🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 congratulations on the house man I can speak for all of us we’re all pumped for you. You have the best hydroponic channel on UA-cam! We couldn’t risk loosing anything you’ve built.!!!! Thanks for everything !
Yay! Awesome news! Congrats. Happy we could all pull together and get you over the hump, mate! Now our favorite hydroponics/gardening channel can remain and develop! Upwards and forwards!
Awesome news about the house, enjoy it mate you really deserve it! Also, I haven't seen a beer on the channel in a while now - time for a "Broocho's" series soon in celebration of the good news? ;)
Congratulations Hoocho! Very happy for you. Things will improve for you and I get the feeling it will happen very quickly. Your heart will mend in time but you will be ok mate. Keep your mates close too. Still loving your content man 👍
I appreciate you putting in the work and making the mistakes - so that I don't have to go down the wrong path. It's one thing to take a chance when you just want to have fun. It's a whole other thing when you need to depend on your hydroponic solution.
You live such a wonderful life. I have tried to grow outdoors for about 10 yrs and rarely get much. No I have started indoor aeroponics! Sending much love your way. I just found you BTW!
Thank you for this update, a lot of interesting things there, always a pleasure watching your channel, happy to see you doing better ;) keep up the good work !
Great news reference the property, well worth the Patreon subscription for the 3D files alone, glad to see you getting past the bad times, at least you will be your own master now :)
Great to see you with your spark back and brill news about you home. I've been de hoarding the garden and finally got rid of 150 slabs of various sizes and can now get rid of 2 bodged sheds and get 1 mahoosive one so hopefully now the garden looks like a garden and not a reclamation yard the better half is on my side to give hydroponics a bash depending on uk weather 🤭. All the best dude 👍👍👍👍
Should be selling those lettuce at $12 you could have paid off the house by now :) With summer coming on there will be higher demand for lettuce and those unique (excited to see you) Aubergines could get a good premium too (standard ones are amazingly expensive in the shops as well!).
And this is why the Egg plant emoji exists... Nice work Hoocho! Good news on the House. I Just got my first harvest out of my 52 Salad Table since you showed it! Kale +Spinach. My Squash/bokchoy, tomato, chives and ...LEEK? are going pretty good so far. All possible from your videos! #Brisbane
There is algae growing in the crusher dust. This is supporting the tomato growth. Have a search for a recent radio national report on research about fish waste(liquid nutrients) consumed by algae which support corals
Loving your content hoocho and congrats on the property. While ive watched a bunch of content, i havent seen anything using a solar panel and battery of some sort to remotely run these systems? With prices hiking at the moment, certainly there'd have to be a scale at which youd manage a reasonable RoI. Best of luck with your future endeavours bro 👊
I bought an oxypot V9 to convert to aero. I gave it a run in its standard DWC format and wasnt very impressed. The pump supplied was utter crap as far as air output was concerned and it was hellishly loud. The airstones themselves are pretty good and you cant fault the black air tubing supplied. Overall its 100x better as an aero system compared to the original DWC.
So one thing i see with the vertical is that you mounted the holder directly to the pipe which kinda ripped the roots off. Couldn't you have the whole pot come out of the side so you dont have to rip the roots out? or maybe make it into a 2 piece system where a bowl goes into a snug fitting holder and dangles the roots inside. I'm looking to make one of these myself.
disappointed that I found your channel only recently and couldn't pitch in to help a fellow Aussie out with your go fund me. Instead I will support you through Patreon and other donations :). Also you have a cheeky nope friend on the inside of your lid at 16:40 haha, he's trying to get some nutrients I think.
1 - that eggplant 😂 2 - interested in those netcup-less kratky 3 - that must be the best demonstration of how neglectful tomatos can grow 😂 4 - those cos lettuce leave are fkn mammoth 5 - congrats on securing the place 🙏
Unbelievable news about your property mate Congratulations👍🎉 Vertical Hydroponic System- could you remove the central grow pipe, twist both outer pipes 90 degrees so each grow hole gets the same amount of side sun. Then maybe you could plant on the horizontal return pipe. I’m honestly not sure if it’ll work but just an idea. The eggplants in the oxypot grew fantasticly 🍺🍺
So happy to hear that you are close to getting your property. Keep the hydroponics videos coming. 🍆 Also, that eggplant deserved a moment of silence for its odd beauty.
Regarding the light getting to the back of the system, since you have the tubes hanging from a hook, could you simply rotate them every once in a while?
I have a question, I have all my organic seeds started and I was ready to make my pvc hydroponic system but……. PVC ? Is it safe? The plastic buckets to hold the roots, are they safe? I know plastics are not good for our health and leaving the seeds living in those chemicals leeching every second, I’m scared now? Am I been having a paranoia attack? Thank you so much.
hey hoochiobuddybro! just typing this as i watch. the thought came back to me as you mentioned the oxypot system, though its very interesting to see that the plants actually used up at least all the liquid without becoming unhappy before reaching maturity. i recently watched another david attenborough masterpiece where they highlighted that over nitrification is actually one of the big problems fot the balance of ecosystems in the world. could you at one point explore the topic of proper disposal of nutrient solution? maybe experiments to see how much ground area and what plants are needed to neutralise your systems and plant pairs that are happy with the waste water (i.e. the nutrients that are left behind) from our harvested crops? i feel like this is an important topic and your insights and views on the sublect would be really valuable to me.
In an Ideal world we could get all plants to the point of the oxypot where all the solution is used. Most large growers never dispose of solution, and recirculate indefinitely, testing the water and adding nutrients as needed.
@@Hoocho ok, really?! That's interesting. I've been trying to research and have found so many saying that you have to change solution every few weeks at the least, some saying that pre-mix has a shelf life of only days, i assumed different plants would take different components of a nutrient solution and leave an overconcentration of others over time, etc etc. I suppose large growers do regulate each component independently. Very good to know that it's doable... I'll keep looking into it then. Thought I'd have to go hydro and I'm not really ready to deal with fish. I know you've done a fair bit in this regard already but maybe a scientific exploration of minimum viable EC for various crops could be an idea for the future. i'm not criticising, it is what it is and the main culprit is the industrial agriculture industry and it doesn't diminish the endless other benefits of local and self sufficient food production, but its something i'd like to know more about/be conscious of. Super happy you're able to stay on the property BTW, congratulations! You've put in so much work, its great that you can build on what you've already established rather than staring anew.
30 years experience here. Nothing beats the bubbler. Growing roots directly in aerated water. Looks like you're using NFT. Do you like the new LEDS better than HIDS? The black container, I can't tell, are you bubbling? You're not really explaining much.
For the vertical grow system, why wouldn't you just switch to plants that need less sun or shade and put them on the back side to help maximize growth instead of killing a whole side?
@@stambo1983 I honestly wish I had done it earlier. And that it didn’t take a life shattering event to do it. Check the PH on the tomatoes in the gravel dust.
For net cup alternative, I have used spent Keurig pods. Use a soldering iron to make holes. They are about 50mm and have a small lip.
Brilliant.

You are awesome, do you use any climate sensor indoor / outdoor to keep a check on temperature and humidity.
4:42 that's one naughty fruit. 😆
do you have the stl file for the black insert into the pipe?
I have wondered if the plants could be grown in small tufts of cheese cloth as a growth medium.
16:36 knowing where you are I hope that was seen beforehand or harmless xD
If everyone in the world did that to their eggplants, we'd finally be rid of that heinous fruit. Good job Hoocho, hopefully starts a trend.
