    The one thing I love about you and your channel is that every look you show us is different. Many beauty gurus do the same thing with different brand names and the same colors but you really give us a pop of color whether it be on the lips or eyes. I always love your looks and I just love the variety! Love ya!

    Hey. I usually don't comment on things, but you seemed a little sad in this video. I'm not sure what it is but something is off. Anyhow, I just wanted to let you know that you are one incredibly dedicated and talented ( I know you hear it all the time, but I really mean it) person. I really appreciate the time and effort you put into teaching people your skills and all the patience. I don't know you personally but its easy to understand a good human being when you see one and you sure are! Remember to smile and always keep doing only what inspires and fascinates you! :)

    Don't get me wrong I absolutely love Nicole. She is one of my favorite youtubers but the only thing I don't like about videos like this is that she won't zoom in enough when she's doing her eye shadow and I can't even really see what she's doing!

    I love you videos Nicole but I need a basic video . Like what's the difference between foundation, concealer, and powder? What's the best way to apply these?? What eyeshadow/lipsticks go with different skin colors? ??
    People who do UA-cam videos don't always take the time to explain to there viewers these things? Like I said I watch your videos all the time but I need an understanding of the different makeup tools out there. Keep in mind that some of your subscribers are very new to makeup and might not even know what your talking about

    • @reyisawesome
      @reyisawesome 10 років тому +8

      Concealer is to hide/conceal dark circles under your eyes or blemishes on your skin. There's different types and consistencies out there. There's some concealer just for the undereye area (they're usually a bit lighter in formula as not to crease), just like they're different colored concealer, usually to correct specific issues (ex: green concealer for redness, it usually says the issue it corrects on the packaging). Concealers can something be called correctors too, but this is usually in the colored ones (meaning not flesh toned) because they're correcting something haha.
      Foundation is used all over the face to even skin tone and conceal blemishes and unevenness (but maybe not as well as concealer or corrector). They are different levels of coverage with foundations, mostly sheer (where it'll even skin tone but might not conceal acne or blemishes) to full coverage (it's like your face and skin tone with no visible blemishes or redness, etc.). Also there are different kinds of foundation, like powder, mineral, liquid, airbrush, cream, stick, etc. The different is in how they're packaged and how you would apply them. Example, powder foundation (NOT pressed powder) can be applied with a powder brush (usually large and fluffy) or with a powder puff. Liquid foundation can be applied with a foundation brush (they're different ones, like flat top, tapered, etc.), your fingers or a makeup sponge/beauty blender. The best way to apply these foundations is really a personal choice. I use liquid foundations and I like spreading it out on my face with my fingers then going over it with a wet beauty blender sponge to buff it out and make sure its blended.
      If you ever have any questions, I'd be happy to help even if I'm no expert haha. I'm just learning as I go along too, so I feel you

    • @maniacalmilann
      @maniacalmilann 10 років тому +7

      you are correct, dos . but some muas (me included since desi perkins got me on it), will put a warmer toned contour on the beggining of the cheekbone, acting as a "transition color", just like we put in the crease for eyeshadow . it just helps so you don't have these two ashy, stark streaks going diagonally down your face .

    • @Andyt11
      @Andyt11 10 років тому +16

      That is absolutely correct. Contouring is a technique using light and shadow and shadows are NOT bronze. There is no such thing as a "warm contour" because it's an oxymoron. I don't know who started contouring with bronzers but everyone needs to stop.

    • @christinehorwath3392
      @christinehorwath3392 10 років тому +3

      Wow I never knew this! I always contour w bronzers what should I be contouring with?? Like a grey taupe color what

    • @Andyt11
      @Andyt11 10 років тому +12

      +Christine Horwath grey/taupe tones are the best. If you have fair to light/medium skin, MAC Sculpting Powder in the shade Sculpt is great. If you have medium to dark skin, the shade Shadowy is best. Don't mix it up with the MAC studio sculpt powder! :)
      Other great ones are Smashbox Contour Kit, Make Up For Ever Sculpting Kit in #2, NUX taupe blush, Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder, and Becca Lowlight Sculpting Perfector.

    • @ke1sha
      @ke1sha 10 років тому +14

      ansley birchmore Why the hell do you people get so worked up when someone expresses their opinion? Nicole is putting her technique on UA-cam and it's naturally going to generate a conversation. People are allowed to question what she's doing. Obviously she can do what she wants, and I love her looks. But really, there's no need for you Stans to constantly jump on every comment with the "it's her life, she can do whatever she wants" stuff. DUH. That's obvious.

    hey i have a problem and i need help please .. I realized that my foundations dont stick to my face ,, they just rub off and become blotchy ,, i moisturize and prime and also set my makeup ... this escpecially happens to me if i remove my facial hair .. i have normal to dry skin .

    • @justemzbemz

      You might be using too much :) start with a thin layer and build up from there. Then let your face makeup sit while you do your eye makeup. Then when you're done set your face with powder, and bring a powder along in your purse for touch ups :) i Have dry skin too!

      I have that problem when i remove facial hair as well, so i started using the Smashbox 15 Hour Wear Hydrating Foundation, with this foundation i've found it's best to use a damp beauty blender or flat top kabuki brush and you have to blend it in quickly because it dries fast but once it's on it's ON and it doesn't come off anywhere or look uneven. also after you apply your moisturizer and primer give it a good 20 minutes or so to sink in before you apply any foundation. Hope this helps :)

    • @juicyfruit133
      @juicyfruit133 10 років тому +1

      That is actually not true, it means to swoop on to, or make a sudden attack on, so it require the action of attacking on and not only the action of jumping. With that being said, it was used incorrectly. And I'm not trying are here, because it's fact that that is the definition

      not "if you're Russian". it's pronounced that way. period. during training for sephora brand name pronunciations is crucial. why would we (UA-camrs too) try to talk about a product if we can't even pronounce it correctly? knowledge is everything. it is Anastas-eeuh. if you went into a sephora and I told you all about Givenchy and kept pronouncing it giv-en-chee, would you take me seriously? nah. gotta know what you're talking about.

    • @sweartogucci
      @sweartogucci 10 років тому

      Lmao someones a little emotional I see. & working for both Ulta & Sephora as well as high-end retailers that sell Givenchy I know all about pronunciation sweetheart. I also know that people from different countries pronounce the exact same words differently. For example: an American isnt going to pronounce Louis Louis Vuitton the same as a person from London, even though its the exact same brand (:
