My washing machine quit at the first of the year. We had to wait a month for a new one to arrive. 😢 Luckily I have a wringer and was able to wash by hand. Kind of fun the first day but by the time my machine arrived I was soooo happy. With as many people making dirty clothes as you have I would guess you would be definitely over it pretty quick.

I wish I had a wringer the last couple of weeks, it took forever for things to dry!

You are in a more rural, country area where metal t-posts are seen as valuable in an era of inflation. This said, put out the word that you are willing to take the tired, poor, and even huddled masses of other's t-posts for re-homing; including the onsies-twosies. You may not get a single one or, you may amass quite a few over time. It is amazing what such networking can produce over time. Use them for field fencing, garden fencing, or even for stringing up veggies using something between cattle panels and kite string.

We actually have quite a few t posts, it’s the plastic step in posts that get ruined easily!

Laura…have you given any thought to a stackable w/d? I have a full size front loading set and I love it. We too had to have a small space type unit but I still wanted a full size machine. Just a thought but when space is a premium we find ways to make the most of what we have to work with so I thought I would suggest it as an option. Have a blessed Easter and lambs are right in season!!!:):):)

Unfortunately the closet has a very low ceiling clearance too…stackable w/d won’t fit either. We just need a better spot, but it’ll take time to work that out!

My washer died a little while ago .. and we made the choice to not replace it. For decades I washed all my clothes by hand with five kids at home... When my washer died we removed it and set up the metal wash tubs and wringer etc in it's place... I have to admit it's work but it gives me a chance to slow down and just be with the laundry and god...

Oh boy, do I remember those days growing up with 8 other brothers and sisters. It was like a workout routine but got the job done. I have come to the realization that there were no gyms to buy subscriptions to because we exhausted our exercise needs just doing the daily chores back in the day!!!:):):)

You're brave. I have a mostly working Large Capacity Whirlpool Washer with a 1968 patent that we bought over 25 years ago new. All the repairmen told us not to replace it because the new machines weren't half as sturdy. So far it's still going but I need to get a new timer.

Oh my gosh when my kids were 1, 2, and 3 we didn't have a washer for 6 months it was horrible washing diapers for 3 kids and all the clothes, towels and linens it was alot then our dryer died and we had to wash by hand , wring alk the laundry out and hang it all to dry it was a huge project for a family of 5 for that long then I mentioned to my mom that the washer and dryer had both died and they were really old so she ordered me a nw washer and dryer, had it delivered they hauled the old appliances away. I was so thankful to have a new washer and dryer.

I've als done the clothes in bathtub off an.on a few times no fun, happy you have new washer for you and family..also got a great idea from tribe of many after her trip to Japan. Foldable bed cushions that save space in kids room Japanese use this type for space saving...they have them on Amazon. Think they would work great for kids and grandkids or even adults...I'm going to get to use.

I'm glad you found a larger washer that will fit in the space. Certainly wouldn't want to do washing for everyone in the bathtub. My back would give out. A woman's work is never done.
It's good that Sam is handy around the Farm, and can do some plumbing, etc.
A Blessed Easter to you and your family. ❤✝️🙏

Don't put your washer in the mud room. If it freezes in the winter you'll be out a bunch of money in water pumps and other parts. Washers (especially commercial ones) have to be in somewhat climate controlled areas
