Thank you for sharing this lovely holiday. Maui is our families favorite vacation destination. In 2019 I booked a holiday for about 16 family members to,cerebrate our mother’s 90 birthday. We took care of airfare, rented 3 mini vans plus one jeep, and three units with 3 bedrooms able to sleep 8 per unit. Sadly Covid hit and we had to cancel everything. Then in 2021 our sweet mother passed away from Covid. We still plan to take that trip with our kids and grandkids, looking at 2026. You have to book a year out when taking a large group. Your videos reminded me how much we love the islands and as you stated, we know our mom would like us to still go. Thanks again.

What a beautiful video! My husband and I have always valued exposing our children to new cultures. But we also traveled exactly like you guys did....bringing as much healthy food as we could pack, and eating most meals at "home." Our last trip, before our oldest got married, was to London and Paris. My husband lived in France for a year, and I spent a lot of time in Europe, so we wanted to share those cultures with them. It was winter break for college, so we were able to put our cold foods outside on the window sills, no need for a fridge. LOL!
What a wonderful way to celebrate your mother's life by taking a once and a lifetime trip!!

I love this!! Taking this trip definitely gave me the bug to want to make more memories traveling and seeing different places and cultures as we are able. I love that you got that Europe trip in as a family. How very special!! And the cold foods on the window sills just makes it extra memorable :).

Hawaii! I can't even imagine how awesome it must have been to go on such a wonderful trip. 💖💖
When returning from trips, do you ever think of doing a Cleanse or do you think you ate sufficiently healthy enough on trips? I'm very picky, have digestive issues, and have many food allergies, and I often worry about what I would eat if I went to certain places. I do wonder if I have to eat more of processed foods from stores to stay sufficiently satisfied, or if I would find enough of the local foods that I can digest well and not be allergic to and not have complications health-wise. That's why I asked the question about cleansing on your return home.

We have had some nights right above freezing, but it has actually warm up a bit, and it’s quite warm here, but a lot of rain and wind, so it doesn’t feel that warm. You get really damped wearing your rain clothes now, since the temperature has been up to 13 degrees Celsius (around 55 degrees Fahrenheit).

@@FromScratchFarmstead I think you guys is some of those that gets that you grow wherever you have room for it🤣 The lightning is really great and the temperature is nice, so they are enjoying themselves 😁🍅 I am renting, so the only place I can grow are on a small porch, but it’s a bit cold even in the summer, and inside. My living room has so much light so I have grown mini cucumbers, chili, and tomatoes. I didn’t have success with my chili’s, peppers, and aubergine this year, and I only had a few tomatoes in the summer, but now they are thriving 🤣🥰 It’s small scale, but fun 😁 My tomato plants it 2,5 meter high and has grown in my curtains and a long side the ceiling. It has been a jungle here 😂🌴

Very important for kids to eat tougher meats.
This is very important for their teeth and jaw bone development, to avoid crooked teeth as much as possible.
Liver is super food, very good to eat twice per week. It is very good that you not giving them tons of sugar.

What do you think about the thought of your prepared foods going through the conveyor belt for scanning and they keep the prepared foods under that machine while they check? It's like a radiation scanner machine. Thank you God bless you MARANATHA

    • @Lucinda_Jackson
      @Lucinda_Jackson 2 місяці тому +1

The machines they use emit very low levels of radiation and cause no damage to the food and the irradiated food poses no danger to people, just as the other items passing through pose no danger afterward. They don't "hold" radiation!

Airport scanners are used to detect dangerous items on passengers and their belongings, such as weapons, explosives, liquids, and chemicals. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) uses a variety of machines to screen passengers and their items, including:
Millimeter wave machines: These machines use advanced imaging technology to screen passengers without physical contact. They can detect both metallic and non-metallic threats.
Metal detectors: These walk-through detectors are used to screen passengers.
Backscatter x-ray machines: These machines are used to screen passengers and their belongings.
Cabinet x-ray machines: These machines are used to screen passengers and their belongings.
Body scanners: These scanners are designed to detect items worn or carried on a person, including weapons, explosives, and other prohibited items. They do not pose any known health risks to passengers or operators

Those are little kids, doubtful any will remember anything other than the oldest maybe remembering the fact they went. An expensive and stressful family trip that the adults will remember more than the children. Been there, done that, not worth it for me. I took mine at 10 and all they remember is the fact we went, and we went swimming. We can swim here. I wish I had waited until teenagers. Way too much work (especially cooking and cleaning enough that a Costco trip was necessary) and costly to be enjoyable for me. I would have either stayed home and planned a trip when kids are old enough to remember or left the kids with grandparents and gone with hubby. I could sort of understand if staying with family and therefore free accommodations and a few free family meals and having a week of sleep overs with cousins but to stay at a rented house and have to go to Costco and cook and clean. No thank you. I’d save for the resort/pamper/dream vacation instead :) she has a great attitude but we can make everything look great behind a camera lens. I am curious how many meltdowns they had to deal with, I suspect so many that I would melt down. I bet it feels great to be home again!

@@authenticallytracy3421 I think making memories is a family experience. You’re right - it’s not easy to travel with kids - not the same vacations I remember when it was just me and my husband. But we personally don’t wait to travel with babies and young kids and have invested in helpful travel products that make it much easier than most generations had it. It is extra work, but it’s not about the kids memories at that age but ours. May be they will remember some or none at all, but I’m not sure I want to wait until I’m in my 50s (I started having kids later in life) until they’re all teens. Offering an alternative perspective. Joelle and Jim will always remember that trip and how it commemorates her mom’s passing and cousin’s wedding.
