I started writing last year. But I am a reader for a very long time. Natatakot akong magsulat noon because of "expectations and the reality that being a writer means failure".
I overcomed that, and used that and made that my edge.
My edge is "To work and dream for a better world than a perfecr one. To prove people I can write above their expectations and I will write but will not be considered as a failure, but to considered as a human with a dream".
I stick to my edge, and I already finished books and I am still currently writing.
I agree with all the things Ate Demi said.
But I also want to give an advise that "You as a writer, must have an edge".
I am not a professional, but I know my edge is going to take my many places.
So think about your edge, and used it to achive great things.

When I started writing, damn, truly there's no turning back. Kahit maghugas, maligo, magwalis, yung utak nasa pagsusulat, nag-iisip ng mga lines at mga plots HAHAHAHHAAHHA tapos maba-bother ka kapag di ka nagsulat 👁️👄👁️✋

Another sign: Writers treat writing as a job that should be done. It's a responsibility. And is it only me? Na pinupush talaga ang sarili na makapagsulat kasi parating nariyan 'yong thought na baka mahuli ang lahat? Kunyare may biglang mangyari sa akin tapos 'di ko na natapos ang story na ginagawa ko. I mean, before/if I die, (I'm pessimistic sorry haha) I want to finish at least one novel.
Edit: Lalo na ngayong pandemic. Nakakatakot kasi hindi natin alam ang mangyayari kinabukasan. Life is uncertain so do what you want to do now. There's no room for laziness and procrastination, if you really want to finish a novel, write now or else it will be too late and you'll gonna regret it for eternity.

I started writing since I was in Grade 5 after I got inspired by a book that was given to me by my aunt. It was when I realized I had the potential to write and that my extensive vocabulary had its purpose. Kahit na nagki-cringe ako dati sa mga stories na nagawa ko, I still take it as an inspiration so that I can improve and write better.

Me who searched about being a stripper because I wanted to understand what's it like, so I could write about it in my story since my main is one: Uhm....Hi?
level 2 hits different + the fact na may isang book draft ka na nakalaan lang para sa lahat ng mga idea na ayaw kang tantanan na hanggang sa panaginip nag-pplot ka.
also, discovering NANOWRIMO about 8-9 years ago (not sure what year exactly) is the trigger for me to write. i tried for 2 years and failed to finish nor meet the daily quota. last year, i tried again (not officially) and finished it despite all the hiccups of storm, sickness, and power interruptions. it was my proudest accomplishment. i never knew i could push myself to write 50k words in 30 days straight.
ever since, i try to take on challengesㅡthings i initially think i cant do and then do them to the best of my abilities. if i fail, then i can just try again next time. if i succeed, its just another skill unlocked and must continue nurturing.
Level 1: Potential - bookworm, good in words, and you prefer writing than speaking. Writing essays, poems, scripts, and lyrics are easy along with journaling. You always have something to say, naturally curious, feeling weird and different. Collects stories, and keen observer to your surrounding.
Level 2: Intermediate - deeply empathic, every person you meet is a potential character to your story, and search a lot of random facts. Sucker for baby names, easily inspired by books etc., many ideas, and love me-time. A book-hoarder, new words with deep meanings, and a daydreamer.
Level 3: Mastery - you write because you can't live without writing, anywhere there's a story in your head, and a rebel or nonconformist to normal beliefs. Writer's block is nothing, sometimes you don't mind writing for fun, and can't sleep at night 'cause your thinking of a story. Frustrated when your not writing, not afraid to say no, and have a solid writing routine. You feel like writing is your life purpose.

I started writing stories when I was 14. Dati, sulat kamay pa ako dahil hindi pa naman uso noon ang mga computers and internet kaya thankful ako sa wattpad kasi naging way siya para ma-share ko yung mga ideas and imaginations ko. and totoo yung sinabi niya na even though no one reads your stories, mababa yung rank or views, you doesn't care kasi masaya ka sa ginagawa mo. I am already 26 and I still love writing :) Thank you for this nice video!

I was 10 when I became the best scriptwriter of our school way back in elementary. 12 when I first entered writing industry, 13 when I became a journalist student, a member of writerhood, 14 when started writing a novel and now...after editing my manuscript, I'll publish a book too. So much proud of myself.

Natutuwa ako kapag may narinig akong "dialogue-worthy" para sa kin o nakakatuwang sinabi ng isang tao o pag-uusap ng mga tao. Katulad ng dalawang bata na kapit bahay ko nang marinig ko ang pag-uusap nila habang naliligo ako.
B1: "Nakahiga na yong halaman, oh. Natutulog kahit hindi pa gabi."
B2: "Tanghali kasi."

Totoo!!😆 Lahat na lang ng issue na nakikita mo, naiisipan mo ng story, kung ano iyong magandang plot sa tsismis na iyon etc😆
Hindi ako nakakatulog kapag wala akong nasulat sa araw na iyon tapos kapag nanaginip ako, nililista ko iyong mga scenes and iniisip ko na isali iyon sa story na sinusulat ko.

