Great question! The wiper cap threads onto the seal head so if there is no pressure in the reservoir the seal head might turn under the retaining ring. In other words, the pressure pushes the seal head against the retaining rings and creates enough friction that you can un-thread the wiper cap.
This has been super helpful in understanding the construction of a shock! Looking forward to more videos!
Thank you for the feedback, more to come for sure!
What shock oil are you using?
Could you please do a comprehensive video on ORI’s?? Bleepin Jeep, Matt’s Off-road Recovery, Fab Rats etc all use ORI’s every single day. Thank You! ❤
What are you using (cleaning agent) in your ultrasonic cleaner?
How often do ADS shocks need to be rebuilt?
Great format. Awesome content. thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you!
Get some smooth jaw knipex pliers, they work great for jobs like that and no scratches.
I will look into that, haven't seen those before and all we use is Knipex. Thanks!
you talk about the pressure needed to remove the whiper cap, but i don't understand why?
