Could an ancient manuscript have prophecies for today?
It’s easy to think in these modern times that history is irrelevant-especially ancient history.
After all, we’re living in a mind-blowing time of technological wonder. From space-bound telescopes that give us a glimpse into the Universe, to the powerful machines we carry in our hands unlocking a window to people and places all over the world.
Our time is truly unique. So, do old books still matter today?
The answer is yes.
Frankly, the past becomes more relevant to our day, because some of those dusty old books tell us about our day and the future.
The book of Malachi is one such book. It’s found in the Old Testament of the Bible. This portion of the Bible is also known as the Hebrew Scriptures. It was written over 400 years before Jesus Christ, and yet has a message for us today. What could that message be?
On this program, we’ll explore the answer. So, get ready, as we go deep into the past, and unlock “Malachi’s Prophetic Message for Today.”
Welcome to Tomorrow’s World, where we bring an understanding of today’s world, through the prophecies of the Bible.
The prophet Malachi lived and prophesied sometime in the latter part of the 5th century BC. His message was to the Jewish people, who had been resettled in the land of Judah after the Babylonian captivity.
Malachi gave strong medicine to his generation. They had become lax in keeping God’s law, their priests were corrupt and unfair in their judgments, and divorce was ripping that society apart. Some were even wondering whether it mattered if they served God or not.
As we consider the challenges in the modern Western world, it’s fascinating and perhaps a little sobering to look at the warnings that Malachi gave his generation.
The warnings are written in the style of a dialogue between God and His people. Let’s read a few of the passages, to catch a glimpse of what God was saying to that generation.
We might just find there’s a message for ours.
We’ll start in Malachi 2:7:
“For the lips of a priest should keep knowledge, and people should seek the law from his mouth; for he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts. But you have departed from the way; You have caused many to stumble at the law.”
The priest at that time was the one who taught them God’s laws and led in public worship-and yet the priests had become so corrupt that people could not trust what they were teaching anymore. Instead of making God’s ways clear and plain, they had caused the Law to become confused and muddled in the minds of the people.
“You have not kept My ways but have shown partiality in the law” (v. 9).
The law was being applied unfairly, unjustly. Do we think our age is the first to grapple with issues of injustice and unequal treatment under the law? Malachi showed that God was not pleased when judges showed favoritism instead of fairly and consistently applying God’s law.
“And this is the second thing you do: you cover the altar of the LORD with tears, with weeping and crying; So He does not regard the offering anymore, nor receive it with goodwill from your hands. Yet you say, ‘For what reason?’ Because the LORD has been witness between you and the wife of your youth, with whom you have dealt treacherously…. ‘For the LORD God of Israel says that He hates divorce, for it covers one’s garment with violence,’ says the LORD of hosts” (Malachi 2:13-14, 16).
That generation was noted for its lax attitudes toward marital commitment and faithfulness. And God was not pleased.
How do you think He looks at our generation? Is He pleased that so many marriages end in divorce? What about the conditions that lead to divorce? Some people wrongly accuse the Bible of encouraging hate and disrespect toward women, but nothing could be further from the truth.
What we just read shows that God is very upset when women are not treated fairly and respectfully in marriage. He tells men, don’t abuse, neglect, or hurt your wives in any way. God cares about women, and the Bible upholds the marriage relationship, which was made for the benefit and happiness of men and women.
Notice, there’s more;
“You have wearied the LORD with your words; Yet you say, ‘In what way have we wearied Him?’ In that you say, ‘Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and He delights in them’…” (v. 17).
There were some in that day who were turning God’s law upside down. They were trying to make it look like what God calls good is actually bad. And what God calls bad, well, that’s actually good for you. And they were then trying to say that is somehow behind this upside down approach. Do we see any glimpse of that today, in our society?

A wonderful presentation my bro...Yes John was the messenger of Malachi 3 to prepare the way for the Lord and he was the messenger of the Covenant between the Law and Grace and he came in the spirit and power of Elijah to turn the hearts of the (fathers to the children) because the fathers kept the law but it was time for the new message of Grace and that's how John turned their hearts by pointing them to the Person of Grace the Lord Jesus Christ....
But the Elijah of Malachi 4 that comes before the Great and Dreadful day of the Lord is to turn the (hearts of the children back to the fathers) again,the Pentecostal fathers that is because through the Pentecostal feast or the festival of weeks which is the Gentile dispensation of 7 church ages there came a Great falling away but did not Jesus said TRUL/ABSOLUTELY ELIJAH THE PROPHET SHALL TRULY COME AND RESTORE ALL THINGS!

