Welcome to PART 6 of my Splatoon 3 Salmon Run Next Wave gameplay walkthrough on Nintendo Switch! We'll be playing the revamped horde mode Salmon Run, taking on Salmonid bosses new & returning, fighting for our lives against King Salmonids like the Cohozuna, as well as unlocking exclusive gear & bonuses along the way, and participating in the special event known as Big Run. I've forgotten, but I think you already know that the Crab Tank's ball form can roll up/on ink-able walls, like Splatoon 2's Baller Special. It can be seen in this video at 22 min 2 sec where you get knocked and wind up moving along the side of the wall to your right, slightly above the ground.
My tips in your "Miraculous Glowflies Clear" Salmon Run video I alluded to in another video's recent Comment includes:
1) I believe that the Crab Tank's lobbed shots (R button) can be shot into the Fly Fish's missile batteries to destroy them, much like the Explosher's shots. (Probably not a good idea to _activate_ the Crab Tank for a Fly Fish, but still useful to remember if you're already on your Crab Tank.)
2) The typically black background behind the squid & octopus icons in Salmon Run will flash between black and orange if even one Inkling/Octoling is down, meaning you can keep track of whether someone needs reviving with your peripheral vision, instead of having to look directly at the squid & octopus icons to see if someone has been Splatted, as I have been doing.
My tips in my Comment on your "Hunting Conch & Cohozuna" Splaterday Night Live stream regarding the Undercover Brella, Tri-Stringer and Fizzy Bomb are a bit much to re-post (UA-cam likes to not show text that I've copied & pasted, though I think removing the rich formatting lets it pass, but it might also make my Comment less likely to be recognized as a not spam and recognized as worthy of being shown regularly), so please do look for that Comment in your "Hunting Conch & Cohozuna" Splaterday Night Live stream, since I was excited to share those tips with you!
Here's another tip for the Crab Tank (that now that I think about it, that other viewer probably told you, but by me telling you, I'll have an easier time remembering it for myself) : The Crab Tank's turning is too slow to be useful when it is in its crab form, but when you emerge from the ball form, the Crab Tank will face the direction that you have the camera pointed, so you can use the ball form to more quickly turn, even if you don't plan on rolling anywhere.
25 min 27 sec In a situation such as this, Sub Strafing would probably be the fastest way to do this. Sub Strafing is a lot easier than it sounds. All you have to do is hold the R button and while continuing to hold it, press & hold the ZL button and swim in the direction you want to. When you want to change direction, you just release the ZL button momentarily while still holding the R button, then press the ZL button again and swim in the new direction you want to. (You only need to worry about releasing the R button while in Swim form if you intend on using your main weapon when you pop out of this Sub Strafing, meaning if all you need is to quickly change direction, as opposed to using it in the middle of a fight, this is not at all difficult to perform.) This is the quickest form of changing direction; quicker than Squid Rolling, marginally quicker than Raijin Stepping and doesn't require ink in your ink tank, but requires you to have friendly ink already on the ground. You don't just cancel your previous momentum with Sub Strafing, but also start moving with plenty of momentum (it actually feels surprisingly slippery, but you can control it easily), meaning you can Sub Strafe into a Squid Roll (which typically requires you to be swimming at speed for a short bit before you can perform it).
I previously thought you had to quickly alternate which button you were holding; requiring coordination, but it turns out that you don't. In terms of controller inputs, Sub Strafing is actually easier to perform than Squid Rolling!
