2:27-5:25 - At the time (1979-'81), NBC was almost "Dead As A Dodo", because they were in third place among the three networks {ABC and CBS usually fought for "first place" with viewers}. NBC president Fred Silverman tried so many gimmicks- and created so many promos- to get more viewers to watch....but in the end, it was just too much (remember "PINK LADY [& JEFF]"?).

Golden Girls, Friends, Fresh Prince, The Smurfs, Amen, Unsolved Mysteries, Parks and Recreation, Quantum Leap, Law and Order and even TV movies like A Killer Among Friends and Merlin (1998) is the best of the NBC bunch. Too bad the Network aired some stinkers like Young Rock (it got canned thankfully) and LA Brea (the shortest final season began next year)
