I replaced the tensioner because it’s also considered a wear item. I usually try to replace the belt with the tensioner at the same time.

Heh, heh, modern cars. Someday I’ll have to do this operation on my ‘12 Chrysler 200 Touring convertible. I learned from another UA-cam video that the best way to access the headlight lamp connectors is the same by removing the wheel and tire and the front part of the fender liner.

Just replaced '07 at 220k miles (335kkm) front wheel off is only way to tackle it. Asia pacific models have 14mm pully bolt. Needed heaps of torque on 2foot pry bar and extensions out past fender

Thanks for the video. I’ll need to perform this task on my car very soon!
Can I ask…why did you replace the tensioner? Was it faulty? Bad bearings? Or do you consider it a maintenance item that needs periodic replacement?

Anytime I replace a belt I prefer to do the tensioner as well because it is also considered a wear item and overtime it starts to loose tension.

What tool did you use to release the tension?

Clockwise torque pressure on pulley bolt rotates tensioner into a slack zone. Indicated by LIFT and arrow marked on OEM tensioner
