The Cookie Calls: Making The Dark Crystal Sugar Cookies - Behind The Scenes

About a week ago, Fauxpop/Definitive Film - a studio here in Goderich, Ontario - released their newest documentary, The Crystal Calls, on Netflix. I figured I could probably use a little break from being in the kitchen all day, so I sat down to watch it. Absolutely loved it. Much like their other documentaries, they dig deep and don't spare on the details. You could go into it knowing nothing about Gelflings or Skeksis or Mystics, but by the end of it you'll definitely want to. Their passion for their subject is contagious.
Later that evening, I was rolling out cookies, and needed some music. I'm always listening to music while I decorate cookies. Well. I'm just constantly listening to music, really. Matthew Hussey had shared a link on FB to The Crystal Calls soundtrack that he had composed on Spotify, so I decided to give it a listen.
I had a bit of a cookie idea blockage earlier, and after giving Matt's soundtrack a listen, I had come up with a few decent ideas. I gave Matt a shoutout on FB, saying that I was rolling dough to his tunes, and he commented with "The Cookie Calls". Boom - another idea. Hence this video. And some tasty Dark Crystal themed cookies for The Crystal Calls crew.
This video is a little different than my regular Kookievision videos - less tutorial, and more behind the scenes. No dialogue, and it's set to two of Matt's beautiful songs in their entirety from The Crystal Calls soundtrack - "Interpreting The Lines" and "Rebirth". It's kind of like my own little homage to The Crystal Calls documentary. I also got myself some new video editing software, and I wanted to take it for a little test run. And hey - no star wipes!
