Rallis he had a lot more in the books, he showed in Goblet of Fire, Order of the Phoenix and Half Blood Prince, he was nowhere to be found in those films.
The only ones who cried over Dobby just told me "noooo Dobby is cute" no sympathy over the character and it's downfall, if Dobby didn't appear in the 7th movie thst would've been it for him. Alternatively, his death serves so much stronger in the book series
What? are you literally a sociopath? Dobby is a beloved character. His death regardless of screentime was a tragedy felt by nearly all-- except you of course.
Was I the only one who thought that the films took too many chances at making Ron dumber and sillier than his book counterpart, as well as boosting up Hermione's stance yet again, which is kind of a thing the films do a lot of as well. On a side note, I am dreadfully curious as to what Voldemort's kissing curse would be like......
sonic8005 no, this is a common complaint. Rons character was the sacrificial lamb in the borderline feminist overpowering of Hermione in the films. In the books, their contributions to Harry is about 50/50. In the movies, Hermione does everything and Ron is reduced to exposition for wizard world customs.
Bit late but there’s a great video essay by (I think) Emily sowers on UA-cam called something like “Harry Potter and the reconstruction of character” about this topic, she makes some great points about how hermione was ruined
No, ron still does a decnt amount in the movie, but like with lord of the rings, the filmakers proabbly felt that their accomplishments in the books should cut down due to a disinterest im the chracter or actor.
Nitpicking can be good. However it’s when the review isn’t about the film what so ever. It’s just a constant comparison on the books. The reasons why people who read the books don’t enjoy this series is because all they do is just compare to the books and get annoyed when things in the books aren’t included. Like they’re expecting a 1:1 comparison of the books and films when the books take days to read. And films need to be clearly condensed. For the material given: I feel as if they did well with the time given because of the need for more films from the public
If we're talking about the films instead of the books, Ron and Hermoine were like bickering siblings all the time, and Harry and Ginny together was just awful. Hermoine and Harry always seemed to have the stronger connection and chemistry on screen. And I don't really understand the argument about it being some kind of original formula. All kind of romances have been done before, from incest, to insane age gaps. Characters are more important than not trying to copy what's also been done before.
It's very disappointing because Harry and Ginny were a beautiful fit in the books, and their relationship was built up really well over time. Same with Ron and Hermione. I completely blame the directors for ruining those couples. I feel like if someone is going to direct a film that is an adaptation of a book series, they have to ship the canon couples, because the movies are going to have to end the same way as the books so why push for something that can't happen? There were so many random added scenes that were pushing Harry and Hermione in the movies that are not in the books. They also destroyed both Ginny and Ron's characters in the movies, making them both seem useless and dull, (which is an outrage to me because Ginny is my favorite character in the books) so it makes sense that people who have only seen the films would ship the two main characters that are hyped up the most by the directors: Harry and Hermione. It's annoying because Harry is clear in the books that he loves her like a sister.
Some comments: -The Durselys' deleted scenes are some of my favorite. I think the film could have opened with the dialogue with Petunia in silence, and then slowly cue into the "opening scene"... It would have introduced the tone and then the montage would have been the "Umph," the climax of the opening, finally driving the point home. -THE FACT THAT THEY DIDN'T INTRODUCE THAT TONKS IS PREGNANT. FUCK. THIS WOULD GIVE LUPIN'S CHARACTER SO MANY MORE LAYERS AND THEN WE WOULD HAVE ACTUALLY GIVEN A SHIT WHEN HE DIES. Also a huge missed opportunity to have that argument between Harry and Lupin, which would have been a fantastic character moment for both of them. -The worst part of this film imo is the fact that they don't go into Dumbledore's backstory. Truly one of the most heartbreaking parts of the entire story, cementing Harry's loss of innocence when his mentor falls from grace. It's also the element of the story that ultimately makes Harry stand out as the braver and the better of the two men, rising above the teacher to become the master, and being truly virtuous in the face of moral ambiguity. -Don't you talk shit about my man Dobby. -I honestly love the forest scenes. The trio has been thrown out into the real world, and are, like the poet Dante and quite literally as well, lost in the woods. The forest represents their struggle, their confusion, and their despondency. -The dancing scene is one of my favorites. Turned me into a Nick Cave fan, and O Children is one of my favorite songs of all time. Makes me wax nostalgic about the time in my life when I first heard it. -FUUUUUUCK HERE COMES MY MAN BRIAAAAAN -The foot chase would have been made ten times more intense with the original score included: thundering taiko drums galore. -Wormtail's death from the book would have been so fucking heavy. Seriously disappointed in the way they handled it. -That ending though. Fucking incredible. Just another reason why this film is the best of the franchise.
26:00 JK never originally intended to get Harry and Hermione together though. She just said Harry and Hermione are a better match in SOME ways (can not stress how important the some is in that sentence). Solid video otherwise, this misconception just bothers me
