It's good see your dad out trucking
My grandpa hauled potatoes back in the 70s and 80s. He took kitchen cabinets out to South Dakota, and pick up a load of potatoes to bring them back to Pennsylvania. He says that it would get so cold and snowy, that they had park beside the storage shed. I'm guessing so that you wouldn't be buried in snow in the morning. Thank you Tim for bringing us along for the ride.

I remember me and my dad did things together and I miss that a lot my dad is and he is Heaven with my mom I miss them both.
I here ya My Dad and I did a lot of things together weather he had lunch money or not I always paid I never mind doing that or if he saw something he wanted I would wait until he was gone then picked it up for him or waited until we got home then gave it to him Heaven got a great guy miss you tons Dad

My dad has worked for me for the last 12 years, he'll be 65 this year, I've tried to retire him twice but he refuses to stop working, and I enjoy having him with us

The truck that you call rooster I think you're driving it you need to tune it up between shifts you got nothing but black smoke that's dollar signs out the Pipe . In doing a video chat while driving at the distracted driving one of these days you're going to find out the hard way.

It's pretty cool to watch a trailer get dumped like that. One winter I hauled wood chips to Dow Chemical in Midland Michigan for their cogeneration plant. Their lift was large enough to leave the tractor hooked on while dumping. And they limited a truck's gross to 120,000. Anything heavier than that, the driver was supposed shovel the extra off before dumping.

My parents' 65th anniversary was on the 23rd of August, and both of them got covid at the beginning of this month. My dad is still fighting it. There's a new strong version of covid. Go see the doctor fast and rest.

When I hauled potaoes in a belt trailer in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho my empty weight was 33,000 lbs and the gross weignt was 96,000 lbs so we always netted around 63,000 lbs on a 53' tailer 7 axle truck so I don't know why you guy's use refrigerated trailer's because they're heavy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Because the shipper and receiver want it in a reefer!!!!!!!!🤦🏻♂️
Frito Lay requires reefer into most of their plants, especially with fresh crop, summer heat, and even more so going into Florida.
@@rollinbyu We had a contract hauling to Frito Lay in Bakersfield California all year long with a belt trailer and the belt trailer's we used had spray foam insulation under the floor of the trailer so maybe the Frito Lay plant's in your area have a different requirement on their shipping !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All I was trying to get across was that you can haul more per mile in a belt trailer and be more profitable in the process !!!!!!!!
@paulhasty8388 Did anything in my comment dispute anything you said. I was replying to the part of your comment where YOU said "I don't know why you guys use refrigerated trailers ". Because they are required by those plants - that's why. Obviously, it realize you are in a different part of the country totally and yes requirements differ, even between plants of the same company. I don't haul potatoes with a reefer, just an insulated trailer- reefer removed. I also certain times of the year go into a Frito plant that still does not require reefer, probably the only one on the East Coast.
@paulhasty8388 Also I have seen those belt trailers you use over there in Oregon. One of the farms in NY uses three seven axle rigs with Oregon tags for hauling out of the field to the farm during fresh dig to load the trucks going to the plants. Most plants over here have stopped allowing deliveries on open top trailers. A few still do.

Yeah best thing to get those potatoes out of your floor is a wooden broomstick. A furniture refer trailer is the best for doing that because it has shallow grooves that are smaller.

Tim how many trucks have you got in the fleet now ?.......i'm not pulling you down or anything but in my opinion, it's your business how you run things....that fire has cost you more in reality than it should have, i get the determination, the drive etc to succeed, dreams can be & are expensive if you ain't careful.......Hope things turn out well for you & the team in the end , hard graft don't hurt anyone. Your MPG is going up the Chimney every time you hit the pedal in unburnt fuel/Black Smoke which clogs up all the internals so poorer airflow>less MPG>Less BHP
