings to power off, then turned it back on again. After that it loaded into the file expansion as shown at 6:40. I have turned the system on and off at least a dozen times since last night and still zero problems.
what format or install config to play ps1 games ?
Hi there, sadly this hasn't worked for me. Followed all the instructions but when I insert the SDcard I get a the rogue logo, followed by a line saying kernel table is too old/low and then it fades to black and nothing happens. For some reason the og SD card isnt being read now either so I'm in the process of flashing the OG firmware onto a new SD and hopefully that helps it.
Otherwise really good video. Hopefully I'm the only one with this problem.
*update*
I've tried again with the Flasher.OPK and that seems to have done the trick. Don't know why it wasn't working with this method, but I got it going. Thanks again for the video.
Awesome! Glad you got it sorted!
So I followed your instructions step by step and no roms are on so I am now stuck with nothing
How about 350m ... It keeps bricking when rouge install
Hi,
When you copy the localpak on the external SD Card where did you get the card from? Was it a new card or you have been using?
I bought a RG350 which came with a 32gb sd card full of games. Would I have to use a new blank SD card for the external slot instead of my 32gb SD Card that came with the device?
You can use the 32gb card that came with the RG350
@@DBTechYT won't that delete the 2500 games that are on the card?
Cool what’s new on this ?! Thanks for the vid
For me it's just little things for the user experience like showing a battery percentage rather than a battery image. Just little details like that.
@@DBTechYT Great video, thank you. Do you feel like the emulators run better or worse on Rogue vs OpenDingux?
I have the 1.5.1 firmware, but i dont want open my console, how do i install rogue???
I don't have an answer to that. There are a bunch of people in this Facebook group that might be able to help though: facebook.com/groups/bittboy
Hi when I downloaded the localpack it was just a file and not zipped what do I do?

At 13:03 I see redundant icons for the same APP. Is this an error? I have them too. How do we remove duplicate Icons?
I'm releasing a video today about skinning the RG350
@@DBTechYT - Thanks! Subscribed! - I have many of the gadgets already, form Raspberry PI, modded wii systems to home brewed desktop PCs and tablets.
check location /media/data/apps AND /media/data/sdcard/apps - simply remove duplicate :)
none of the links are in the description?..
Yeah they are. There's a link to the blog post where I've put all the instructions. I can confirm that more than 350 people have found it and clicked it without issue.
Hi from Brazil !!
Hi, Bruno!!
before installing this firmware I could just connect via ftp 10.1.1.2 to transfer files. now it's asking for a password. why?
you have to disable it on rg350
Thank you for the great step by step instructions. Worked just fine for me. Now I just need to see if I like Rogue. Looks promising though.
I like it for the extra touches like an actual battery percentage rather than just an icon
HI!!!! Is Rogue currently the best firmware to be on for the RG350?
Depends on what you want.
@@DBTechYT
Thanks for the fast response.....Purely games and emulators. I am currently following this tutorial and at the "Make SWAP file for first time,...." stage
Is there any difference between the Rogue cfw and RetroFW?
Probably but I don't know what as I haven't done anything with RetroFW yet
The reasom why I like this product is becoz it is creative, the design also.even though is a emulator gaming hamdheld consoles, but is good, believe the price are reasonable too.i will give a double tumb up.:-)
There is a version on Aliexpress with 10k games, have you checked it out?
I've seen them. They all claim a ridiculous amount of games.
great video friend a hug. but where did the Xmame emulator go
Download the extra opk files and install them. It should be in there.
Hi do you know how to make a opk file? Cause Im trying to do that.
no idea
Is there any benefit to using this over the built in software?
Little extra touches like battery percentage versus just having an icon. There are other things but it's the extra attention to detail overall
That's a lot of work for such a weird small thing in a device you should probabaly be not so concerned with ha
Which is the best between this and CFW 1.5 ?
I like this better because of things like showing actual battery percentage numbers and that sort of thing rather than just a half-empty battery with no idea where the battery really is. That's just an example, though.
