You're awesome! I was just looking for an app such like this and couldn't find any. It's now been part of my "What's new?" routine to check your uploaded videos every once in a while. I know have 3 docker videos of yours in my queue to watch. Keep up the great work!
I tried the demo and perhaps I missed it but it would be nice to have a hyperlink to the part or supply for quicker ordering. I have an Excel spreadsheet for our three vehicles with a section for various maintenance activities ordered by current mileage, recommended intervals, and any extra notes. Another section has the part or supply item names, SKU, volume/number required, as well as a hyperlink, mostly to Amazon, to allow for quick reordering. Finally, there is a section with various torque specifications required for that vehicle. We put less than 12k miles on each vehicle so it's pretty easy to keep track of. 👍🏼👍🏼
I agree with you about the need for links. That's why I put them in the comments section of each upgrade/repair/etc. You could definitely open a feature request on their Github. Also, I totally get you as I've only put 6k miles on my car in the last year, but I hate trying to anything other than SUPER basic budgeting in spreadsheets, so this is a tool I've been wanting to find for a while :)
As a software developer I just can't understand how the creator thought that letting the user create the database schema is acceptable... I just can't...
The seems to be the norm. I didn’t even know that several apps that I’ve been running for years supported a postgresql backend! I recently migrated my apps from TrueNAS to PC running Debian , and I google search “app postgresql” for each one as I migrated it. Not all of them supported it, but most of them did. Maybe one of them created their own database, the rest I had to create the user and the database for each app.
Hey. As always, great tutorial! The links to docker-compose and env files are down (probably your argo tunnel is down), would you mind fixing it or reupload them somewhere else?
Is there a phone app that can enter data or is it all web based entry? Can you do a followup on how to remotely access the data entry, I use fuelly, would love to keep my own database local and be able to add all my vehicles to it so me and the family can update it. I always have to text the wife my miles/gallons to get fuel economy when I am out and about..would be great to just be able to open an app...plug it in and keep on keepin' on Thanks again for this great tutorial! Keep em coming!!!!
Just point your reverse proxy of choice to the IP and port of the application like you would with any other remote access. I use Cloudflare tunnels and was able to set up remote access in the amount of time it took me to deploy the Cloudlfare tunnel agent on my docker server.
Very cool. Love the docker videos. Can you do one for Tunarr? It's a new one I found that seems cool. From what I gathered, it emulates an HDHR tuner and you feed your plex content into it, and it feeds it back into Plex live TV so you can create TV channels with your own content. Was thinking of like "Saturday morning cartoons". It also allows filler content (commercials?)
I'll look into Tunarr, but the problem with the *arr apps is that a lot of the people on the backend of UA-cam just think that everything involving media stuff like Plex is piracy and will hit my channel with a community guideline strike for even talking about it. Their rules and enforcing the rules evenly across the community is sketchy at best. TorrentFreak did an article about my situation a while back: torrentfreak.com/how-youtube-policies-of-the-future-affect-creativity-today-231216/ That post/interview was a result of the video I made before that: ua-cam.com/video/JipFIrt3Pv8/v-deo.html
@DBTechYT Ah yeah I forgot. YT rule making seems to be on a case by case basis lol. Sad. Your videos have helped me tremendously in understanding docker, compose, docker networking, ect. You would think that something that is informative wouldn't be taken down just because people could use it for "bad". Truly sad. I appreciate you and your videos! 🙏
I appreciate your support! UA-cam's consistent inconsistency is what has kept me from making a bunch of different content over the last year or so. I need to just make the videos and put them up in different places other than UA-cam.
You read my mind. I'm juggling 4 daily drivers and 6 project cars. I mean to get around to looking for this exact kind of container but you saved me the trouble.

That seems like a great app to replace my Excel file! Will certainly give it a try.
Enjoy!
Literally was about to install this on my HomeLab but couldn't figure out where to start. This videos timing was PERFECT!
Outstanding!! I hope the video is helpful :)
Thank you again for sharing your time and expertise with us David. Much appreciated.
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment!! :)
Great job on your videos!
Thank you so much!
Thanks for this. I went very stripped down without Postgres etc. but I do like this app!
Looking forward to start using this to track things with our car.
Yo!! Whass up david!
Love your videos. Keep it going
Thanks!! Much appreciated! :)
@@DBTechYT NP.. looking forward for the next video. Also... room tour?!?! if possible
Interesting that you bring up a room tour. I've got some new stuff coming soon that will definitely get the ball rolling on that video :)
Thank you. 👍🏻

as much as this sounds like something I will end up loving, seems to much to mess with up front.
let us know once the main issues have been cleaned up
Changing of the Schema name of the db could basically done with one SQL on startup in a dedicated container that only rune once.
As a software developer I just can't understand how the creator thought that letting the user create the database schema is acceptable... I just can't...
I had the same thought. I just can't imagine why they didn't put that in the dockerfile

great video but I can't get the email part to work

Was performing maintenance. Have confirmed both files are available now

@@DBTechYT Yeah...I was thinking that too...cloudflare tunnels works incredibly well..use it for my audiobookshelf and vaultwarden service...

I cant delete a Vehicle? Did anyone came accross this error?
You'll want to check out the github for more info on that. I'm not 100% sure on that at this point
nice!