I freaking love part 2. Part 1 fails to stand on its own, but I think that's a necessary compromise to make. The before the storm tension and oppression can be felt in every frame.
There's a spell (*Scourgify*) which cleans up mess such as owl droppings and mucus. I don't think it would be out of the question for it to clean dirt and grease.
I think a lot of stuff that gets cut from the books to the film adaptations is usually fine. There’s certainly some ones that do make a toll on the plot (Peeves, Percy as a character, lot of Dumbledore/Voldemort backstory stuff etc), but a lot of things the Potterheads wanted was really pointless, padded, meaningless stuff for the sake of world building.
Good video, but I disagree about the Lupin/ministry of magic take over comparison. The Lupin sub-plot never really goes anywhere, and thus is something that makes to sense to be cut out of a film adaptation. It is a nice detail, but not essential. For films, however, it is important to be able to show the big picture, which the ministry takeover does succeeds at.
William Wehrs Fair comment, perhaps it was a subplot Rowling thought hard on initially, then realised she had too many loose ends to tie up with everything else that she just kills them off. I think Lupins appearance just exposes a darker nature to him that we never saw in his human form.
I have a theory on why the Petunia scene was deleted. Now, it's a good scene, but it comes over like Petunia is revealing to Harry that Lily is her sister. BUT HARRY, AND THE VIEWER, ALREADY KNOW THIS! I could be wrong, after all, it's just a theory. 7:46 - Also, fans at the time were petitioning to have Helena Bonham Carter play Andromeda in the movie due to her being described as looking like Bellatrix. And I have to say, I would've loved to see how that would've played out in the movie. Shame the scene wasn't shot.
Alice Pope-Terry Imagine that a Mars bar is your favourite chocolate bar. You love it. It's the one you'd usually eat. But you like a Milky Way every once in a while. Then someone comes up to you and says "No" and slaps the Milky Way out of your hand. "You must only ever eat Mars bars." You'd get pretty sick of Mars bars after a while wouldn't you?
So late to the party, but I have a question. During the dogfight, isn't Harry unconscious when his wand, of its own accord, blasts Voldemort? He looks completely out knocked out. My take away here was about the intelligence and power of the wands and the relationship that Harry's wand has with Voldemort's wand.
Solid video pal, definitely your best Harry Potter one. That extra really cracks me up. The Deathly Hallows is a garbage overrated book, the movie improved on a few things but this is for sure my least favourite potter film. The opening is pretty solid but the trio's writing and performances aren't good enough to really sustain engagement.
I agree, I've read the book twice and the only reason I did was because I totally forgot that I read it already. And read it the second time I knew that I unconsciously decided to forget since it was so bad (well if it was worth than that I would have I remember to actually not read it).
How did they manage to build the Weasley house? Dude, they’ve showcased spells that can rebuild objects back to their original state in the last movie, this would be more of a nuisance if anything, probably wouldn’t take over an hour or so to rebuild everything.
The jump scare was a tad unnecessary and the voice you use for the critic is so grating that I end up skipping those sections. Other than that I love these videos
I can see why they hardly use Polyjuice potion in this movie, if they stuck to the book, Radcliffe would've hardly been in it. Also I thought that potion to months to make, they just seem to magic it out of thin air.
Maybe the kids room is to represent the 2 horcruxes there because harry became a horcrux in his room as a child and nagini is also a horcrux just an idea
You just realised this?!... I'm not saying I'm some brilliant person who instantly picks up on every similarity between plot devices in movies or books, but.... Damn. It's pretty obvious! Good on you for saying this, I'm sure there are people who wouldn't mention that they just realised it, probably for fear of some arsehole like me writing a reply like this.
DH part 1 is just a drama movie, making situations worse. That movie was like those Bangladesh/Indian shows where all actors get into an argument, crying and dramatic music always occur in the background
The death of Dobby lacked a lot of impact to me in the film because of his nonexistent screentime outside of the chamber of secrets.
In the 4th film Dobby and Winky actually appeared but only like 3 sec.
@@mozartcastellanosGK yeah not many people see it lol but he and winky are in the 4th film
What? are you literally a sociopath? Dobby is a beloved character. His death regardless of screentime was a tragedy felt by nearly all-- except you of course.
I never noticed that George stuck the toothbrush right into the wound. That's pretty insane.
Was I the only one who thought that the films took too many chances at making Ron dumber and sillier than his book counterpart, as well as boosting up Hermione's stance yet again, which is kind of a thing the films do a lot of as well.
On a side note, I am dreadfully curious as to what Voldemort's kissing curse would be like......
sonic8005 It's like the dementors kiss but instead gives you dementia
Are there any spells to heal that sick burn?
sonic8005 no, this is a common complaint. Rons character was the sacrificial lamb in the borderline feminist overpowering of Hermione in the films. In the books, their contributions to Harry is about 50/50. In the movies, Hermione does everything and Ron is reduced to exposition for wizard world customs.

