dembele was always loved and we always wanted and hoped he would do good

He was brilliant in situations where nobody else could score, such as against lowblocks, but he was available every other decade 😂
We praise him because he would score goals with both feet and was arguably the most technical winger last year being able to make chance after chance but with raphina we don’t have that since he can’t provide what dembele provided for Lewa.

In my opinion, Barcelona’s biggest problem has been not just the attack and defense, they’re lacking a defensive midfielder and I’ll explain why that position is so important and so sought after in world football right now.
As elite as a team Manchester City are, there’s one thing that’s very noticeable in their team which is that they seem to struggle every time Rodri has been unavailable as they’ve lost every game in his absence this season and you’ve seen the transformative impact that Declan Rice has had on Arsenal and in terms of consistency he’s arguably been the best player in the premier league this season. I don’t think anybody has mentioned how big of a miss Sergio Busquets has been for Barcelona because you look at the profile of their midfielders, Pedri Frenkie de Jong and Ilkay Gundogan excellent players but none of them fit the profile this team needs which is a pure ball winner and Oriol Romeu is the only player that fits this profile but he has been in poor form and just imagine if they had a very good defensive midfielder if Pedri was next to a player like Rodri, or Frenkie de Jong was next to Declan Rice they would absolutely flourish because off the ball that’s not their game. What Xavi needs is the right profile of the players he wants for example a proper defensive midfielder or a prolific goalscorer. I think people need to start following football games from a tactical perspective and have a better understanding of the game and their roles to their team, because Barcelona just doesn’t have a quality CDM who’s not just defensive minded, they can also contribute to the attacking aspect of their game.
Very Good Analysis my friend, might i just add, Barcelona and Xavi's tactics both rely on a good CDM. this season xavi has been forced to use a weaker squad with the departure of busquets and dembele who were key players for the team. Also to add on your point of the goalscorer, i dont think the team lacks a goalscorer per se I think that we lack wingers who prioritize the assist instead of wasting chances shooting from miles away much like dembele i think his presence is missed a bit more than most fans realize. I believe if we used attacking midfielders on the wings like pep used grealish and silva we'd be able to create more chances and clearer chances for lewandowski.
If you are a coach,not a great one just an average coach,you build your team strategy based on your team/ player’s capabilities,qualities,and not trying to force the players to play in your style if they not capable or they losing they strength. The current Barca have no proper replacement of Busquets. So what could be a solution,either buy one ,if you can’t or don’t want to buy one than change the system. Play a double pivot. Frenkie used to play as double pivot,Romeu played in a double pivot system,Roberto could do the same..etc… not difficult. If you have no proper wingers ( as it is the situation now at Barca ,since Xavi get rid off two youngsters ( Ilias and Abde) ,actually three of them since he get rid off Collado as well. We struggling also with a main striker who can’t score,but always starts the game since he have no competition. He get rid off Dest,saying he is not understanding the tactics ( Dest is not the only one,actually maybe none of the players and fans understand the tactics,if we have any tactics) . Xavi already spent around 300 millions,he also still crying for Bernardo Silva,but the team have zero quality single pivot player. Everyone knew the fact ,if Sergio leave ,the team will need a high quality pivot to fill the hole what he will leave behind. But what we got ? Lewa instead of Aubameyang ,we got Ferran,we got Alonso,we got Gündogan,Kounde,Inigo,Raphinha,Bellerin…..and finally Romeu….
At the moment the team have problem everywhere. The front line unable to score ,doesn’t matter how big chances they have. There isn’t even a tiny sign of improvement there comparing to the Koeman ‘s era. The same slow clueless attack,and we spent around 150-180 millions on attackers to strengthen that area. The defence is not better than it was with Pique,Roberto Alba and Araujo/Eric Garcia.. And we got Inigo,Christensen,Kounde,Alonso to strengthen the defence. Xavi said the team is lacking of creative midfielders ( after he forced Puig out,let Monchu and Nico gone and sent Pablo Torre on loan) ,and he kind of forced the club to get more midfielder,so we got Gündogan,and the team is still lacking of creativity. Even more than before. That roughly 300 millions what the club spent,could have been spent on high quality players ,From that money the club could get Zubimendi and Moscardo as pivots,Get Victor Eoque as attacker,get a young talented lef and right back and a cb as well. He forced Fati out also,not giving proper time for the youngster to regain his form,while he gave plenty of time and chances to Ferran,and he is doing the same with Raphinha,and Lewa.
So shortly he could came up with a new idea,spend the money more wisely…. The form of the team is bad,and still some starter players are untouchables,that’s a joke. What will the new generation learn? You could be shit as hell,but if the coach likes you ,you gonna start every game?

Sergi Roberto can definitely play as a CDM when he's playing at his usual position, RB, he barely does anything but him as a midfielder performs very good and he was apart of that Barca Tiki-Taka era he definitely knows every tactic and Pedri, De Jong and Gavi can focus on the attack, and Sergi can definitely contribute to the attack.
With that said, now we need a right-back, Dest is playing amazingly at PSV, so a player like Arnau Martinez will contribute to the team as he's very cheap and knows how to play this Tiki-Taka style cause Girona are playing like prime Barca and we need to sign Felix, and Sergi, MATS are the captains we need, last match Sergi Roberto motivated the team at half time to win against Almeria, MATS does the same too

