@tekitoubanzai every country/culture may slightly differ in what they value in dance. where some value expression, others may value technicality/musicality/control, etc. each to their own. the japanese are cheering for perfectly legitimate reasons.

@tekitoubanzai how is it irrational? because you find it so? from my experience, they could be cheering for any number of things. musicality is obviously one of them, its difficult to go that fast but still retain enough control to hit the beats that they do. it could be the difficulty of the moves they're doing. it could also simply be because its something fun, something that makes them smile, or something that they totally did not expect. who are u to tell them they're wrong for cheering?

These are but "some" of the primary facets that Popping is categorized to be in present day. However, the popping tip aside, Acky in actuality responded to kite's footwork with his own, it was in fact a footwork battle if you didnt notice, and he lost.

See, it's nice to defend people and say a bunch of nice things, fuck the war and let's love each other. Do you know how the Japanese society is organized? Do you know how they interact with each other? Have you ever witnessed a japanese dude telling you how much they didn't like a dancer but still cheered for him because it's how it's supposed to be? No? Well, I did, all the time.

But look at this!! I mean, Kite and Acky are who they are, but it's overdone. Kite just has to move his feet and people go off!! That's just my personal opinion, but I like when the crowd knows what it's cheering for. Cheering for your sempai because you're supposed to is not a good argument for me :(