"My messenger" is Elijah mentioned in the next chapter and the "Messenger of the covenant" is Jesus. The "Me" is the Lord of hosts! The audience of the Book of Malachi is our generation. The Lord of hosts is coming near to the sons of Jacob at the 6th Seal for Judgment. (Zeph 1:7) Israel's last chance is the 5th Seal period which shall last "one year and some days". (Isa 32:10) If Israel does not turn back to Yahweh and rebuke satan, then Yahweh the Lord of hosts will blow the whistle of Isa 5 and Isa 7. Here comes the "destroyer of the nations" (Gog of Al MAWsil, Iraq.) Mal 3:5 is Rev 3:10 is Rev 6:12-17 is Zeph 1:7 is Ezek 7:25 is 1 Thes 5:1-3. {swift witness means "suddenly"}

One of the reasons I really like this Tomorrow's World piece is that it CLEARLY STATES THAT THE TEN COMMANDMENTS ARE PART OF THE LAW OF MOSES. Do not be fooled by those who try to convince you that The Law of Moses does not contain the Ten Commandments.

I heard Psalm 54:3 for my situation in this building and God said study and obey 1 Timothy 2 for the situation here. Love everyone and pray for their salvation even you are spitefully used. I was praying and fasting when a dark fearful shadow came from an apartment on the opposite side of my apartment and came close to me. I said the Lord is against and it left. I suffer from anxiety and panicking at times but these go with prayers and scriptures. 2 I went to see my doctor by appointment but doctor not there. 3 times and hospital says reducing staff. Please pray 1 Timothy 2 for everyone in the world. Please pray for the Peace of Jerusalem. God bless you. I will show up for one of your teaching. God bless you and thanks pastor

Dear brothers and sisters we break the law of Moses every second of every minute of every hour of every day the first commandment is to love God above all things we don't do that that's why Jesus had to come the law for believers is what we are rescued from the law for unbelievers is what they need to be rescued from,
And that doesn't mean that we go in sin that just means that in God's sovereignty he allows us to have weakness so that we can recognize that we need him to keep us humble

The good news of the Kingdom is that sin shall not have dominion over us, Rom 6:14; 6:1-22. Grace teaches us to be godly. Titus 2:11-12. Jesus came to save us OUT of slavery to sin. Jn. 8:31-36.
All we have to do is deny ourselves, forsake all that we have, and lose our lives by actually obeying He whom we say is our King. Mt. 16:24-27, Lk. 14:26-33. I.e., we have to stop sinning. Gal. 5:19-21, or we won't inherit the Kingdom of God.
Being in the Kingdom means being under authoritarian rule by a King, Jesus Christ.
This is an amazing breakdown of the book of Malachi and prophecy that speaks to the end time. Probably one of the better telecasts in recent years. Mr. McNair did a wonderful job with the teaching in the presentation. You guys are getting better!
However the presentation missed the part in verse 3 about purifying “the sons of Levi”. This would have been a wonderful time to explain how the sons of Levi in the New testament era represent the church. You guys have a wonderful minister that explains how the called out ones are to: put on priestly garments, take up the morning and evening sacrifice through prayer and to keep their lamps burning. These have to do with our priestly duties. God says he will purify the sons of Levi (spiritual), not the sons of Ephraim and Manasseh.
Another thing about the tribulation is that not only Christ said this trial come upon the whole world (Rev 3:10), but this is corroborated by the Apostle John who in vision sees all people from many nations and tribes (Rev. 7:9) go through the great tribulation (Rev 7:14). It’s just not about the Israelite nations. Great presentation though.

Some people are teaching out of some non canonical books, should we focus on any of those?
Deborah Rose Fistner, I focus on the usual 66 books. There's so much in there already. The whole of the Bible is rarely taught in any church buildings, other than the usual pet Scriptures that don't require anything of believers.
I have read the Apocrypha and other ancient writings, but it's very clear they are not from God, at least to me. They speak with a different voice, whereas the 66 Books in the Canon seem, to me, to all speak with the same voice.

I love God so much, but i feel abandoned. I think He hates me.
I have no home, no car, and I barely eat enough and I'm nearing an age when i will start having health issues and should retire, but i have nothing to retire on.
I work almost 70 hours/week and bring home practically nothing and it's been this way for years.
The only way i feel blessed is that I'm still in good health... for now.

