I don't know why but whenever I'm imagining this scenario in my head i always think it takes place in late 2000s/early 2010's. (Maybe because that's when i was in high school) but John Mulaney was born in 1982 and since this was when he was in high school, which means he was between 14-18 years old. That means this happened sometime between 1996-2000. And now I'm just picturing all these kids but in late 90s fashion and that makes it alot funnier for some reason
