Asterisk has MWI capability. I remember setting it up that all phones associated with a voicemail box displayed "New Voicemail" notification, until somebody checked that voicemail. That, of course, depends on phone capabilityes, but Siemens or Cisco should work fine
Hi Rossmann, Thank for this video on the extensions. I'm using the freePBX 14.0.1.36 and I want to know the difference between CHAN_PJSIP and CHAN_SIP.
When I saw that the upload date of this vid was 2016 I was very surprised. I was expecting to see 1998ish because so much of the “telecom” discussion is so outdated even by 2016 standards. You guys are still talking about Asterisk and things like hard-wired exts on legacy digital PBX systems. That hasn’t been true since the early 90’s and most REAL Telecom guys know this kind of stuff. It’s the guys with network backgrounds and have little three digit IP phone systems that are really falling short of knowledge regarding digital capabilities yet they keep on preaching their ignorance as gospel. You guys just kill me sometimes. Lol God love ya.

I have my phone system in my company and one gateway planet vip 480 with four fxo ports. we have four analogs lines connected on four fxo ports of the gateway I want to set up an envirement that allow making call from local extension to external and from external number to may recepcionist number and the recepcionist farward the call to the righ extension trough my gateway. Iam using asterisk.

FreePBX and XiVO have the same base system - Asterisk.
XiVO interface looks similar to old FreePBX or "Asterisk GUI"...
