- This is a real LAPD lightbar , The flash patterns are different since I had to replace the old flasher, but I plan on changing it back to the LAPD patterns. The red front facing light would have been steady burn, When doing the repairs to make the lightbar work again, I forgot to make the red light steady burn, I plan on fixing this in the future. I spent 5+ hours re-wirering it since the last owner had done a very bad job at it.
I'm also missing the center seal but replacements cost way too much so I put a strip of electrical tape. good enough for shelf/show.
Its in really nice shape, and a really cool find.
If this were an LAPD lightbar the red and blue "flashers" would be steady burn. The red steady burn is required by California law.
If you had read the comments you would have seen that I had to re wire the lightbar and I added the flashing, the original flasher was burned out, and wiring was messed up, it is an LAPD, it even still has the tags. I'm aware of the steady red, I plan on fixing that someday.
As a foreigner I'm still aware CA requires steady burn red light, but is there any specific reason as to why??
A steady red is more visible day or night. And yes it's true. When I see A code 3 in progress I see the steady red more than flashing or revolving lights. Some itty in Nevada, such as Henderson also have steady red
Finest halogen bar ever made.
Need the red to be a steady burn.. :-)
And the blue
Cool 😎 police 🚔 light bar is amazing
Beautiful lightbar. I recently sold one jus like that.
nice
Not LAPD unless it has steady burning red light.
I had to re wire it to get it to work and I hadn't made the red light steady burn by mistake. It is LAPD.
I wrote about it in the description.
When did the lapd use these?
Mid 90s early 90s
Not lapd if there’s no steady burn
Again. I get so many of the same comment. The lightbar was rewired to make it function. I forgot to make the red steady burn. I mentioned it in the description and in 10 other comments just like this. It is a real LAPD!
@@FTAfiretrucks no mention of a steady burn red in your description at all
@@Jsuttar it says "The flash patterns are different since I had to replace the old flasher, but I plan on changing it back to the LAPD patterns." but fine I will change it.
