My dad has an old one in a garage somewhere. Needs some work since it hasn't moved for a few years but I'm thinking of putting some money into it and using it as my first car when I turn 18
That's definitely not working right. You need to lower your target rpm. I would put it 500 rpm below wherever you end up after shifting. You're shifting early in this video but if that's how you drive this car you need to lower the RPMs. The whole point is just to keep the throttle body open so that there is less restriction from keeping the turbo spinning. You should never increase RPMs while doing this. the bangs and stuff are cool but you're destroying your clutch because it is not set up correctly. Watch The Car Passion Channel's video for this. It is for miatas but it's using megasquirt so the concept is the same. It's called "Shooting Flames! Launch Control & Flat Foot Shifting Tutorial. (Megasquirt)". It takes adjusting, but go listen to how his RPMs decrease steadily when his clutch is in.
The flat foot shift should only be set to hold rpm not increase or decrease it. When I had it on my l28et I set it at about 5900rpm since that’s around where I would shift.
I don't think its setup quite right. Maybe a lower limit rpm or higher engagement rpm, but the rpm shouldn't increase when you put clutch in, it should drop to where it's going to be when you engage the next gear. Sounds mad tho 👌
@@TurbochargedCreations ah yes, that makes sense. It did take a lot of tweaking to get it just right in my friends car, especially since his tachometer doesn't work. Was good practice for mine haha. Keep up the good shit 👌
I have a S 30 with an L Series that's turbo and megasquirt. I'm on my thirteenth transmission because of flat foot shifting and beating on it hard. Granted they've all been junkyard Transmissions. I finally just built a turbo t5. I don't have it set up in my megasquirt... I just have my Redline set all the time at a certain number normally 6200 and it's a soft-touch. I don't like how violent the megasquirt is... where it was super easy with the MSD but be careful a broken transmission or something in the Driveline if you have good tires on it are in your future. It makes really awesome pictures at night and video... lol I've had six foot Flames come out the back of mine... Aaaand shouldn't you be revving yours alittle higher. Your combustion Chambers little more efficient then my l series but I recommend 20 degrees at 20psi to wherever your power starts to fall off. set it a couple hundred RPM less than that. Turn it up👹
You arent wrong, i have been shifting early in this video but mainly because i havent got it dialed in fully and for some reason my brain isnt letting me rev it out more lol too busy looking at the road
How/where did you tie into the speed sensor? I haven't done mine yet as it's a magnetic sensor and the output is a wave -- I was worried about overvolting the MS3x.
I'd say they aren't very complicated. I've had mine for almost 2 years now and have been collecting parts for it. Suspension is a bit more complicated and there isn't very many after market options but little modifications can make other parts work. Engine wise the z31 and z32 are very similar. The vg30e can be just as fast as a vg30de it just doesn't have Dohc. That also means they are much easier to work on 😉.
Shit. I always keep the pedal to the floor in the z when im hammering down. I was thinkin of putti g my launch controle up to higher rpm thie at redline n see how this compares
Driving a manuel car the right way is not easy but one most learn rev match, heal and toe and speed shift. It is a bit of a challenge because so much is going on at the same time, gas, clutch, breaks and shifting gears. So in other words, manual cars are only for the "Real Driver". That is why most people can't drive a stick and just get a automatic. I drive cars with manuel gear because I wanna feel the whole car and that is only possible with a stick shift.
It's safer to have a tune that does it rather than just having it on any car. Obviously it's possible in any manual car, but this doesn't destroy your clutch
Yeah...you can. You just need to know how and be fast about it. I've been shifting without lifting for 20+ years and the only thing I ever broke was a u joint and that's just due to too much power. Mustang's, skylines, 300z, amd now 350z. No lift shifting is an art.
@@gregorius32 and with MS it keeps you in the right rpm to keep the clutch alive. This is the real world people don’t make a perfect shift everytime no point of not using a feature that helps.
PSA: don't do this, or at least not like this guy did. Notice how the revs go higher despite shifting to a higher gear? Then he just drops the clutch? Yeah...that's bad.
Z31s are underrated.
I found Z31 for very cheap, and I'm thinking about buying it! I have a plan for it, and it would be a cool project
@@TheRazorJDM sounds awesome? How much is it? I just bought a 280zx for $600

One thumbs down....somebody must be jealous. Lol... Love your channel brother. Keep it up!
Appreciate all the work you put into this, bro. Miss my MS2/3 tuning days! Thanks for the motivation, bud.

Great videos dude, just starting my z31 build, thanks for all your content. Getting lots of great info!

Way cool! Super clean z31 brother! That car seems quick. What size injectors/ turbo you running?
750cc with a fairly mild t3/t4 hybrid
Where is your interior camera mounted? I was thinking about adding a camera to show the driver in my Z, and perhaps a rear camera as well.
Instructions unclear my transmission fell out
Nice

Speed is pulled from a pulse coming off one of the stock wires under the dash.
hey man what are those 2 gauges you have in the center? they look sick!
How much money have you invested in all this work? I want to run a vg33 swap in my Nissan hardbody

Got a question for you about your bump stopper spacer where did you purchase this part. I have the same coil-over

Does Nistune allow for Launch control or flat shift?
Nope. All though it does have a form of launch control, it is very basic and almost ineffective

Its a go pro mounted to the roof
