Currently rewatching all of these and am half way through defenders, always thought IF and defenders were underated. Hopefully all these shows can find another season in an adult section of disney+.
That would be a pretty good idea, if not they could always use Hulu which is also owned by Disney. Fingers crossed when the rights revert back to Marvel we get some sort of announcement.
Another great video. I really hope low views will not discourage you from doing what you do. BTW, do you have any plans on reviewing Altered Carbon? That show probably has the biggest gap quality-wise between two seasons imo.
Cheers man, appreciate it! I watched the first season back when it came out and wasn't a huge fan so I never bothered with the second, would you say it's worth going back to?
@@focal_point Altered Carbon season 1 for me personally was like the perfect post-cyberpunk series. Great visuals, great cast, an intriguing plot with lots of twists, lots of blood, profanities and nudity as well - just as I like it. Season 2 however was a huge letdown for me. Not only was it awful on its own, but is basically ruined everything great that was in the first season. Close to what Westworld season 3 did too.
Ironically, the big talking point of the series was the Chinese Restaurant scene... which wasn't a scene, it was a whole episode. And that was the problem with Netflix Marvel and The Defenders, because once you see it, you can't unsee it... Bottle Episodes. It's been an issue with lots of Netflix as a whole but in particular, it was an issue with Marvel Netflix, more episodes or GIANT chunks of episodes were bottle episodes. Some of it worked, some of it just made it apparent there was little to no budget or script. It reminded me of Gundam Seed which was famous for the money saving flashback episodes, sometimes a flashback ep just 2 episodes after the last flashback ep. Once you notice it, it's hard to not think about Daredevil chained on a roof talking to Punisher, or Punisher torturing Micro for a whole episode. It gets to the point where it's super predictable. The defenders had 2 episodes of holding Stick hostage in reused sets from other people's series (Luke Cage and Iron Fist). Bottle episodes really work as a pressure cooker for action and between emotional episodes and revelations... none of which was in The Defenders.
Perhaps they should have made the Defenders a movie instead of a mini-series. Additionally, the crossover event should have been titled Marvel Spectacular featuring Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist.
Loved the way you brought how corporate structure effects these kind of shows! I loved the first seasons of Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage I always remeber watching the first 2 eiposdes of Iron Fist and genuinely feeling like it took 6 hours and I think that unfairly put me off the rest of the shows
The only one I wasn't particularly keen on was Iron Fist and I found that to still have its moments. For me, Daredevil, Jessica Jones and The Punisher were my three favourite superhero shows so I was pretty disappointed that they won't be coming back. We'll just have to agree to disagree on this one

I dunno weather to be upset that they're gone or hopeful they'll return under feige. I really don't want any reboots
Yeah me neither, I think all the characters were perfectly cast. Time will tell, I suppose.

Cheers! That's fair, it's definitely the weakest of the shows. I'd definitely recommend Daredevil S3 though if you haven't already seen it.
canceling the marvel shows were their biggest mistake imo
It was a good show its sad that it got cancelled
The shows can be darker on Netflix. Jessica Jones was too dark and most men came off as rapists or cowards.
cancelled by political reasons not ratings
Because it wasn't a Disney movie
Great entertaining shows until they were pulled and replaced with all the woke garbage today.
"Tragedy?" That's a little strong. Half of these shows sucked.
