That's a brilliant system you have worked out for collecting firewood brother. Your tractor, trailer, motorised raft and the ingenious method of towing using your van. Huge respect.
What an impressive set up. Your system is practical and very cool. A lot of thought went into those designs. Awesome by any standard. Anyone who has really worked getting wood could not help but appreciate your inventions. WOW!
Fantastic back saving inventor. The Henry Ford of Sawyers of simplistic design! A++ MAN! BRAVO!!! I WOULD PAY TO HAVE YOUR SET UP, DO YOU MANUFACTURE YOUR INVENTIONS GOR SALE?
I have watched this almost a dozen times over the last couple years.. I'm not sure if it's the toys you're working with or the fact that you brave it on a glorified boat dock with an outboard motor.. or the way you haul it home on the road.. But I'm constantly in awe with no lack of jealousy wishing I could bring home wood like this every day. I love the speed of the winch. I am finally building something similar onto my wood trailer so I can get logs and huge rounds into it easier. It won't be side load until I disect the trailer and make the sides removable but adding a hoop to the back of the trailer will make it possible for now. I also love the idea of running a quiet electric wood splitter.. Maybe by the time I'm 60 I'll have all the toys too
Hello Daniel! Thanks for your kind comments and thanks for watching. I'm retired and have been collecting toys for many years. The "Oxen" can be found as secondhand, they are smart designed and highly reliable. Happy New Year to you! //Peter
A one-man, one-dog, one-machine operation! This is how my dad got firewood, except that he used a horse and a bucksaw. Takes me back.... Thanks for sharing this. Great video!
For people like me that spend the day in front of this computer screen, it is good to know how you do it and the surroundings where you live. It is very interesting. Thank you for posting.
Я в восторге от такой техники. Сколько раз пересматривал видео и не могу оторваться. Сильнейшая техника! Насколько все продумано до мелочей, что кроме восхищения ничего выразить не могу. Интересно, а где снят этот сюжет?
U R very welcome. (I just subscribed) I got to tell U, it's nice to see ur dog with you. My Begal, Bowzer died 2 years ago. He went every where with me, he loved to go into the woods. Incredible nose on that boy. Had him for 13 years. Died of old age. I just can't get a dog again, none would be like him. Enjoy yours, life is good.
That little tracked vehicle is handier than pockets on a T-shirt, I could use one on my farm for various chores besides hauling in firewood. It looks to make life a lot easier.
i have to admit, i keep coming back to your video--very well done and very peaceful in a strange way--makes me abit envious every time i watch it, however--
Wow, I'm sure you don't look forward to it, but that looked like a relaxing day of getting out and getting some wood. Getting away from it all. Some neat equipment, and of course, the cool dog.
I agree with wildwill1970, this is a great vid, well put together and shows great ingenuity. I'd like to see more as well and am now subscribed.well done
Nice equipment, nice video too. I cut firewood too so I can relate to you. Something very rewarding about taking junk wood and turning it into heat for your family.
Great video! It's interesting to see how others get their firewood. I just drive about ten miles in my truck with splitter to a friend's house who has a tree removal service. Plenty easy! Well, maybe not "Easy" easy -- but no rafts or water crossings involved! I like the "Oxen" log-dragger thing. I need something like that. Thanks for posting this excellent video!
One man & his dog cutting firewood - I like that! Mind you that's a really big boiler you've got if it takes a bucket-load to feed it!!??!! Thanks for sharing!
Great little mule. Did all my wood gathering by hand because I couldn't afford the cost of fuel for heat, thus making one of those little rigs impossible.
Awesome! This is a really nice video. I can tell you put a lot of thought into setting up your camera angles. Great job. And I love that little tracked vehicle, "the oxen"
Love your videos! I just subbed you. You were really cutting it close with it getting dark. With the right equipment you did an awesome job. Congrats! Ontario, CANADA
dude thats some really cool stuff. And i would to to visit and help you get some firewood some time. you take care now you hear. And be careful out there in the woods.
I liked your video. I see you tied to the front bunk because the front bunk is where you will strip the load. I've never pulled a load off the rear bunk in over 40 years of driving a log truck. Something that might speed things up a bit would be to use a set of tongs. I couldn't see if you had a "compensator" at the front of the reach. If you don't, how does it make corners? The first splitter looked like you used planner blades for the splitter. Thanks for the video, you gave me some ideas.
i love the mini forwarder and both the log splitters. what tractor do you use to run the second log splitter and is that a case that you use with the bucket?
