There’s a reason why this song has almost a hundred mil views. Filipinos are very family oriented and have deep love for ballads. I have watched at least 30 reaction videos already for this beautiful song, Mapa, and all of them cried, specially those who doesn't have any idea of what the song is about and it was just recommended for them to react to. Everytime that I watch the reactions, I always cried with them. It's such a beautiful song, beautifully sung by SB19.
Filipinos are family oriented and SB19 make songs to promote Filipino music and culture. It really reflects on their songs and i guess you get a glimpse of it. They are an amazing self-managed group who do everything from songwriting, produced/co-produced, choreo and music production of their music videos. They dont settle for one genre so it will be a roller coaster ride when you check their discography.

Don't be shy crying to this song since we Filos cried mostly as this song was composed by Pablo (their leader) during covid period wherein its months of lockdown to major cities in our country. MAPA = Map (their parents are their guide, hence Map)

2. Pablo gave the Dad verse to Josh who didn’t meet his biological father but he sang the verse beautifully.
3. Pablo wrote this song during the pandemic when all 5 of them were housed together and missing their families. Stell and Pablo were just doing laundry when they came up with this concept. Pablo asked the members what do they want to tell to their parents.
4. Ken’s family are staying abroad and his family are not with him most of the time. During their 3rd anniversary concert while performing this song, the other members’ families showed up on the stage one by one. Ken, knowing his family is not there was surprised to see his sister and uncle and broke down to tears 😢. The other members made it possible for Ken’s family to come.
5. This song was used in an ice cream ad. Some fans considered it their MV.
6. This song was translated by fans I guess to Spanish, Nihongo (Japan), Mandarin (China), English, etc
7. Mapa has a band version, a collaboration with Ben & Ben band (another famous Filipino artist). When SB19 wasn’t famous yet, they idolized Ben & Ben and saw them in one of their event and took photos together. They were fanboys themselves and can’t keep their excitement. They wished for a future collaboration, jokingly combined their names to SBen19. Two years later, their wish came true.
This group is pure talent and can sing different genres. You will love their other ballads - ILAW, Tilaluha, Nyebe, Hanggang sa Huli, Liham. But I suggest that after you react to the lyric videos/MV, follow it with their live performance at Wish Bus to see the emotions in their faces.

I dont know why but I can sense that kpop idols tend to find comfort from that song and we all do know how tired those kpop idols are physically, emotionally and mentally.

They just wants to give tribute to their parents for raising them well and give back for all their sacrifices. I have cried so many times with these song. Their live performance on wish bus is lit. Believe me when i say i used tonhate this song without listening to it because i thought it was a syrupy boyfriend girlfriend type of a love song and that SB19 was just a Kpop wannabe and i am not a fan of Kpop (not hating on Kpop, just.not my preference), but when SB19 hooked me with Gento, then Crimzone, i listened to it and discovered what the song really was about, i cried myself to sleep 😂and now i still ugly cry to this song whenever i listen to it. Pablo - Their leader was the one who composed this song. He created this along with the other members while doing their laundry. He just asked them what they wanted to tell their parents.
Justin - Their youngest member, who opened the song was the creative consultant of this lyric video and the creative director to most of their songs.
Josh - He’s the one who first sang on the dad part, this part was given to him by Pablo because Josh never met his dad but he guided himself and fought hard like becoming a dad to himself when he was growing up.
Ken - he asked Pablo to have a part on the dad portion of the song. My hunch is it’s because his dad was the first to support him in becoming an artist but this is just my guess as to why he asked.
Stell - He has the highest range and have asked Pablo to be the ending fairy of this song in particular but ended up being the ending fairy to a lot of songs.

Its About The OFW or Oversees Filipino Workers That Are Working Abroad, For their Family Left here In the Philippines~ Kids are Left to their Grand parents in a Young Age, the Parents Abroad are the one`s Sending Money For the Schooling and other need of their Child. its a Cycle of life with OFW Family here in PH, after that its their Kids Turn to go Abroad and work for their Family.
