Fretless Friday 13- Original Tune (???)

- Happy Fretless Friday! Is this an original tune, or am I a song thief with a bad memory? My guess is a little of both. Pardon my extra sloppy playing today- my brain is a bit fried at the moment. I thought doing a nice restful crochet project would be a good break from my shed renovation, but I am now engaged in the fight of my life with another crochet sweater. But we will not fret about that now, for it is Friday! Hope yall have a great day, and let me know what I should call this song!

Whether you live on a farm or in a suburb, in southern California or in southern Appalachia, country is an attitude and a state of mind. Anyone who plays banjo, crochets, and hangs out with the chickens is in a country state of mind in my opinion!
I can dig this state of mind!
@@opticalmixing23 Create what "beauty," you realistically can within and outside yourself for you and others who are worthy of it. Don't encourage the "bad," that others may impose.😑
@@opticalmixing23 perhaps not. Just expounding my 2cents.✌
Just had a really crap day at work, then with my narcissistic family. So I came here for Dr. Phoebe's lightness of heart and cheerful disposition...and banjo playing. Who can feel negative when listening to banjo? Not me! ❤
Yes, if Titanic’s orchestra had played “Nearer my God to Thee” on banjos it might have made the the whole sinking thing less ominous.
Tune could be called "Monster Sweater".
PBS should offer you a children's show or something like that. Very entertaining person. This channel is fun.
Omg pls
Works for some of us adults too!🙂
Every Friday for the last couple weeks my 1 year old daughter and I have watched Fretless Friday. She absolutely loves it!
Who wouldn’t?
Call it "Best one yet"❤❤❤❤❤
As Solomon said, nothing under the sun is new, therefore everything is similar, and that is OK since your rendition is the happiest tune I ever heard. Thanks for my daily dose of banjo
What is it about this young lady that just mesmerizes us.. She is a very different kind of angelic soul. Pure talent .. When she plays I can tell her mind goes somewhere else.. a place where few can go much less bring back to us.. So very sweet and when she looks at the camera she is looking right at me and you.. Do you feel it?
Thanks Phoebe! Uplifting as always!
Great job❣️ Sounds great❣️❣️❣️ A nice toe tapper❣️ Thank you 🙏 ☮️
Ballad of the Hangman's Sweater Kerfuffle... Blessings and Shalom in Him
The Crochet Huckle Chuckle!
That banjo ditty is called "Toto's Scratch"...
Endorsed
Love that 🙌🙌🙌
The WAY you play is original, regardless. There may need to be a Go Fund a Farm For Phoebe soon. Soon! Who's with me?
Farms are a lot of work.
Suburban Chicken Scratch...that's the title. Nice tune.
It doesn't matter if it's entirely original or has parts borrowed from other songs, it's from the heart, and that's what counts. 🙂
I really like it! Toto's Tune?
Thank you, that was a lot of fun 🙂
Ol Chirping Hen. I always look forward to fretless Friday. Thanks Phoebe 🤠
Lovely! I agree with whomever said to call it Chicken Scratch.
Most songwriters start out regurgitating stuff, very nice.
Call it Phoebe's crochet!
Have a great weekend, Phoebe! 😊
Very nice song and well played. I enjoy your videos. I hope you continue. Thanks for sharing.
The acoustics in this spot are very nice! Maybe it's the solid wall behind you and the open space in front.
I’ve played guitar since I was 12, I’ve always had a banjo and played a little Scruggs style badly. I must say at almost 70 you’ve inspired me to attempt claw hammer. Thank you.
Tune should be called “Toto’s Reel”! You are a gift!!
Great tune! maybe “Toto B Peckin”
Enjoyed this one...I could only suggest a bookmarking title of something like "We're off to (or headed for) The Chipmunk (or Chicken hawk) Mountains"
Really wish this was on Spotify, could listen to it for hours. It's so relaxing
Even though you don't live on a farm, it looks like your family has created a peaceful oasis in the middle of suburbia. Of course banjo music helps!
Beautiful song, you have a gift. 👍
Phoebe’s Lament?
Planxty Chicken?
Chicken River?
Farewell to Crochet?
The Wind That Shakes the Chickens?
Phoebe’s Dream?
No frets nice little tune Happy Friday Phoebe
People grabbing a tune, and making changes they like is how most songs are born.
I would call this original “FRIDAY THE 13TH” since this was the 13th Fretless Friday! Keep it up! 💥💥💥
"Free Range Girl" :)
You're improving again Phoebe. Congratulations ❤😊🕊️💯
So relaxing, so chill and so beautiful. Thank you Phoebe for sharing ❤️.
Your named after one of my favorite birds. Nice tune. It sounds original to me, but also familiar. You are very talented. Your song is different enough to call it your own. It may sound a little like the other one but its totally different.
Very nice. "Toto's Trot"
Like that hat BEST!
Absolutely love phoebe and channel
😊😊😊 woohoo!! very nice - i prefer old time playing like yours - i learned from Pete Seeger's old book over 50 years ago!! - still got the banjo but the book is long long gone!! - happy crocheting - sure itll be fine! 😁
Looking forward to seeing all your banjo's. I vote this was an original as any tune I've heard. Most of the old banjo songs of old are parts of other songs and tunes. --- Call it, Phoebe's chickenyard breakdown. ❤ As usual you've made my day. Thank you.
