I do not think you need to put the fake magazine you can take it off but me i keep it on because it stores more ammo i like the blue color way more than the red one

PRO TIP: You can use the magazine as a gel container so that you can hold extra gels on the go!
I Think that The “fake Magazine” is for extra gel-Ball storage, so when your hopper is empty, you Can just Pour the extra gel-balls in The Hopper.