You're descrbing me Demi, TBH almost six years na ako nagsusulat doing my Devotional reading my Bible and I written down the revelation of the Lord He'd given me everyday. Pumasok ako sa wattpad gusto masubokan sumulat ng fiction and my first ever story I wrote was published by abs-cbn and I am praying na mapublish na siya into printed na. But I am into inspirational and Spiritual at may sinusulat ako as of now.
Nagsisimula pa lang ako tapos nakita ko 'tong video na 'to. Nakapasa ako sa level 1, may isang kulang sa level 2 at may dalawang kulang sa level 3. Binibigyan tuloy ako ng gana mag sulat nito ngayong nalaman kong may potential ako. Kaso lang I'm also an artist (self proclaimed) kaya nahihirapan akong ibalanse yung mga passion ko since dalawa silang kailangan ng attention.
I think you can be a writer if you watch a lot of movies and read a lot of stories. Like diba ideas are coming through just by doing so, and if hindi mo isusulat you'll explode. That's why I really write those thoughts and if kakayanin matatapos ko siyang isulat for 3 months sometimes took me a year. Mensan nangyayari kapag nawawalan ka ng ideas and if writer ka talaga babalik at babalikan mo yan

Minsan nasasabihan akong weird ng mga kaibigan ko dahil ang lalim daw ng mga thoughts ko sa mga bagay-bagay. Na mas gusto ko pa daw sa bahay lang kaysa sumama sa kanila sa gala tapos magugulat nalang sila na mas may alam pa ko sa kanila tungkol sa mga nangyayari sa paligid. I'm not a writer , but from the potential to mastery parang dinidescribe na yung sarili ko. Like I'm an introvert and a daydreamer since when I was in Grade 1, di din ako nakakatulog pag di nakakabuo ng story sa isipan ko. I'm also observant sa nangyayari sa paligid ko and pag may mga unique and good experience na nakikita kong reflections inaapply ko yun sa isip ko huhu. Lalo na pag boring tas maingay ang paligid tatahimik lang ako sa gilid pero yung paggawa ng continuation ng story sa isip ko unbothered fictitious na once ginanahan na. Natatakot na din ako minsan baka Di na normal yung mga pinag iisip ko kasi minsan di ko mapigilan ngumiti once na ngumiti dahil sa kiliti Yung character sa imagination ko and naiiyak din ako pag umiiyak din yung characters. Until now, I prefer of doing writing an essay than to have a reporting, kasi through writing mas naeelaborate ko Yung ideas ko. Most of the time Lalo na pag ako lang mag Isa na naglilinis ng bahay Lalo na pag nagwawalis at nagsasampay juskoo Yung utak ko Hahaha minsan nakakapagod din. I'm preferred in watching series but I started to reading in Wattpad now, mas dumami na tuloy ideas ko Feeling ko overloaded na utak ko.
Everytime na may naiimagine ako sinusulat ko agad, iba iba pa yung naiimagine ko tapos pinagtatagpi tagpi ko iyon hanggang sa nakabuo ako ng isang plot.

So, i think kailangan kong makakilala ng mas marami pang writers at kailangan ma-meet ko sila in person at maidagdag sa list of kakwentuhan ko.

Knowing this, mas matapang n kong magsulat ngayon. Hindi katulad dati. I have to consider so many things kaya i cant think and write out of the box. Just imagine mula 2005 nagsusulat n ako pero i only have 5 books n na-published?
Kaya here i am, bumabalik sa una kong pag-ibig. Ang magsulat. Hindi dahil malaki na ang bayad sa paggawa ng novels ngayon kundi dahil mahal ko ang ginagawa ko.

This inspired me a lot. I was writing stories since when I was in high school. Wala pang wattpad noon, I'm just collecting notebooks na di na nagagamit at dun ko sinusulat lahat. Ngayong may wattpad na, gusto ko na e-publish mga story ko at sayo ako na inspire na wag sumuko. Now I know, belong pala ako sa level 2 of intermediate😅
I'm an introvert and eversince I was a kid, reading and writing are my hobbies. I started writing when I was in grade 5. Yung daydreaming talaga, till now ganyan parin ako, ket di na ko nagsusulat gawa ng I'm a working student, sa imagination and sa keep notes ko lang natatambak yung mga ideas ko. Earphone lang nagbibigay sakin ng excuse kung bat ako napeface-out bigla. Also, books and songs are my references sa mga story ideas ko.
When I was young, my dream was to become a writer. I remember mahilig akong magsulat ng poems, shorts stories, and journal as well. But As time goes by dumami influences sa paligid that lead me to forget about it.

Ang daming ideas na tumatakbo sa isip ko, but sometimes, it felt so hard to express it. Like, ang daming plots, sa tuwing nakakaisip ako ng bagong plots, I felt very excited. As in! But once I start to write it out, hindi ko mai-express ng maayos ang mga gusto ko mangyari.
May teacher ako na nagsabi dati na " Para masabing isa kang writeR, dapat magaling kang magpublic speaking."
Tapos ako na takot magpublic speaking, at nagsstutter, at halos wala ng sense sinasabi ko kapag nagpupub. speak, pero mahilig ako magsulat, at alam ko sa sarili ko na sobrang unique ng mga ideas na naiisip ko. Ay tuluyang nawalan ng confidence magsulat, at tuluyan narin tumigil sa pagsusulat dahil sa sinabi na yon ng teacher ko. Ako kase ung tao na sobrang baba ng confidence, tapos nasa bingit nako ng tuluyang pagkawala nung confi na yon ng sinabi pa ng teachr ko yon.

Im 15 yrs old and na inspired ako sa mga mangga books na mag sulat at mag draw since 8 yrs old hilig ko talaga mag drawing at mag sulat ng mga journal tapos may plano akong seryusohin tung ginagawa kong story ngaun mostly sa mga sinabi mo po level one to level two relatable ako huhu baka sign na talaga ito gusto ko maging mangga writer or author talaga ng isang kwento balang araw i hope na tuloy tuloy tung ginagawa ko huhu
