    Beautiful construction. You make such a difficult technique look simple. I just might give it a shot. Nothing to lose!

    Hi there, love your tutorial. I’m a complete beginner but want to try this! Where would you recommend I find the pattern? I’ve found different designs on etsy (long skirt but sleeveless and another with the skirt but v-neck bodice) - can these be used and modified by hand? Thank you so much x

    • @RomyStanZakStudio
      @RomyStanZakStudio  4 місяці тому +1

      Hello ! I am sorry for this very late reply. I would suggest you try and find two separate patterns. One for the skirt part, and one for the top. For the skirt, qi would go for a 3/4 circle skirt which is very easy to find. And for a top a simple fitted top with sleeves that you can hack like I did in the tutorial. Hope that helps 🍁🍁

    Do you recommend making this in stretchy or non-stretchy fabric? If it’s stretchy, is it 2way stretch or 4way? Thank you!

    • @RomyStanZakStudio
      @RomyStanZakStudio  10 місяців тому

      Hello ! If you are a beginner, I highly recommend using stretchy material since it's more forgiving and the bust/sleeve pattern is easier. If you are a confident sewer then you can go with woven material and make the necessary adjustments for the sleeves (so you can lift your arms up ! 😀)

    • @RomyStanZakStudio
      @RomyStanZakStudio  10 місяців тому

      You can use 2 or 4 ways stretch. If you use 2 ways, make sure it stretches sideways on your design.

    Would anything change if cotton muslin is used instead of a knit?

    • @RomyStanZakStudio
      @RomyStanZakStudio  2 роки тому

      Yes, the shape of the sleeves would have to be slightly different, otherwise your arms would be very constricted 🌸🍃

    • @RomyStanZakStudio
      @RomyStanZakStudio  3 роки тому

      Hello 👋 I always recommend making and cutting out the pattern first on paper, and this way you’ll be able to measure exactly how much fabric you’ll need to buy 👍✂️

    Romy would this kind of skirt work with a woven fabric? To add volume could a petticoat work beneath it?

    • @RomyStanZakStudio
      @RomyStanZakStudio  4 роки тому +2

      Yes it would ! 😃You can even cut it in one piece if you find a fabric wide enough. And with a petticoat it would be really gorgeous indeed. I toyed with the idea to add gathered tulle at the bottom of the lining to give it a little extra volume and all, but the tutorial was already really long. 😉✂️✂️

    • @RomyStanZakStudio
      @RomyStanZakStudio  5 років тому +8

      Hi Laurem ! I used a synthetic jersey for the main dress (a thick one, it looks better) and light cotton to line it and make it more confortable. These fabrics are quite inexpensive but if you can afford it and want higher quality fabrics and a more polish look, you can go with silk or satin. It's a little bit more technical to work with but very doable ! You can find everything in your local fabric store. Enjoy !
