He was still reluctant. In the scene at camp, Javier is with Dutch and the others against John and Micah, but if you pay attention to him, you see him slowly pointing his gun at them, while the others had no hesitation. He knew he would regret it.

Actually, this track is a combination of John and Arthur's themes. Arthur's (which you can hear in other tracks like 'Outlaws from the West' and 'Blood Feuds, Ancient and Modern') is definitely the most prominent, while John's theme takes a backseat here and is also played in a different rhythm than in American Venom.

As much as I try, 2:23 always breaks me down.
When it first came up in the game it was such an amazing moment, knowing that you will die on the mountain, drawing all the attention and bullets on you for John to escape. One final outburst of rage and adrenaline before laying down in peace, facing the sun.
The passing of a legend forgotten to time, but not those who were lucky enough to know him.
Everytime I hear that part I cry :(

This is even more powerful when you realize how much of a coward Micah was. He could only attack Arthur when he was weak and exhausted. Before that, Micah knew Arthur would murder him with his bare hands. So, Bell took advantage of Arthur in his lowest physical point to kill him.

This is when Arthur achieves his redemption, in high honor is like he’s finally accepting himself and all the things he’s done by protecting his brother in his final breaths it’s like he accepting that maybe he’s not a bad man and he can change even if he has not much time left, however in low honor is him letting his rage out in a final blaze of glory hopefully doing at least a good action before he dies, he wants the hell to be full when he arrive. Fascinating music

I feel like people cannot enjoy this song without playing the part of the game it comes from. It's an ode to the gang as you scream along the road barrelling to save Abigail. Everything feels reactionary and desperate. And it's captured in this urgent pounding theme to a T.

The leitmotif from "A Short Walk In A Pretty Town" hits so hard and really spells out that this is it: This is Arthur Morgan's last stand. A sacrifice for the last truly loyal members of the gang apart from himself. (I say "members" because Mac, Sean, Kieran, Hosea, Lenny, Molly, Ms. Grimshaw, Sadie, Abigail, and Charles existed along with John.)
