I remember my Dad's first mo/co was a Hesston PT7. He pulled it with a Farmall M. He upgraded to a Case 830 tractor.
Awesome Jason! I absolutely love the old tractors... Can't beat the way the tricycle type turn... That's a sharp old tractor my friend. Thx
It is a nice 469. It was neat to see the late 1960’s Hesston too.
@@bigtractorpower yes sir... I have an old one like that in a fence role... Been there 40 years.. I should clean it up and put it in my yard. Lol
Old school never gets old!!!! Thanks Jason!!!!
It’s always a great opportunity to feature a classic pair like this IH 460 and Hesston PT7.
That’s a nice looking tractor, it’s been well taking care of
Ole 460…😃👍🏻 spent plenty of time doing circles in the field back in my childhood. Fun tractor. Thanks for sharing!
It’s always exciting to find a classic like this 460.
We used a Heston PT7 on our farm, it was a good machine. That one has been well taken care of to still be going after all these years.
It was exciting to find this classic Hesston still at work. It really deserves its own video.
My grandfather had a pt 10 before it broke then he bought a hesston 1091 back in 83ish and i still use it to this day
The Hesston just humming along. 👍more videos like this. Smaller older tractor and various implements.
My dad bought a diesel 560 narrow front brand new when he and mom took over the family farm. It was in use until it stopped running a couple years back. Would love to get it looking and running as nice as that 460.

Great to see you in Wisconsin, thank you big tractor power
Dad's Oliver 7 ft sickle mower needed lots of worn parts replaced, Dad priced a new IH 9 ft pull-type sickle mower with the wobble style gearbox and while it was a great mower it was WAY TOO much money, think something well over $1500. Neighbor had a 6 ft Brillion rotary mower/chopper like ours, He and Dad worked on them to remove the right side panel so it discharged the cut alfalfa hay when we cut hay with them. A 6 ft cut @ 5 mph with NO stops was faster than a 7 ft cut with repeated stops to clear plugs out of the sickle. We only mowed 20 acres of hay three times a year, hard to justify a mower/conditioner for 60 acres of hay/year. The last 20 acres of hay we made I mowed with my '54 Super H, raked with my Super H, and pulled the neighbor's new to him IH#37 pto baler over the 20 acres. He had an engine driven IH #55 before that made a huge bale but the knotters needed lots of work. A wider rotary mower like a 9 or 10 ft would have been faster. Same chopper could have been used to chop corn stalks after picking corn every fall.
We started cutting hay with a Farmall 200 single wheel front tire , 2 Farmall super C 'S and a Farmall H , the sickle bar mower for the quick hitches on the Farmall 200 and the Farmall super C 'S .
I have a 1960 460. We love it for hay tractor don't do much mowing with it I like the wide fronts with the disc mower it does not run the center of the window down so bad like the narrow front does. But we sure like ours is a hate tractor we rake with it we Ted with it good machine lot of people didn't like them as well as the super m MTA 300 350 but we like ours for what we do with it. It's great tractor and the 3-point fertilizer spreader really like it on the grain drill because the narrow front end turns short at the ends of the fields. Once in awhile when we want to pull our old 10-ft light drag disc as opposed to the big heavy transport disc will use it on that.
I have used my 460 gasser with a gehl 880 haybine, hesston 5580 round baler and a MF #10 square baler. Also some small tillage equipment. Also works great with a post pounder mounted up front. One of my main tractors (out of 10) on the farm.
Thank you for sharing. Gehl built some nice hay and forage equipment. It would be best to see an IH 460 round baling.
Grew up on a 460, it was my favorite tractor back then.
Cool to see a tractor like this still going strong👍👍
It was a neat find. The classic Hesston made it a cool combo.
Would like to have a 460 Diesel someday. See plenty of 560 diesels but hardly any 460s so it would be a little different. Beautiful old farm in the background.
Do you know how fast a Oliver 1550 is on the road normally?
Boy that brings back memories I remember we started out with a Ford 3 pt sickle mower then mid 60s bought a 7 ft international 990 an in 85 bought a new Holland 489 had that till 2019 an bought a new Holland 7230 disc bine an pull it with a jd 4250
Great history of mowers. Getting to see this PT7 is almost more exciting than the great classic tractor running it. I hope to find an IH 990 to film some day.
I use a new holland 478 mower conditioner. pull it with whatever is handy that day, IH 544 or IH 856 or IH 966 them 3 are usually my go to mowing tractors.
I remember cutting hay with a Heston 3130 9ft 3 cutting width had steel crimping rollers on it. Used Oliver 1755 tractor. When we got our own cut neighbor across the road would call me and cut his 80 acre piece of hay half mile rows.