I think the George scene is hilarious cause it’s so akward 😂
Freddy Thompson Moss I don't know why he didn't like it, I thought it was funny😅
He sticks his tooth brush in his non existing ear
When you marathon all the HP did it suck in one day and the new one comes out you like hellllllllllll yaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Your reviews can be a bit nitpicky, but I enjoy them a lot nonetheless. Solid stuff.
Yeah man, Nitpicking is the worst in reviews.
HoustonProductions1 There's nothing wrong with some nitpicking.
Nitpicking can be good. However it’s when the review isn’t about the film what so ever. It’s just a constant comparison on the books. 21:02 I didn't notice how weird that extra was before. That's hilarious.
Can't wait for part 2 :D, marathonning all these while doing art is awesome and some of those backtracks got stuck in my head!

So they go to the Xenomorphs house
*JK Rowling’s original notes on that part of the book*

And? It's just ...
I think this might be a good time to mention I can't read
Hahaha, you know it's a Moving Castle review when you hear the soundtrack from the film as the intro music, or Honeyhive Galaxy from Mario Galaxy
Mint Dragon I know it‘s a Moving Castle review already when I click on it
26:00 JK never originally intended to get Harry and Hermione together though. She just said Harry and Hermione are a better match in SOME ways (can not stress how important the some is in that sentence). Solid video otherwise, this misconception just bothers me
Oh my god, that Dark Souls 2 music... ^^
For goodness sake, Rowling never said Harry should have married Hermione. That interview has been misquoted so many times.
38:01 "They pass Harry's family house in the same rouined state it was after voldemort's kissing curse bac--- Kissing?! *Sigh*
I absolutely love all these Harry Potter reviews! Your the most underrated UA-camr I've seen.
30:50 "Harry's long dead descendant..."
Umm wut? You mean ancestor right?
I’m soooo excited!!! Thank you so much!!!!
Destroyer of story arcs 😂😂
I freaking love part 2. Part 1 fails to stand on its own, but I think that's a necessary compromise to make. The before the storm tension and oppression can be felt in every frame.
Why disapparate when you can have shaky cam chase scenes in the forest!
Brilliant video. But from now on i’m always going to associate that weird chase in the forest with samba de verão. 33:48 thanks bro
HHHHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYPPPPPPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!
Finally! Really well done, worth the wait.
Yeah, I agree
Can't wait for the final instalment. Love your review videos.
Your videos are lit

LiveHedgehog Scourgify? Does that mean there's also a spell called "Spotify" that summons hipster music on site?
one of the guys in the group with dean thomas and griphook was tom tonks, the muggle-born who is nymphodora's dad
This was defiantly worth the wait 😅😅 especially the bloopers!
Nice, Dark Souls music. Thanks for bringing back those repressed memories.

