That start and stop button... you should check in with your dealer. Jet Tools, currently, shows a paddle switch thingy on that switch. And, the brochure advertises the magnetic switch it is and so forth. Check it out.

OOOOhhhhkaayy.. First off, its a woodworking apron, not overalls and the hat is extremely functional. The moonshine however is 100% spot on HAHAH

So I'm having a electrician wire up my shop for the JET 12" Planer/Jointer as well as the JET 10", 3 HP, 1 Ph 230v. He's asking me what the receptacles need to be. I saw something on-line from a customer who stated that these machines don't come with a plug (pigtail). I've asked this question on JET's home page but haven't received an answer yet. Anyone know what plug, pigtail configuration is required?
Mine did not come with a pigtail, you can pick any 240v one you want from Menards or hardware store, thats what I did. Works great.
flatten the wide side first then hold that flattened side against the guide to square the edge of the board giving you two flat edges at 90 degrees then the planer then the table saw

Thanks for this review. I was curious if you tried any other combo units prior to getting the Jet? I was initially looking at the Hammer A3 31 but then discovered the Jet, along with a few other combo units (CWI, Rikon, Grizzly). I thought it was interesting that Jet has two combo units but one has a porkchop blade guard and fewer cutters on the helical head. Anyhow, just curious what other units, if any, you tried before the Jet. Thanks!
I haven't tried many honestly, but the others seemed either more expensive for the same thing or inferior.
I just got this machine and came to find out the manual calls for a 30 amp breaker? Is that what you use?

I’ve never seen a flat cast iron fence on a jointer, Delta and Powermatic dealers have been driving over jointer fences for decades to get them flat!😂
So you put your finger on the blade with the machine plugged in and a sensitive on switch?
With my hand no where near the switch, simmer down.
Can you joint boards wider than 12”?
You can take the guard off but you'll have to clean the other side

Longest I've done on this one is 12ft
You must have set up extra supports? How long of a face joint do you think you can do without extra supports?
@@jovo9000 No extra supports needed, a lot lead up is fine, but reality shows that a short bed is just fine.
If your concerns over the off switch grows, don't hesitate to wire up an emergency off button, like the gas stations have. It will give you some peace of mind if your son wants to help the ol Cowboy on a project. If it's all the same to you, I'll keep letting someone roll my joints the old fashioned way. (Trembling is a tad bit worse. Gonna check out occupational therapy with the Neurologist. 🙏🤞) The question really isn't if you had to buy it again, all over, would you.