At the start of season gavi-Frenkie pivot seemed like the answer to the busquet problem. But alas, luck is not on their side to have them again for most of season. But still I think Barca has enough quality to overcome this season, just need a couple of good performance, a spark from where they can build again. We have seen it couple season before barca was SHIT under Koeman but still caught up at the end of season.Mind you this team is young and very so, has generational talents. Even if they fail this season they will get more experience for next season. The only reason why Xavi is in hot water rn, is cause he won the league in his first full season. People often underestimates crucial players leaving from midfield, we saw Liverpool struggled, city are struggling and Barcelona lost a goat level CDM, it's natural to lose quality when the orchestrator is replaced.
I honestly think that Lewy never improved the team, Xavi had to adapt for his playing style. If Auba hsd same amount of matches, he would have had similar stats if not better. The OG Xavi ball suits a explosive runner type Striker, let's hope Vitor can provide that.
Kane and Benzema are great examples of being a mix between a pure striker and a false 9. They linkup well with their wingers and can create from a deeper position. Lewandowski is used to just finishing chances and getting service, which is definitely not the type of #9 Barça are used to. Eto'o and Messi as false 9 were lethal

I really don't think xavi is the problem. We can see his vision and intention very clearly, it's just the unfortunate timing of multiple players under performing at the same period of time, also plus injuries. Like against girona, we played well, create a lot of chances and Xg, but multiple players did an error and wasting chances at the same time. #xavistays

Xavi is not the problem. Not the coaches problem the team can not convert the chances. The issue is ffp, money and not getting the players we want cause ffp doesn’t allow it. i think a change in Coaching staff might be the first step to give Xavi a different perspective Óscar is family i get it, but let Rafa Márquez sit next to them give him the opportunity to speak his opinion. he might not be as experienced but i might have a different point of view to help the team.
This is a great point, but I just don’t really see it happening. He could use the support of a more experienced coach, but Xavi may find his footing because he has shown brilliance at times, just not enough.
Dont forget that almost every team is moving their teams to play pressing and ball retention football. Everyone has to figure out the best way to play against a similar styled team.

Barcelona’s problems this season has been more of a collective issue rather than a coaching problem as there’s been a lot of injuries and certain players are simply out of form and they’re just not playing well yet Xavi is getting all the blame for their problems. With the talent they have available to them, they just haven’t been good enough this season and they haven’t played well not just lately but even when they were getting results there was always a feeling that they weren’t playing at their best. It’s great that Xavi has installed this mentality in this Barcelona team where they’re able to win games even without being at their best as that’s what won them La Liga last season as they did well in a transitional period and did more of the same at the start of this season, but after a while this was just never sustainable as they can’t keep digging out results like that every time as the defense has conceded more goals this season than last season and offensively they’re bland going forward. I never believed that relying on old school defending was gonna work as it worked last season but now you see the cracks that Barcelona have and it’s not like if they hire any top manager all of a sudden, their problems will be fixed. Barcelona this season have been having the same problems that they had years ago under previous managers and initially Xavi did a good job but now there’s a belief that they need a new manager in order to take this team back to a level that they were at before. The football isn’t good enough there seems to be a lack of cohesion creativity and chemistry at Barcelona as it seems like individuals have bailed them out a lot. A lot is going wrong for this team right now and if they end up going trophy-less this season then I think we need to ask some serious questions about Xavi’s credentials at Barcelona.

The lack of pressure when not in possession is what is costing Barcelona the most. Of course not scoring has a lot to do with it but, keeping the Highline is something Barca has always done and where they have suffered but it hasn't mattered because when you score 5+ goals per game, conceding 2 or 3 is not even a big deal and not worth mentioning or talking about it but, when you retain possession for 60+% for 90 minutes and still lose by 2 or more goals to one, well, the comments will be the talk of the town and the world.
By the life of me, I don't understand why Xavi is not putting more effort in the recovery or if he is, nobody is giving a crap about it and disrespecting him so, either way, he needs to grow a bigger sack and sit a few guys until it is his way or the benchway.

It always makes me laugh when I hear cules talk about replacing Xavi with Arteta or Rafa Marquez. Firstly, look how much time and money Arteta needed before he started cooking at Arsenal, he'd never get that at Barca and he'd have zero respect because you know that the first time he drops points to a Granada or Alaves, Mundo/Sport will start circulating a fails comp of Arteta in his time at la masia lol. Honestly I hope for his own that Arteta stays away from the job at Barca. As for Marquez, have y'all watched Barca Atletic play? The players are performing badly, the whole team is playing badly. We are disjointed, we can't maintain possession to save our lives and every team looks like prime Bayern when playing against us. Not every single thing can be put on Xavi but when a team plays like this, and not just any team btw, this is a team of proven superstars, most of these senior players are proven way before Xavi came to Barca as a manager, if this was an inexperienced team of non-world class players all of these excuses would've made sense but for this particular team, they don't.

I think the game yesterday was a perfect example of the fact it isn’t really Xavi so much as bad circumstances out of his control; Araujo is making mistakes, Koundé is underperforming. Romeu is a joke. Felix is…an enigma. We really should’ve been having a contingency plan for him *years* ago.

The problem with Barca is not the play style, nor Lewa, it's mostly on Xavi and the defense, the reason they succeeded last season was because of Xavi's mix of catenaccio and tiki taka football, they would play a low block when out of possession and with the ball they would attack quickly and move into space, the reason it worked was because they had the players to do it, Araujo and Kounde are stella CBs with a wall like Ter Stegen made scoring against them impossible and Kounde, Ter Stegen and Araujo are good with the ball at their feet which allowed large amounts of space creation with forwards pressing them giving easy passing chances to Gavi, Busquets, Pedri and De Jong who could set up goals for the attack or score themselves. Now Ter Stegen is injured and Araujo and Kounde are out of shape because....well everyone has a rough patch, the same thing happened to Real, that's why we won the league so easily last season, even if they didn't have some off days we'd have won. beyond that, we have signed some new players like Gundogan, Cancelo and Felix and they need time to mesh with the rest of the playing 11 this season, even still in a few games I can see Barca kick things off again and with these very talented players I feel we can compete.
