Omg I just discovered you! Please make more videos I’ve subscribed! Omg how amazing was that intro speech for the kids. What a treat, thanks for sharing this with us!
I am so happy I found your channel. I have just been the process to teach in Canada, and the Northern schools are my preference. Love the content. Your learners seem really chill.
Excellent content! This looked like an awesome field trip. Made me miss teaching and taking my students on field trips. So accurate that the kids were knocked out on the way back. lol Thanks for taking us along with you. Glad you all had a safe trip.
@@mylesnmilestv Hey! Glad to support. I did everything education. I was a substitute, paraeducator, preschool teacher, kindergarten teacher, teacher's assistant, co-teacher, before/after-care assistant, and school bus driver. Over 20 years I worked with ages 1-10. Phew! I left education in 2020. I miss the kids, but I'm ready to take life a bit easier.
Wooow, I'm so impressed! You have essentially done it all!! You're definitely a fountain of knowledge in the education field, I'm glad that we are familiar with one another in case I ever need some advice from you! After 20 years in this field, you are more than deserving of a break!! 🙂
@@mylesnmilestv Thanks! I'm definitely enjoying as much relaxation as possible. My kids were younger than yours, but I'd be glad to offer any advice that will help.
they are cute you have a small class I'm surprised. I am finished my bed this year I'm from the 6 and plan to go up to Yellowknife (trees) thanks for sharing
Thank you for your comment!! My class is actually a lot bigger haha. I have 36 on paper but only 6 were selected to attend the science camp so I took the ones that were🙂. Oh nice to hear your from Toronto too! Good luck finishing your Bed, where are you doing it at? And yes! You should definitely come to yellowknife to teach or even Inuvik NWT
Love the content! I'm a current BEd student in northern Ontario and your videos have been really helpful as I try to decide where I want to go once I graduate. I especially appreciate your perspective since I'm also from the GTA (and of Caribbean descent)! Looking forward to future videos!
Thank you for your comment! An nice! Are you at Nipissing U? I believe on of my friends if there if you are. Best of luck in you decisions and if you have any questions feel free to ask🙂
@@mylesnmilestv Yup, I'm at Nipissing! I'll be starting my second year in September. One thing I'm wondering about is transportation. Is Kugaaruk car-dependent (not sure if you know about other areas of Nunavut as well)? I can't afford a car at the moment, and I'm a bit worried that it'd be difficult to socialize and engage with the wider community without one. It's the issue I currently have with North Bay, and I'd really want to get to know the community and the culture if I end up moving to Nunavut.
@Bea HH oh wow you are even in the same year as my friend who is there, you probably know her haha. Honestly everything is pretty small wherever you go. The dependence on a vehicle is more dependent on where you go. For example if you are in a "big" town like Iqaluit, which is the capital city. Then you may prefer on having a vehicle. However even being in Iqaluit, which is the biggest town, the majority there walk to where they need to go. You also wouldn't need to have a car. We mainly use snowmobiles and ATVs mostly🙂
@@mylesnmilestv Oh wow, maybe I do know her! I don't think I even know half of the BEd students in my year though; there are hundreds of us and we have a weird cohort system 😆 I think I know most of the P/J teacher candidates though, so if your friend's in that division, we've probably met. Thanks for the response! I'm definitely going to try and get familiar with snowmobiles and ATVs in that case!
Haha if your coming from Texas, this is about as far away from familiarity as you can get. Personally if you are to ever come I would only advise you to travel to the capital Iqaluit. There you atleast have hotels, restaurants, stores, etc. The smaller more remote towns (where I am) we tend to only have 1 store and that's it. I only advise coming to a small town if it work related
Thank you brother! And I appreciate it ! You should deff take the job, even if it's for a 1 year contract. You'll get to see a side that not many have seen, and you'll make some good coin
Man my field trip travels are nothing when I was kid. It just a school bus. These kids get a PLANE. I mean I would never live there but you can’t beat a plane.
Hey I'm coming up to Kugaaruk in April. Might even visit the school to talk about energy efficiency. Could use a bit of advice if you can spare the time. How can we chat outside of UA-cam comments?
Oh sounds great!! Looking forward to meeting with you. I have a business instagram if you would like to message me there Myles_the_teacha (It's in the description of the video as well)
The kids are enjoying science and are at the start to become future scientists for their communities!
Magic school bus (Arctic edition) 😁
Haha very much so!! Feeling like miss frizzle
Congratulations my friend this video is very good 👍 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
