Just watched it on Netflix and loved it! Much better when they stay closer to the actual story.

I love this version cuz its much closer to original, yet its unique in its own way. Also this Beast is my favorite look of him of all the ones that ever appeared on screen.
But 3 things bothered me...
First: instead of giant Cgi statues at end (really ruined it for me) - director should have shoot more interactions between Beast & Belle (playing chess, cutting roses, whatever) - we didn't really get a true reason why Belle loves him, or how love developed.
Second: instead of Cgi mini dogs - they should have put parrots & monkeys like the original tale mentioned.
Third: Belles ring which she uses to return home/back to the castle
If those 3 were done like I listed, this would be my fave version. Sadly it isn't. 1991 is.
The dubbed voices are so bland... I saw this movie in Spanish (Spain) and its original French and they sounded beautiful.

Me too - this is the most handsome Beast ever to appear on screen. But, bcuz of Disney & prior Hollywood versions we are all used for Prince to be blond... so him being brown human with beard is a bit odd. Let him stay as a Beast 😍

Granted I know this will probably never be available in region 1 dvd, but will it ever be available of amazon or iTunes? In French with English subtitles or English dub, I do not care - I just want to watch it (over and over again).
I found it on amazon and Ebay- region 3- in English with Thai subs. Not that many around so keep checking. I have it in French from when it first came out and I just changed the region codes on my player.
Nooo the dubs ruin the vibe and feel of this film, it takes away all the emotion, just watch it with subs

This looks so much better than the stupid 2017 one...
I hated the English dubbed version. It sounded so fake and at some times, silly. I finally saw this subtitled and I highly recommend it to the former. I'm not opposed to dubbing, but the acting can be very different and change the overall feel of the movie. My only disappointment is that the music from the trailer was not actually part of the movie! =(

Okay, well I watch Disney films and outside of Disney to have a different persepctive. To each is own on their preference. Just because I made a comment about which one is better doesn't mean I don't like Disney. But I prefer that movie better than Disney's version.

I'm not one to usually notice when a dub is bad but holy crap, this dub is bland and forced. It sounds like the voice actors are rushing through their lines
I think its just this trailer. I have dubbed on my laptop & its far better than shown here. Ofc original French is the best one.
