Loved this video! Very wise the way you go about all this! I live in a city so I try to support local! But I do buy butternut squash, etc from Costco (3 in a bag). They are alot cheaper and they store well. We had a blizzard today up here in central Canada. Winter coats and boots are all out.
Love this - thanks for sharing! Oh wow, winter weather has definitely already hit you! Hoping we still have some time before too much snow :) Thanks for watching!
This is so nice! I try to grow as much as possible for myself for winter as well. What zone are you in? I like the idea of leaving the potatoes in the ground until the end of October. Do I have to pull them in before the first frost? Winters are brutal here🇨🇦
We are in Zone 5b. You wouldn't need to pull them before the first frost. They'll be find underground. We just make sure to grab them before any hard freeze sets in.
Here in thw Scottish Highlands and Islands, our October holiday’ was for potato lifting. We always had two weeks off (as kids - now it’s only a week), because that job was a family, and a time consuming, job that needed done.
Lord yall aint in Texas for sure! No gloves and little to no shoes in the dirt! Everything here is trying to bite, sting, scratch, spit or shoot you. Lol. I ordered the book by Jo and subscribed to the website. 😉

Do you cure your potatoes or put them straight into storage? Great video!
Thank you! Ideally we cure them first before storing in bins long term!
How do you cure? 🤔