My don, Harry
I've been waiting for this one for a while; very nice
Amazing video yet again! Thank you so much harry. Absolutely loved it

Woah wait... Was that... Was that a flash of blue I saw? Does Ravenclaw merchandise actually exist?
Mari of the Shire I have a ravenclaw phone case
i have a mug
I have a ravenclaw blanket
I have a hoodie
THERE YOU ARE!!!!!!!
Seriously, most hyped video for me
YES! I was waiting for this, hope part 2 wont take long!
You are merciless, dude.
I think I am in love.
When’s part 2? Great job with this video 👍🏼
Never clicked on a video to do with the deathly hallows Part 1 so quickly before In my life
i just came down here to say how much i LOVED your usage of "redbone" during the ministry part 😎
Yes, thought you forgotten about these for a moment there, cheers for the video
The leader of the snatchers looks like Davey Havok
My gosh this took a while, THANKS MANG!
Can't stop watching this amazing video. I don't want this series to end 😭
lawfulneptune14 It's not ending just yet, planning on doing the same to Lord of the Rings next year.
11:35 I'm pretty sure it's in the intro to Sherlock as well
Aw man! A 40 minute video. *Grabs popcorn*
11:46 Welcome to my life.
I thought you liked doctor who?

Votesaxon07 Reviews, great explanation.
Brian, I'm guessing you're joking.
+Happy Industries - That user is literally using the name and image of the nitpicky fanboy HMC uses in his videos. You didn't notice?
I didn’t even know about what happened to Regulus Black and Creature. I would have loved to see that in the movie.
Dayum, didn’t know there was entire Potter playlist, brb gonna watch em all first.

7:20 it was the enchantments that the order of the Phoenix put on the burrow, and Voldemort couldn’t get past them.
Love these videos man. So well made. Hope to see your next one soon
I've been waiting for this for sooo longgg!!!
4:30 wasn't Dodge also in the Order?
The Death Eaters are stopping the Hogwarts Express because they’re looking for Harry and they thought he was gonna be there

WHERE THE FRICK IS PART 2!!!!!!!!
Great as always!
FINALLY THANK YOU HARRY
FINALLY! Well worth the wait!

Where is part 2? :(
Been waiting for this since January
Yay I was waiting forever for this
23:03
*Flashbacks to Goblin Slayer*
ALL GOBLINS MUST DIE!!!
MERLINS BEARD!! I thought the day would never come!!
I've been waiting MONTHS for this and you post it when I'm going to bed and have work all day tomorrow? Not cool man
What would have happened if the Golden Trio (Harry, Hermy, Hron) had had to contend w/ the One Ring instead ?
The jump scare was a tad unnecessary and the voice you use for the critic is so grating that I end up skipping those sections. Other than that I love these videos
I am so excited to watch this!
Voldemort's Kissing Curse... what a time to be alive xD
They should make a harry potter tv show. Every episode can be a chapter. Bunch of seasons. Many episodes, billions and billions
Your wish has been granted
Bro the Mario Galaxy music took me back
WHEN IS PART 2? !
Today is the 10 Year Anniversary of Deathly Hallows Part 1.
I suppose I'm staying up 30 minutes later tonight!
where is the last part??!!?! :O
At 23:43 I thought you were making a joke and you’d just done a good editing job
The entire Part 1 of Deathly Hallows is nothing but just sad faces, always and always.
Yeah the lupin sounds fairly over the top, so I get why that was cut and replaced with scenes showing the death eaters slowly taking over.
I love how Dudley and harry make up in the book it’s one of the greatest secens
Are you a mad man? 38 min review of HP. Hell yea
Lmao at the extra. I died. Why don't you have more view
‘Brian just give up’ um I think you mean Maurice moss
Still disappointed that Bellatrix didn't have a one-liner like "Stick around" or "Knife to see you" when she threw that knife at Dobby.
"I think that house-elf got the POINT!"
As fun as that would be, I don't think she knee for sure if the knife hit dobby.
Sticks and stones may break my bones but knives are more efficient.
Yessssssssssssss! Another one
WTF happened to the Part 2 video? It get deleted for some reason?
just realised R.A.B's locket is basically the ring and Harry/Frodo and Ron/Samwise
You just realised this?!... I'm not saying I'm some brilliant person who instantly picks up on every similarity between plot devices in movies or books, but.... Damn. It's pretty obvious! Good on you for saying this, I'm sure there are people who wouldn't mention that they just realised it, probably for fear of some arsehole like me writing a reply like this.
is part 2 ever gonna happen?
ffs just binged watched this entire review series only to find out the very last part is missing, what a fucking cock squeeze
He did say he finished the last video on his twitter and was editing it as of March 1, but who knows when it will be posted.
Deathly hallows part 1 is probably my favorite one (tied with movie 3&8)
DH part 1 is just a drama movie, making situations worse. That movie was like those Bangladesh/Indian shows where all actors get into an argument, crying and dramatic music always occur in the background
Well. It's about damn time.
When does the next part come out?
