    Top Secret is awesome. They have Team work. The whole idea is to be 1 Drum 1 sound. Best drum corp. if they can compete with the HRM Royal Marines they can beat anybody. That was an awesome video too. Cheers.

    To Osukmunkyo. These people are extremely talented. Regarding the roll, if you listen carefully, they stopped the roll just before becoming closed, then opened it out again and slowed down. This is difficult enough for a solo drummer, let alone a large team like this.
    Just enjoy, and dont criticise. I have been playing the snare for over 50 years and would give anything to be included in this team for one performance.
    Take care.

    In my opinion, I like the location. You can see all of it and see what they're doing, where as other videos I have seen it zooms in/out a lot and you miss a lot of the cool stuff they do.

    I agree, for sound, not the best venue.I don't know about everybody else, but one of the main reasons i watch is for the visual effect and not necessarily the sound.

    It was fun, nice to be close to the performance so yes, you can see the cool stick work. But, in terms of sound, not the best venue. Ceiling was very low so everything was very loud, including the audience. It was also very crowded. Good pints, good friends.

    They are not flawless, they make mistakes, yes. Their goal is to perform to entertain, and that's all I care about. I enjoy the militaristic style and precision drumming with a little humor thrown in and Top Secret provides that.

    @Misterate dude you can judge how they play as an indvidual because of what they sound like as a line. also with the way the drums are tuned this is as clean as its going to get and as you can see they are not getting any boos from the crowd. also its not like they were trying to impress a judge or anything.

    what is the big deal about the part at 3:32 ?? i can tell exactly what they are doing just by looking/listening to it. my line plays a bunch of segments of this in a cadence.

    They are only humans, they are not flawless. It did not affect their performance at all...
    anyway, in my opinion it is pretty awesome that they plat this well, and they are not even professionals. They are common folk, bankers, shopkeepers, artisans, normal people like us, and yet they do this well. I wish I lived near them so I could join their ranks..

    Cadevaliers is short for Cadets, Devils, and Cavaliers. I will admit that the people that put these guys up as the best are worthy of ridicule, but sometimes that spills over into criticism of a fine drumming ensemble. For their purpose (entertainment) I think TS is an excellent group. I am pretty sure if these guys did rudimental drumming for a career they would be astounding.

  • @dryfish1

  • @TheDragonmaster18
    @TheDragonmaster18 13 років тому

    @b42baritone dude blue devils doesnt even do stuff like this. these guys could drum circles around blue devils. especially with those crappy drums the devils are using now. also this is as clean as this show is going to get because of the tuning of the drums. they are not as tight thus giving more of a traditional snare sound

  • @Inspadave
    @Inspadave 12 років тому

    I cannot understand why people bag on these cats for not being as precise as the Cadevaliers. Of course they are not. These guys have lives outside of drumming. They are not practicing the same 8 minutes of actual drumming 12 hours a day for an entire summer. Given the amount of time they rehearse, and the book they are playing, TS is very good. Believe it or not rudimental drumming actually exists outside the US.