@@DBTechYT Ok, thanks for your opinion, I will test these myself and choose the one that I prefer, but it's always interesting to have other people point of view. I'm currently waiting for mine (bought it for 74€ with a bag and a 32gig second SD card during the latest Aliexpress sales!) so I'm doing a lot of research during that time :)
That makes total sense. I've seen lots of people talking about this firmware, but I hadn't seen any videos on it. I really like the Rogue firmware just for the little details. You can read more about it here: github.com/Ninoh-FOX/RG350-ROGUE-CFW/releases/tag/1.7.9.4
This Firmware comes with analogues disabled,
so I went back to using the previous one
Dont recommend update because some psx games like mgs doesnt work or they have serious lags Like n4s 3... And they work excellent on 1.5 firmware
SOLVED!!! It is ok to update to rogue firmware just select right BIOS in psx setup power Button everything Works and there is RUMBLE support 😀😀😀
@@stan599 Is rumble support only on Rogue, or does it work on 1.5.1 or whatever the newest stock FW is?
@@grantman102002 hello... RUMBLE Works on on rogue... So in the game press power go to menu then to Core settings then turn off HLE emul BIOS then setup right BIOS then go to Analog mode and scroll right to Dualshock/A... And it should work
What size micro sd card can I add to this? Also where can I get ps1 rooms from?
I believe you can add up to a 128GB mirco SD card to this. You're going to have to Google where to get ROMs, though.
@@DBTechYT any specific roms i need. I'm a newby to all of this?
So roms are just individual game files. Each rom emulator will have a certain type of rom extension that it will work with. So basically you just need to find the roms (games) you want and then put them in the appropriate folders on the micro SD card
@@DBTechYT hi I followed your instructions and got to the part where it has rebooted and the rogue firmware is on. The second but I'm a bit confused. Do you take the sd card back out or do you use the original sd card that was in the device to put the local files folder on??? Please help
Think of the micro SD card as the operating system hard drive. If you take that one out and put the old one back in, you're going to go back to the old firmware. You have to leave the new micro SD card in if you want to stay on the Rogue firmware.
Thank you so much for such a well-made and helpful video! The steps (aside from having to open up the system) also work for the new PocketGo 2 device (same processor). I found the PG2 Rogue 1.0.2 firmware here: (github.com/Ninoh-FOX/POCKETGO2_ROGUE_CFW/releases/tag/v1.0.2). Keep up the good work!
Thanks for sharing this. I've had a few people ask about it!
Does it work on the 350P?
Also, why not format the drive within Windows? No SDCard Formatter necessary. (I do it with MiniTool Partition)
It's not touchscreen. Why oh why did you touch it?
Woops woops woops woops woops
Is the Amiga Emulator on this ?
I think so. I don't have any Amiga ROMs to test it, though.
@@DBTechYT OK thank you...
I think the best way is make a mod to use Retropie OS on rg350 ((because retropie is too optimized system emulator))
I've been thinking of trying retropie on here. I'll probably make a video about it soon :)
I bought a rg350 and have followed your tutorial on updating the firmware. I have tried (the non rogue) 1.5 and rogue from this tutorial. When I put the card and copy the files from the pack in the system, a ton of my emulators no longer function. They are on the system, they just don't function (when I open pcs4xall it seems to be like the file explorer and shows all of the file information). Have you run into this issue, do you know how to fix the emulators (that is just one, I think three of them are doing this)?
Replace the OPK files with the ones in the blog post link.
Also use the file explorer to navigate to the directory where your roms are for each emulator doing that.
This was the result from using this tutorial and those files (I tried with just the localpack files and the extra game files). Do you know if this might have any hidden files or a config file (in some other location)? I even went as far as connecting the device (with the original micro sd card and original firmware), to my computer and copying everything to my computer. I then put the newly flashed firmware in the device, copied all the original files back to the device (using explorer) and had the same results.
I finally figured out, how to fix this issue. Thanks for the guide.
You should be more specific when you are saying which folders go to which sd card
Can't please everyone
Are you related to Pete Dorr?
No
Hi
Hi! Thanks for stopping by :)
never yank a cable like that!
My modded switch makes this look INCREDIBLY stupid...seriously. Jeez. My condolences.
