@5:13 -- Caller ID. Although seeing a strange name or number on your caller ID screen is helpful, be aware that it can also be used to scam you. The name or number that you see can be faked. So you can't fully trust what you see with caller ID.
Over here in Brasil we have a instant, direct and 24/7 transfer system called PIX. You can use an alias for your account, either a phone number, an email, your CPF (a nationwide unique number issued to each person that register for it) / CNPJ (the same, but for companies) or even a random key. It is becoming quite common to scammers to transfer a big amount into a person account, using their phone number as the transfer key, and call them to explain it was intented to transfer to someone else, and ask them to do that. BUT, if they do, the scammers right away use the "fraud prevention" system to have the money transfered back to their account. So you have the amount removed from your account twice: one for the "favor" you did, and the other to "return" the cash to the fraudsters. The rule of gold in that situation is: don't know where that "PIX" came from? Don't touch it. At most, contact your bank if it would be safe to just use the "return PIX", wich woudl trigger a especial transfer signaling that the amount was properly returned to the source account. If you transfer to a different account you lose protection of your own bank, because you may be flagged as a scammer yourself, by trying to keep money that does not bellong to you No hacking, just the pure old social engeneering and naivete of the people still new into how PIX works
i receive, random phone calls. Telling me, that 1300 $ is drawn on my bank account , Ebay. Then, a 300 $ one, on another account. Then, the voice says....'' IF THIS WASN'T YOU,......ENTER no ........// I do NOTHING....NO RESPONSE - AS THE NUMBER IS UNKNOWN TO ME . DELETE...with NO action taken. I DON'T EVEN HAVE AN EBAY ACCOUNT. ! Checked the phone number.....dialled it.....'' this call cannot be completed as dialed ''.....tells me, everything i knew before. Cementing the ' scammer ' case. Period . . period. / Thanks, again, Leo . Keep shovelling snow....
There are scams when someone calls pretending to be from Microsoft saying either your license has expired or they need to access your computer to fix it. MIcrosoft does not call people at home
I do everything possible to offend Pradeep from 1.800.India who says his name is Robert or Michael. Waste their time and do whatever you can to get under their skin.
I've received texts saying they couldn't deliver your package because the delivery address is incomplete or the wrong house number. I recommend not tap on the link in the text and just reporting is as spam
right. they want some kinda response.... YOU didn't even order anything, from them ? i get those, the odd time........report as spam - in - an eastern india can../ i work, for what i got - don't expect any ' freebies '' . if its too good to be true.....ITS A SCAM.
@@askleonotenboom I find it amusing, because here in Brasil they never charged us for caller id, neither for landline nor for cellphones. For landline they were not available at first, of course, but when it did, it was for granted and included for everyone, as long as you had a device capable to receive and show it on a screen
It’s so sad, now a days, we aren’t safe going out, nor staying home! Never ask anything numbers you don’t know, texts you don’t know! Great video!
People always say “I’ll never fall for that!”, until they do. We all must watch the signs and think twice before doing anything.

Caller asks for someone else, not you.... maybe you can help. Really??
WAIT! You PAY for Caller Id? Over here it was always "free" 😅
It's typically included these days, but there are still holdouts that charge. Landlines only though, it's always present in mobile, that I can tell.