There is a message here directed to the remnant of the seven churches in Asia, who confess that Yeshua/Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of Almighty God which updated states that the written word of Almighty God is a science...a deep and wonderful science which will save us from the full force of Wormwood...if we practice righteousness as Jesus taught us to. Our Deity would have been negligent if they hadn't told us about the true nature of the universe which now, in this modern era, is represented as electromagnetic force. It's in all things and in all sciences...and in all life forms. This then is the 'word' of Almighty God...it is an electromagnetic science that works within us and just as Almighty God is a Spirit we too who follow Jesus and Moses, accurately, are following that righteous science that can defeat all evil as Jesus defeated all evil against him...defeat even the fiery lake of sulphur.

I really do like Tomorrow's World but in this video they preaching for the World and not the Truth. Jeremiah prophesies a lot about the Abomination of Desolation, Isaiah brings it up and Daniel names it. But Malachi devotes all four books to teach what the Abomination is. The last line in the Old testament Christ says when He come the first time "lest I bring a curse"......TEACH ON THIS!!
Malachi is Old Covenant in the New Covenant Paul says for those who are ruled by grace, the law has none effect Rom 4:14. The New Testament Scriptures have made it plain and clear that, for the believer, the Law was done away with 2Co 3:14, ended Rom 10:4, abolished Eph 2:15, changed Heb 7:11-12, blotted out Col 2:14, and nailed to the cross Col 2:14. If the modern Bibles say that Jesus did NOT “abolish” the Law in Mat 5:17, then what do you do with the verse that says he DID “abolish” the Law in Eph 2:15. Besides it says destroy NOT abolished.

Hi I too believe in these scriptures. I believe in Jesus Christ, I know that he can not lie, always keeps his promises (prophesies) He is the same yesterday, today and for ever. Here are some interesting scriptures to think about.
(Revelation 14:6) Jesus promised to send a Angel with the everlasting gospel to the earth. When did this happen? who was this Angel? who did he go to?
(Mal. 4:5) Jesus promised to send Elijah before Jesus comes back. When did this happen? Who did he go to?
(Acts 2:17) in the last days Jesus will pour out his spirit upon the youth.
Joseph Smith is the only person that claims to have received an angel (Moroni) and the gospel, visions, prophesies. He was only 14 years old. No other christian denomination has claimed any such thing.

Our Heavenly Father said not to add or take away from his word. Yet his name was changed to LORD and God. His real name is Yahuah/YAHWEH/YHWH or YAH for short. His name is in HALLELUYAH. 50 generations after Jesus in Mathew 24 stated " There be some standing here that shall not taste death till all these things come to pass." Destruction of Jerusalem is spoken of thru chapter 24 verse 35 then the end of the world which no man knows only the Father. Not even Jesus knew. So that answer cannot be figured out using Jesus understandings.

Malachi’s prophetic Message is NOT a springboard to launch into speaking to the world about the Good News of the Coming Kingdom of God. The plain truth is - God is NOT trying to save the world at this time - and Malachi's prophecy is NOT speaking to the deceived nations of the world.
In Malachi 4: 5, God has clearly said, He will send YOU (God's chosen people) Elijah the prophet BEFORE the Great and Dreadful Day of the Lord comes! In Malachi's prophecy, God is "speaking" to God’s chosen people (God’s true elect) shortly before Christ returns for His bride at the end of the age. Why is there a NEED for God to send YOU (God’s chosen people) Elijah the prophet BEFORE the Great and Dreadful Day of the Lord comes? The Bible gives the answer.
In a letter to the NT church, the apostle Peter wrote that Judgement must begin at the House of God and the "righteous" (God's true elect) will scarcely be saved (1 Peter 4:17-18). Malachi's prophecy is "speaking" to God's true elect shortly before Christ returns for His bride because (we all like sheep) are gone astray and ARE DEPARTED (Malachi 3: 7).
Speaking to His chosen people at the end of the age, Jesus clearly said, Not everyone who says to Him, Lord, Lord shall enter into the Kingdom, but the one who does the Will of His Father who is in heaven (Matt 7: 21). What is the Father's Will?
The Bible gives the answer.
God the Father sent His Only Begotten Son to take away the sin of the world to RECONCILE ALL THINGS (in heaven, in earth, and under earth) to God (Phil. 2: 9 - 11). That is why Christ tasted death for ALL mankind. Can TWO walk together except they be agreed? (Amos 3: 3).
Today more than 600 groups can all trace their origins back to HWA and the WCG.
Since the death of HWA, God's true elect have already demonstrated (more than 600 times) that the answer to that question is a resounding - NO! Today, MANY of God's chosen people REFUSE to be RECONCILED with our scattered brethren - THAT is why the righteous shall scarcely be saved.

This is why I listen to the Tomorrow's World series it shows me how and why to keep the 10 Commandments. I was hoping that Tomorrow's World would do a program on the book of Revelation the 18th chapter and help me to understand this one book that's not talked about much.