My Dad's first tractor was a 460. Did all the plowing and planting with it back in the day. It's got it pretty easy now. We use a IH 966 on a new Holland 1411 and sometimes the IH 656 on the new Holland 492
I think I'd shift up a gear. The crop is light, and that reel speed is clearly ready for more ground speed.
Those front wheels sure are far apart for a narrow front. Spacers on the hubs? It looks like he wants a wide front without actually converting to a wide front.
Omg that would of been my dad in the 80’s and 90’s cutting hay with the same tractor.. 👍👍👍👍👍
Ours haybine was a new Holland 467 an Case 730 diesel had them until my folks retired from dairy farming almost 20 yrs ago.
I need to get my old 460 fixed and running again
Never drove a Farmall!😳
We had a haybine for the Ford 4630. I drove it a few times. Dad got a disc mower to replace it. Dad and my uncle are still at it. I got them to get a dolly for the disc mower. So much easier to hook up and swap to the TN70a New Holland. I about had to put them in a full nelson to get that too.
Hello from Wisconsin we're running the exact same mower hooked to a Massey Ferguson 165 thanks for all of your videos!
Very cool. That is an awesome mowing team with a 165 and PT7.
Such a classic tractor.
Oh man, does that bring back some memories! Except it was an Allis-Chalmers D17 with a Hesston PT-10 mower. Mowed a LOT of hay with that old combo as a teenager!
Very cool mowing combo. Thank you for sharing about the PT10. It was very exciting to get to feature a PT7 still a work.
Bel video. Bravo. Bei mezzi.💪💪👍👍👋👋🚜🇮🇹🔝
My Father has a 1988 Kubota 6950dt 2wd with a New Holland 492 9ft haybine
We use to run a 7’ New Idea sickle mower, Cockshutt Rake #7 I believe on steel. Ford 530 square baler. Usually on a Oliver 550 gas, or model D case. Forget the year but hand clutch.
I run a 706 with a d282 and a New Holland 488
Do got to say #1 video for smallest tractor and mower and feild
I run a John Deere 4240 power shift with a 1360 John Deere discbine very nice pair
That is a nice mowing team. Thank you for sharing.
I really like the 35 to 100 hp. range older tractors.
These were big tractors in their day. I am always excited to find tractors like this 460 to feature.
That is one beautiful tractor. Farmall tractors are still around they are owned by Case IH. They are not bad good as the John Deere and Allis Chalmers tractors during their time along with fords.
I enjoy getting a chance like this feature a classic tractor and implement still at work in the field.
🔥🔥👍👍
My second favorite tractor. Love it.
What is your number one favorite?
@@bigtractorpower the 560 lol
Yeah mine is by no means new but a long way from the old haybine, it's a 2006 NH HW340 with a 16ft discbine, i got very tired of digging gopher hills out of my Hesston 1160
Now THAT'S a tractor! Question: why is the mower (or other implements) offset from rear of the tractor?
Nice vid, THX!
Case C60 or Massey Ferguson 165 and a Hesston 1085 mower conditioner
Great vídeo Jason.
Moline 955 pulling a JD 925 Moco
Very cool. That is a nice old tractor! That was a fair bit of money back then. That tractor would cost almost exactly $47,000 today if bought new.
I pull a case 555 with my 460 the tractor has the combine engine in it putting out right at 60 hp (case 555 is same as pt 10 basically)
Good tractor during there days.
👍👍
766,1066,or a1466. Whichever isn’t hooked to something else. New idea 5209 disc conditioner. Grew up cutting on a 560 diesel and case ih 1190-7. We still own that pair. Moore Farms south central Indiana
Whereabouts at? I’m in Martinsville. I don’t farm myself but I help bale hay with my cousins north of town
Beautiful tractors 👍😁🚜
The 460 and 560 have a great look.
@@bigtractorpower They are very good tractors. Every tractor that is taken care of and is serviced on time and used correctly never stops working.
Would you do a show on the Hesston 60A tine pickup Stackhand hay stacker please.
We had 5 sections of alfalfa and two New Holland Swathers two 60A Stackhands with the tine and blower pickups. Generally powers with an IH 100turbo and an IH 185 We had three 60a Stack Movers 5th wheel hitches, Two of them converted from tongue hitches, and one was a Hesston made 5th wheel.
Nice video, we used a Case IH JXU100 4wd tractor with a Fella SM320 disc mower. Greetings from🇩🇪
Very nice mowing team. Thank you for watching.
I use my 4040 john deere and a new holland 411 discbine
Awesome Jason!!! Who needs air conditioning, massaging seat and GPS?? GO BTP 💪
A true classic tractor.
Nice
Thank you for watching.
OLD SCHOOL
That’s one of my favorite tractors, great video👍
Very cool. This was a neat find to feature with the classic Hesston.
@@bigtractorpower yes
That was really cool. Love those narrow front oldies.
Well would cut hay but the cows are eating off of it
