I thought i knew everything about bionicle but this is the first time ive heard of these robots. Thank you for making this video it felt like bionicle was still continuing to this day.
Some people believe that the baterra were originally planned to be released in the 2010 waves before the cancelation as a gladiator sized figure as the white "canister" figure of that year due to how it actually looked a figure with alot of recognizible part and prototype speeda demon had a helmet that looked almost identical to the ones depicted in the comic aside from fins on each side of the head.
Based on Farshtey's outline of the script for the 5th movie it seems likely that the Element Lords were supposed to be the canister villains of 2010. But as the story team didn't get to pitch anything to the design team before the cancelation, it seems as though there was basically nothing further planned for 2010 than that bit of plot threads.
@@Makutros I thought 2010 story line was about Mata nui and friends getting stuck on Bota Magna but finding the missing pieces of the prototype robot and returning to Bara Magna. I thought the 2 canister waves would have been new verisons of mata nui and co along the with natives of Bota Magna
@@diegodankquixote-wry3242 the script Greg Farshtey wanted to pitch on the day he learned Bionicle was going to be cancelled was about Mata Nui and his friends venturing into the valley of the maze and encountering the element lords. The movie would have ended with Mata Nui activating a transportation device that would bring them to Bota Magna. So the Bota Magna adventures would have been 2011's story.

I've been working on some original MOCS of the 12 Glatorian canister sets for a good while now, and one of my next projects is of a Baterra, made a combination of the best pieces from the well known mocs of these machines.
