So many negative comments :( It's easy to criticise, not so easy to actually make something yourself. Show me an open world that YOU have made that's better than a Ubisoft one, then we'll talk. It takes thousands of people at least a year to make each of these games, and all anybody can do is whine, rather than recognising the extraordinary amount of work that goes into each game. Not to mention that each game is expected to be bigger and with better graphics than the one before, so the developers are basically constantly learning on the job and pushing their limits. They have high expectations placed on them and not much time to do it. It's understandable that there's sometimes repetition or bugs. Why not focus on the incredible amount they get right, not the few things they get wrong?
They do that for us? You mean show us ridiculously awesome footage of Rainbow Six Siege, then only deliver on half of what it was supposed to be? Gotcha.
Nope, during a game-play reveal they have to render only a particular segment or part of a game so it is impossible to keep that level of graphics for full game even on a very high end rig.
They really should remove the "All in-game footage" captions, then. Because that's 100% false advertisement. That'd be like me buying a nice car online in mint condition, only to have it delivered in fair condition, and told by the company I bought it from that this car actually runs better than the shiny new one I wanted.
It's really sad to see people taking the designers and developers for granted and complaining about glitches and stuff. You have no idea how much work they put in. Why are you expecting perfection? Just value their creativity.
Yeah but you are not seen the entire picture. The desicion sell and unfinished game is not resposability of the developers, i mean they are just artist like 3d artist, level designers, programmers, etc. If an executive fool want to sell the game before its bug free or even finished is not fault of the developers is fault of the executive junk piece of shit that only thing on money.

Simple, you can go high res- low res easily. Try to go low res- high res and its not that great. Devs start with insanly high res, insane shadows, similations, and extreme amount of polygons on a model. Game devs optimise the game at the very end, its one of the things they do last. Sometimes they don't have an optimised version of the game yet so they show what they have, and then they downgrade it so that majority of players can play it

Environment artists do not build the level, that's the designers job. Environment artists make the props that eventually replace the placeholders the designer put in.
I haven’t played far cry, watch dogs or the latest assasins creed but let me tell you. Level design in The Division is absolute top notch. Like near From Software. All the missions start you off in a certain place. By the time you finish an exit the mission you come to find out the exit was hidden in plain sight, just how FromSoftware doe it
The last game I played published by Ubisoft was Rainbow Six Vegas 1 and 2. Level design is pretty good. Whatever happened to those linear complex forms of level design?
The sole reason of Downgrade are the Hardwares of the Consoles. Everything is built on PC and then ported to run in console H/W but at times the development to porting it on console is inconsistent and so although most of our PC's can run those but a typical console h/w just can't so they degrade it and since the console market is a large portion of their profit so they have to create games that are on par with the PC counterparts if not better...because nobody would then buy a game on console if it looks and runs better at PC a thousands folds and they sure can't loose console customers. The Only option that they are left as a Company (Profit) is to degrade it to the level console h/w can sufficiently run it.
I try to get a job as Level Designer at Massive but I never get the chance to show what I can do! I allways get shut down on my applications, hard to know what to work on when you get 0 feedback to improve

I have always wanted to be a video game tester but I lack the experience in the industry of video games. The only thing I how to is play video games not design or programming.
So you wanna be a game designer? (best job ever i tell ya). But you wont just get there by doing nothing. Try out Unreal or Unity which are free Engines. For modeling try downloading Blender which is free as well. For 2D drawing get Photoshop (quite expansive) or Gimp (free) and a Wacom tablet. On UA-cam are thousands of tutorial videos to help you out. This are basically the most used programs we use on my study. You could also look for a game design study, but they are not in every country. When you show up for an intake at such a study you'll have to show them what you are capable of, so..good luck! Also don't expect to directly work at an triple AAA studio. Only the highest skilled people work there. So look around for some smaller indie studios. Which are in many cases better to work at, since you are just with a small team, which are all going to be your friends. Triply AAA studios mostly take people who have shipped at least 1 or 2 games at a different (smaller) studio.

i just want to know what the program you used like unreal engine 4 or what to make Ubisoft their games ?????
In house developed engine that I can't tell you the name of. Besides, you wouldn't have access to it unless you work for the company.
More like,
Ubisoft: "RLD?"
Applicant:"Erh..yes?"
Ubisoft: "You're hired!"
0:17 is it Unreal engine ?
nope
It is SnowDrop engine. But it doesnt mean, you cant achieve something like this in Unreal Engine.
That doesn't look anything like UE.
no it is not ue
It could be a custum Unreal or snowdrop
How about fixing the bugs?
What is your engine? Will I be able to use it? Or buy it.
I love you guys, I am from montreal too, and I can't wait for farcry 5 because farcry 3 is my favourite game.
Ubisoft already announce a DLC for this video.
1:59 what game is that ?
Do you guys know what software it is at 01:19?
Did you ever figure it out?
I have always wanted to be a video game tester but I lack the experience in the industry of video games. The only thing I how to is play video games not design or programming.
A JOB LIKE THIS SOUNDS SO FUN
Which software do they use
How to join you and these kind of groups? please answer...
How much things I should know to be a game designer and a developer and from where to start
Kein Name Yes dude! you are right thanks
Indeed. Ubisoft made some of my favorite games, but working there someday is definitely not on my wishlist.
what about prince of persia??
