- Just between you and me, I think Italy might be a bit too strong in the new HOI4 Update.
Yes, somehow Italy of all countries from WW2 is the most broken in all of Hearts of Iron 4.
We really have come full circle, from the most incompetent country in World War 2 with a terrible focus tree to the most OP with one of the best focus trees in HOI4.
So get the Pope ready, cause it's Roman Empire time.
The new Italy in the newest HOI4 DLC, By Blood Alone got a lot of new features, but there is one ultimate one with a secret path.
It's time to make the Papal States in HOI4, but with a twist!
This Pope isn't stopping at Rome and Italy, this Pope will revive the Roman Empire and make a based Italy.
Just this time around the Pope is ginger and is getting all Italy achievements in Hearts of iron 4.

I dont think that how it works actually. I think you need to have the jets unlocked and then it will create a variant of it. Idk 100%tho

Even if the Soviet Union died, you could just release them and murder them for the achievement. I conquered the USSR before the Pope took over in my game so I released them and conquered them a second time and got the achievement.

Tommy, countries like Turkey become majors because there has to be a certain amount of majors (8 I think) so when a major country capitulates, major status is given to the biggest available minor (excluding subjects).

I played as the papal states until 1948 and I got an event about the prince coming of age and it forced him to be the leader. Couldn't change back.

Im new to hoi4 and got the base game only when it was on sale some weeks ago. Apart from playing the game i also looked at the different commands. I found 2 different commands for research. So if you use the research all command, it seems, some kind of hidden technologies are researched instantly too. But now i don't know what to do with them. I just wanted an ultra tech country but now i don't whats the best tech, also because i have no idea about for example bike divisions or amphibious tanks. Are they listed somewhere so i can find out which is best and what to use it for? E. g. there are two typed of trains and i dont know if can use them in the same way
There are two types of trains one aromed train then regular train and cheaper regular train they are both used the same way and amfib division would be like marines or the other amfib vechiles and the bosues they would get are for crossing rivers and naval invasions
