We always planted carrots in our fall garden (we always had spring/summer and fall gardens), and sometimes they just came out smaller for whatever reason, whether too much or not enough water.

Hey Nikoline the most important part of growing carrots is working the soil. You need to get a shovel and really dig into the earth to loosen it up remove any rocks or roots and make sure to plant in loose soil. Everything else seems to be good maybe a little more space and you will get a full size harvest
