I can't thank you enough. Was mins from calling AAA and my mechanic and having my GF's 2013 versa towed in. Stripped the paint off and cranked right up. Because you took the time to make a little 5 min video you saved me 100s of dollars replacing the starter. And the inevitable rabbit hole of $ and headache that would've came after replacing the starter wouldn't have worked. Thank you. PS. 400k+ miles on it. Still runs silent. Regular maintenance and mechanics like you made that possible.
I so appreciate your video. I bought a used 2013 Versa two weeks ago. It had been starting just fine. Yesterday morning, would not crank just like this one in your video. It had a 6 year old battery, so I replaced it. When that didn't work, I replaced the starter (thankfully not too hard a job) with the same results. Then I found your video. I found that ground wire completely disconnected. I DON'T KNOW HOW IT WAS EVER STARTING but when I reconnected it, BAM! Starts right up. I know not every video helps in every situation, but I GREATLY APPRECIATE the time it takes to do these videos and the your willingness to share. If I lived near you, I would look you up for the next car repair I can't do myself! THANK YOU THANK YOU!!
Could have been laying against something well enough to let the car start, or It could have been bolted down, just not properly and vibrated loose. Many lesser experienced mechanics overlook things like tiny vibrations as the cause of stuff like this.
Hi, my daughter’s 2019 Versa had this same problem. We saw some smoke and sparks near the ground’s fastener. Car would not start. We removed some of the paint to improve the electrical connection (as outlined in this video). Problem solved. Thanks for putting this together.
Thank you very much. My Nissan Versa 2010 had the same issue and I followed your instructions but the car didn't start either. I thought it was the battery. Bought and installed a brand new battery still didn't solve the problem until I accidentally realized that whenever I clamped only one clamp head of the jump cable to the positive terminal, the car can be started! I then realized that on my car there is ANOTHER ground cable on the right. I fixed as instructed this side and it worked.
@@RandyDeath They are on both sides. Look for a wire connected by a small screw on each side. On the left, it's a few inches away from the cap for windshield fluid. The one on the right is the same location. Update on my car: after fixing the car as instructed in the video, it worked for sometime but then the issue happened again. The car just suddenly wouldn't start and fixing the ground cables didn't help. The mechanic has just told me that it was the starter so you may want to look into it as well.
Hey brother that video with the Nissan Versa was a perfect video for the exact same issue my wife had with her Nissan Versa, She had to leave it at a Dollar General overnight and I went the following morning and was able to duplicate exactly what you did and it worked.. Thank you blessings keep doing the great work that you do
Definitely appreciate this video. Helped solved my no start, no crank issue. Just clean all grounds with wire brush & you will be back in business! 👌🏾👍🏽
Thank you very much for the video. I have a 2016 versa SV and this was happening to me every once in awhile, I was trying to figure it out but this video makes so much sense. I'm gonna do this to my car in the morning and share my results. Thank you again you possibly saved me so much money and more importantly time
My son has a Nissan versa that would not start. He took to Nissan luckily they fixed it for free but this is really helpful to know so if this was the issue then he can fix himself
Hello! Thank you for the video! I have a 2012 that is having this same issue with not turning on. I went to try this but there is another screw underneath holding the top bolt in place. I can't figure out how to get that second, bottom bolt off so I can take the top screw off to be able to follow your steps. Any advice to get that bottom bolt off so I can try this?? I would appreciate any help.
Wagwan fam, Nice find. Thanks for posting this video for others. Theres a similar ground strap / ground wire on the Honda Civics (and Integras Accords ect) from like 1989 up to 2006 (possibly even more). It causes the same thing when it corrodes away. The one on the Hondas is a strap going from the trans bellhousing/engine mounting to trans area, to the firewall. It often just deteriorates from salt and debris over time, causing the no start, no turn over symptoms. Ive come across cars where the owner and their friends thought that would do a backyard engine swap, and forgot this wire, or left it off thinking its not required.
wow thank you brother i changed transmission and i have same problem what happened i took frond end of to replace transmission and i forgot to put that ground on thank you my man God bless
Many thanks. This did it. I just need to sell some things to buy a new battery, but this fixed the issue Thanks so much, you saved me a bunch of trouble. Blessings upon you
2019 Nissan Versa here, battery is healthy. Dash will turn on. It just won’t even crank or make any noise when trying to push start it. Could this solution work for newer Nissans?
Try cleaning the throttle body if that dont work its the fuel pump not keeping the line pressurized it have to build up the pressure in the line before it starts the engine
@user-px4er7yz3b Found out that if you touch the key fob to the push start button it started. It was the batteries in the key fob that were bad. I was surprised!
If I could only remove the bolt.. that would be great. Having a very hard time to remove the bolt. Used wd 40, there is another bolt underneath too. Smh. Not all of us got power tools to remove it easy.
The other thing I want to know is why damn Nissan specially on versas and Sentras shuts down with no reason even on highway... Fuel pump fail maybe or ground I can't find the issue and I have both cars...

I also have a 2010 so there are two clamps?? And where can you find them bc mine doesn't look like the one in the video.

@@trieule251 Thanks man I definitely will and I really appreciate your help 🙏
@@trieule251 did you find what was the issue sir??
@@AlphaDogX25 Yes, the issue was the starter. After it got replaced, the car starts as normal.

Please make more nissan versa videos. Bravo bravo
Much appreciated fam ..had the same problem with my 15 versa i did your steps and boom it turned on 🙏
Thanks for the tip. Trying to determine if a starter is bad on a 2009 Versa before I take it out (not a mechanic)
What year is the Versa in the Video?. I cant find the same ground cable on my Versa....its a 2007
Do you know where is the turn signal relay

2019 Nissan Versa here, battery is healthy. Dash will turn on. It just won’t even crank or make any noise when trying to push start it. Could this solution work for newer Nissans?
I believe the answer is yes but I do not know whether the ECM is located in the same spot.
Did it work I just had to have my car towed but wondering what it is. I have a 2019 also
Thanks you, this solved my problem also.
You saved me dude!! Thank you so much
I'll try tomorrow. Hope it works.
Thank you! Super helpful vid
Big up yuh self Breda ‼️
Mine was completely disconnected. But it didn't start after i did that. 😢
Could I have done something wrong?
Questions 2008 versa start but no want to go when is start is sound like not gas on tank but is gas on tank
I have that problem sometimes too, and I unscrew the gas cap (where I fill up) and close it back and it works
Great vid! I'm still trying to start my 08 versa ..engine cranks and turns but won't start until several tries and quick pumps of gas pedal
Did you ever find out what was wrong? It sounds like the same issues I’m having with my ‘07
Try cleaning the throttle body if that dont work its the fuel pump not keeping the line pressurized it have to build up the pressure in the line before it starts the engine
Same thing happened to me but I’m not getting power to anything. HELP
I did exactly as you said and it still won't start. Any other suggestions.
It's the board or the key isn't being recognized by the board
@user-px4er7yz3b Found out that if you touch the key fob to the push start button it started. It was the batteries in the key fob that were bad. I was surprised!
had a feeling might be that, good video, thanks bro
You said 'you fixed the problem already. So why didn't it start the first time?
