What a cracking gift ! You guys definitely have the best production value of any videos I have watched, 8bit guy does pretty good too. I got my first computer in 1984 and it was a c-64. I loved that computer and every month I would ride my bike to the store and buy the magazine "Compute! Gazette" and sit at my c-64 and manually type in the programs from the magazine. I am a very nostalgic type of guy and a huge fan of the c-64, it is fun watching all the gadgets and gizmos that have been made to bring a 40 year old computer into the 2020's. My puppy (Puppyfox?) used to jump to attention when I would start a question with those words (“do you want to go outside?”, “do you want something to eat?”, etc.). It got so that I only had to excitedly ask “do you?” and she would get so excited and happy for whatever it could possibly mean.🐶💕

Nice timing, i was actually playing "Ninja Baseball Bat Man" with two friends yesterday (the same day you uploaded this video) on a Raspberry Pi 3 with Retropie, and i agree that real hardware is preferable, but arcade cabinets are very expensive and takes up alot of space. Also it is alot easier bringing a Raspberry PI (or other emulation device) to a friend compared to a huge "Ninja Baseball Bat Man" machine (if you happen to own one of the 1042 ever made) XD
I think the SX-64 was actually the first kind of C64 I ever encountered. My Uncle had one. He was in the Royal Navy and used to bring all sorts of cool things back from foreign parts.
I know, you said that you don’t like emulation, but have you hear of the GPi? It‘s a Raspberry Pi Zero based handheld with the looks of the original Game Boy. I love that little device very much and it handles Game Boy (Color), NES, SNES, Master System and Mega Drive (i.e. Genesis for our American friends) like a charm ☺️
I'm gonna have to dig out my SX-64 again soon and find some more games to play on it. It's a fun little machine, and probably the most valuable piece of retro equipment I ever got for free.

The handheld emulator is the RG450 and runs a version of linux that think is called "Open Dingus". The manufacturer does not install the roms - I think the distributors install them. There should be a C64/C128 emulator on that. I thought about getting one for C64 emulation through HDMI.