Excellent! Once again after a crazy day just what I needed. Thank you Pheobe and I'm calling it Toto's Reverie 🙂 You can work on another one called the 'Crochet Blues' 😊
Not a tune I've heard before. Sounds great
Toe tapping delight...
Whatever you call it Phoebe it’s a hit! Maybe call it “Fretless Friday!” And make it your theme song!😇🪕
This is a great little Smile Maker. Thank you!
Great way to end the week, out on the patio with a ukulele and Dante the Husky Dawg lying in the cool evening grass.
#FretlessFriday
man! you look happy😊 thx for the video and this wonderfull music. greetings from bavaria, germany
Sounds great to me, Phoebe!
I think you should use the earlier sweater. I think it´s very cool.🙂
Sounds like a squabble of sparrows in the background. Very nice!
It adds authenticity.
I fell in love with this channel! Phoebe is just charming as heck!!
Happy Fretless Friday! That was wonderful, and your chickens are always a welcome addition. Toto is amazing. Is she a Plymouth Rock? Keep up the great work.
Very nice tune
Sweetheart, you are beautiful, and a pro on your banjo! I thought that hen was about ready to do a little two step for you! Great performance, loved it, and love you!🌹💃🧎🥰♾️🪕, Dennis in Florida!🌴🌅⛱️🦩
Love the outfit ❤
I want that hat 🤠
Make a chicken sweater! Or a sweater for the chicken?! 😂 Nevermind, just keep pickin' that banio! Happy Fretless Friday from Canada 🇨🇦everone!
Your first sweater was unforgettable. I think that was the first video I watched of yours. At least it’s the first I remember. Like I said - Unforgettable!😄
*furiously scours Phoebe Channel for Monster Sweater vid*
Call it "TOTO" u make Fridays even better since I met u.
Another awesome ditty! I really enjoy your videos, always fun when a chicken pops in for a listen too xD keep it up and enjoy :)
You could call the song “Monster Sweater!”
Aesthetics = perfection.
I liked the pun in the description lol, and nice little tune!
Incredible as always Phoebe! You really inspired my Banjo Journey, I’m going on 3 weeks playing at 30 years old and having the time of my life. Here’s to many more for me and many more subscribers for you!
good luck on the sweater:)
The chicken peckn’ on the ground and digging in the dirt… You really can’t get much more Farm than that…. You’ve got the atmosphere all handled and add in the banjo… you nailed Americana!
beautiful tune there !
Call it Crochet Work.
I like the tune. It has a traditional feel to it. It sounds like someone who knows the banjo well wrote it to get the most from the instrument. It is very pretty.
❤❤ so good to the ears!
Birds also work for background with music lol I thought it was a farm
Those echoes in your head are exactly what you should be chasing. Rock on.
Cool tune, I like it. Plus, as the old saying goes, 'good artists copy, great artists steal' - so that b section works just fine.
Best day of the week, Phoebe and no frets, awesome🎉❤
Sounded good.
Thank you
Thanks!
Wonderful! I think part of the riff sounds like "Big Rock Candy Mountain."
You could call it "The Sparrow and the Shrike" after the backyard birds and a nod to the Hangman's Reel.
It doesn't sound familiar but I like it a lot. Have a great weekend! How about Phoebe's Friday Frolic.
Great ORIGINAL song, Dr. Phoebe! You simply must call it "Bixby's Slide!" Thanks for another maximum strength dose of banjo fun! Much love and God's blessings to you! ♥♥♥♥♥
Another smile on my face. Thank you for that.
Since she's a regular member of your banjo playing videos, you should call it Toto's Tune! 😅😅😅
"Toto's back" would be a good name.
"Toto's favorite"
very good Played, great Video
My favorite fretless Friday yet! Love the song original or not.
Awesome
I love the idea of you playing more originals if you're feeling up to it😃
My brain is weird and for some reason the tune reminds me of pumpkins... I would name the song pumpkin festival.
Happy to hear an original tune, I hope there's more to come!
As a fellow song thief with a bad memory... If you can't remember what song it came from, you're probably filling in enough of it with of your own tune to call it your own.
good stuff
How about “scratch ol hen”
awesome
Chef's kiss on the blue note at 2:49!
❤️❤️
This is not my favorite music, which is worlds away. But I like and enjoy this music. Banjo music, played in the back yard, with chickens scratching is OUR music. Country, Jazz, Bluegrass, Blues, Ragtime, Stride- it’s music with openness, movement, longing, a lot of it contains the rhythm of steel wheels on steel rails. It makes me content.
Chicken whisperer. I think "The Battle of New Orleans" would sound good on the banjo.
Phoebe rocks!
I love it! Let's call your new song "Phoebe's Back Yard" since it's such a nice yard after all! It's a rite of passage for any artist to bring something new into the world that no one has seen or heard before, and it's in the best tradition of banjo musicianship to add a little something of yourself to the repertoire of this timeless music.
You are very good. Maybe great.
A great tune made even better with your slides. This has to go on your album. It is a foot-tapping piece. I love your Fretless Fridays! :)
❤️❤️❤️
