Making a Centerpin (Purple Heart Wood!)

I would like to share with you how I made an 1800’s style Centerpin reel out of Purple Heart wood and some modern twists! And fishing with it!!!!

I was looking for this. Well produced video and so nice to see you accomplished this using everyday tools. I'm hoping to give this a try. Putting your mark on this with the crest made this very special indeed. Was this from a plan or did you copy from an original?

It was all original although I used the drag/ brake from an old cheap center pin and set it in the same way. And the drill press vertical lathe is great. Wasn’t expensive even with the wood turning tools. I will definitely be making more