I just looked at your video again & at 2:00 you're backing off the barge and it looks like you have a "compensator". You have tubing that slides inside the outer tubing. On log trucks you have the "reach"(outer tubing) that connects the tractor with the trailer. At the head of the reach is pin you pull so the inner tubing will slide when you are loaded so you can make corners.(Most people don't realize on a long logger, the only thing making the trailer come/follow with the truck is the logs)
WOW!!! that's really cool!!!! I love your set up with the log carting machine. Please make more videos, and can you please make a walk though video of the machine it self??
Hey nyhage, I am in NY and after the hurricane I saw so many trees (hard oak) being pulverized by the tree companies into mulch and I was like "Nooooooooooooooo!!!!!" because I saw facecords and full cords and dollar signs LOL
No Problem -I like when people take an idea make it there own and show the world what they have made I`m always making stuff better in my world too --But to have a barge to go with your log truck -Cool .
Excellent! A handy machine on tracks, a trip across the lake, a chainsaw, a day's work in the woods, the company of a good dog, and a pile of wood to show for it all when you are done...What more could you ask?
Great job on the video. Thank you for sharing, I find it fascinating. Brave to go on that raft with no life jacket, but I guess you did have some wood to float on. Really nice operations you have there.
That's a brilliant system you have worked out for collecting firewood brother. Your tractor, trailer, motorised raft and the ingenious method of towing using your van. Huge respect.
Thank's a lot. 😊
What an impressive set up. Your system is practical and very cool. A lot of thought went into those designs. Awesome by any standard. Anyone who has really worked getting wood could not help but appreciate your inventions. WOW!
I always come back to watch this video once in a while, so good every time.
Fantastic back saving inventor. The Henry Ford of Sawyers of simplistic design! A++ MAN! BRAVO!!!

Hi Gary Evans! Thank you! Unfortunately, I lost my workmate in October last year. //Peter
Shit I'm sorry mate mine died 2 years ago I crippled by it so I know how it feels I just think the nice times I had with her running about playing
Sehr schön anzusehen, ich hätte glatt noch länger geschaut. Tolles Maschinen arsenal, das macht sichtlich spaß damit zu arbeiten.
I am very envious, it looks so beautiful and tranquil over there in Sweden! Conversely, I also love that monster circular saw that you've got there!
That little tracked vehicle is handier than pockets on a T-shirt, I could use one on my farm for various chores besides hauling in firewood. It looks to make life a lot easier.
Nice life, nice dog, nice machines and clean air ...
Great life style..... good on you.
I didn’t see the dog help at all. Maybe he’s there to keep feral rabbits from attacking.
That is a very clever operation. Good job. A model of efficiency!
not enough words to say what a great video, machines and your, congratulations, thanks for share it
ha, that's a cool little machine you have there... and a damn sharp saw too!
You make it look more like fun than like a chore to get firewood! :)
thanks for the video!
A true steward of the land. That wood buggy is a good invention, making no ruts.
i have to admit, i keep coming back to your video--very well done and very peaceful in a strange way--makes me abit envious every time i watch it, however--
very well done video you must have put alot of thought in to this well done. love your hole setup. keep up the good work.
Nice setup you have there! That mini forwarder looks very handy, especially for your uses!
Wow, I'm sure you don't look forward to it, but that looked like a relaxing day of getting out and getting some wood. Getting away from it all. Some neat equipment, and of course, the cool dog.
What an Awesome video -You have a one of a kind unit there does that seem like it should be on the showroom floor wow Love it Subbed ya .
that's a decent setup. I like the machine you use to haul the woods out
You have a really nice package. Nowadays you do not see that type of equipment that is used for 30 years. Nice video.

That little homemade barge stayed afloat with all that weight. Incredible!
Extremely top heavy and unstable
Awesome video, I'd love to live like that away from the city, so peaceful. Love the sound of the wood splitting.
One man & his dog cutting firewood - I like that! Mind you that's a really big boiler you've got if it takes a bucket-load to feed it!!??!! Thanks for sharing!
