The girls were astonishingly beautiful, right? And had so much fun doing their stuff. If only I had legs that long 😂😜😂😜😂😜
Great one Hap, as always 🧡

The premise of the program was this: Dock workers are unloading a shipment of cargo into a warehouse, one large box is labeled: “From Sweden, Made for Export”....when the dock workers approach the box it pops open and ABBA climbs out of it......they then start signing and rocking out while the dock workers continue their work in and around ABBA

      Yes in part
but the first song that ABBA perform when the box open was "Mamma Mia"

Hello, so happy to see You with more ABBA songs
"So long" has many interesting things to analyze
its rhythm is in the similar glam rock style of Waterloo, it was recorded in 1974, months after ABBA's triumph at Eurovision
And since the reissue of “Ring Ring” after “Waterloo” barely made it into the UK Top 40, ABBA's search for a second hit to reinforce “Waterloo” focused on “So long” precisely because of its rhythm and style in the vein of "Waterloo"
But it didn't even make it onto the UK charts
The following year ABBA would try "I do I do I do I do I do" another Top 40, until finally it was "S.O.S." that broke the ‘only one hit’ curse to #6 in the UK and #15 in the US, and from then on ABBA was the hit-after-hit machine.
"So long" I think is more aggressive than "Waterloo", and at the same time more fun (but don't have the magic of "Waterloo")
Agnetha and Frida do one of their most memorable choreographies
And the live performance on the 1977 Australia Tour is spectacular.
"So long" is a very good song that unfortunately did not have commercial success
But ABBA always included it in their first TV specials until 1976 included.
in the B-side of this single was
    "I've been waiting for you"
    a beautiful ballad folk pop
do you want to react this?
it's a beautiful TV perfomance in Musikladen, Germany
    See you in another video
A cordial greeting from my country Argentina

Try So Long live in Australia 1977, it’s a short clip, but so much energy and a tiny mash up with ‘In The Mood’

Thanks for the ABBA. The cat dresses where long but velcroed at the waist so they could whip off the bottom half. Pretty sure I read it was Frida's idea. Guess we found out here what she had in mind. Great "Rocking" ABBA song. Love the smile on Agnetha's face ->(Frida's gone nuts) 😀

Hello, to my mind before ABBA appeared with this nice hit in front of the public, there were a lot's of exercises in order to focus the listeners to the band & make their comp. Bestsellers. May be Rain, May snow, May be yes, May be no!!! Frida is very attractive and she is sporty as well. Agnetha is tender and very beautiful. They were not only well prepared in Music but physically, too. It was their way of their own to sing, show off and realize their ambitions. All in all they were a great success. Nowadays they are both very nice singers and vocalists. That all do.

Although this is from 1975 it was recorded in 1974 and was at the end of the Glam Rock period. If you listen to Wizzard’s See My Baby Jive you can see the similarities. In your reaction to SOS they were wearing the long part of the outfit.

Made in Sweden for Export was the name of the special that this performance was in. Abba hated to tour and only did a couple of major ones. The rest of the time they made their videos and did performances like this to be broadcast around countries or around the world.

The brunette one loved the stage. She was the stage pro. Stage since 1956. Pro since 1958, age 13. Stage performance is her roots. She then did lots of TV shows 1967-72 and modeling too. She loved the lights, cameras, buzz.
She said she likes singing live vs studio because you can cater your performance based the feel and mood of the environment.
Also, she the one of the four that has that hard to believe life story.

Ha ha! What a reaction! I don’t think I’ll ever listen to So Long without laughing again! Made in Sweden was a 20 minute movie to show the world what Sweden had to offer, the two guys at the back are comedy actors, they interact with the group a bit more in Mamma Mia.

It really is another example of their versatility. Hopefully your response is not well, I already did I did I did I did 🤣

If you saw the completed video you would see they are actors in this skit, sort of like union workers. Movers of the items ABBA exported and they got the piano out of a crate for this song.

Looks like Frida was really relating to the title. She's Norwegian, and apparently had a really tough childhood because of accusations of family members collaborating with the Nazi occupation in WWII. Happy to leave that behind, and maybe to demonstrate what they were losing.

She is a huge self made success story. No mom and dad. A lost child. Pro at 13, 1958 and started supporting herself. Huge success in music. Huge success in business.
      Became a Princess.
She has lived in Switzerland for 36 years. She is always on the most wealthiest list in Switzerland.
      She as an enormous fortune.
Estimated between 400 million and 1 billion. The people who put that list together say she is very active in multiple business', buying, selling, investing, always active in a new investment ventures.
In 2014, she launched her ski fashion designs. She is involved in a medical device that saves lives. Homes all over Europe. Speaks 6-7 European languages.
There has been talk about a book/movie about her life, but she said she has written a book, but not for publication. I don't think she will sell her story for a book or movie.

    • @danbike9
      @danbike9 3 роки тому +4

In a interview in 2014 on a Norwegian TV show, her Norwegian birth was brought up. She acknowledged it was a tough situation back then, but she was too young to remember.
The interviewer than got nosy and asked about her significant wealth and her businesss, etc... She acknowledged she has been fortunate and has done well.
She said as a child, she never had any money. Her grandmother, who raised her in Sweden was a seamstress and worked late and left her alone. She was a latch key kid that had no siblings or an adult around. So she was determined to be a successful singer so she could buy some candy.
Her rough childhood seems to be the driving force.
In the 90's she founded a children's charity. Camps all over Europe for unwanted, lonely children. She wanted them to have a childhood and play with other children and have adults they could ask questions to, etc..., something she never had. She never had a childhood.

They had long skirts that went over these that came off to review the minidresses underneath. You will find a lot of performances and photo shoots from this time period with them in these dresses. One of their most iconic looks. The guys have something on too. LOL. But not as memorable. Sometimes all 4 were pretty coordinated. But I am sure in this case no one is looking at the guys.
