Hazzard0 you get pined to the top to host the discussion on hand made vrs brain made. ... let’s be honest. A little hand. Well folks. What do y’all think?
My mother made stained glass window hangs, lamp shades, etc when I was a kid. Watching this brought back many pleasant memories. Laser or not, it's art. Thanks for sharing. Love your work.
CNC is a craft just like any other. I am going on year one of CNC woodworking and I mostly make sawdust and cuss words. Anyone can do it but to do it as well as Mr. D., well done sir.
As I've told a number of people - so many projects and people I follow on YT, I don't follow for the projects or hell, even dislike the like the end results on many, but I LEARN so many new things and techniques I've never though about... simple jigs to make things 100x easier, hybrid tools to get a specific purpose done, etc
This is legitimately one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen made... yes MADE...using new tools, but tools none the less. No less skill, imagination or thought is required of these tools than ones that were created hundreds of years ago. Jimmy, you are a constant inspiration and i couldn't enjoy what you do more.
Beautiful Jimmy! What like most about it is that it’s something you never done before. With as much as you have done, being original must be difficult.
WAZER Stained glass it is. Looks great. Jimmy has a fantastic eye and touch. Inspirational fella. Don’t get too bothered about something that’ll wind you up. Think of the good bits. Style. And the rest. Positive education my friends. We’re all good at something. Encourage. Cheers. Rant over. 👍🏽
A thing of beauty old school window design with a 21 century twist! i love it, Thank you for sharing this Jimmy, i love watching your videos Don't stop making them!
Also, no toxic lead fumes. And did I mention waste and dust yet? My question though, is to the relative strength of the lacing. Does this attain a holistic strength when fully assembled?
If Jimmy cant do it, no one can! Your way of thinking and solving problems is like non other. I hope one day i get as good as you Jimmy!! keep up the great work!
Watching this the second time. First of all, the technique is very cool. Second, the end result is honest, as it does not try to lie about itself. It feels industrial and synthetic, exactly what it is. Would look great in a workshop, would not put it in a home or a church. So overall, I am quite OK with it. Good job.
I'm impressed by the wide range of skills you have! And I must say that I'm equally impressed how much you interact with your viewers! I've never seen any other channel on UA-cam of this size answering and reacting to the comment as much as you do! Keep up the good work :)
Great video. Thanks for sharing. I use to do stain glass the old way. This process is awesome. Especially for today’s I want it now attitudes. Thanks Jimmy.
super cool, my aunt makes these kind of glass art but she makes them cutting the glass by hand and then soldering the pieces together. this machine is really good, it let's you cut shapes that you could not do by hand
Fantastic Jimmy! It takes talent AND artistic vision to make that. No matter what resources were used. This is one of my favorite Diresta projects so far.
Nice work yer again Jimmy. A really cool twist on the traditional stained glass. I always love the different ways that you can get a job done. In this case acrylic, glass, spray paint, and a Wazer. Classic Diresta. HAHAHA. Thanks for all you do.
Great project! Loved the ending when the string version of What Would You do with a Drunken Sailor started playing! Your videos never cease to surprise
At first glance I wanted to hate this. A passed friend of mine was a stained glass artist and had osteoporosis of the hands. Ron Carpenter hand cut every piece and leaded them together with the gentleness I'll never be able to understand. His last gift to the earth was two windows in a church. I wanted to dislike this but Ron told me a long time ago that no matter how something beautiful was conceived and built it's still available for whoever sees it to wonder and marvel at whatever it is. Long story short thanks for bringing your vision to the light and doing it your way.
@@gbond1010 I'll respectfully disagree. It still takes a great deal of planning and the layout of the the piece is still difficult it's own way. In this case I think that it was a good way to show that there is more than one way to skin a cat. At least Jimmy didn't 3d print it🤪
@@gbond1010 By extension you could then say that Picasso was lazy because he didn't make his own paint and paintbrushes like some of the masters did. Or metal casters are lazy because they didn't mine their own metals. Nearly every artist uses the available tools to his/her advantage. There would no doubt be a particular reverence for any artist that does everything from scratch but then they would have less time to create the actual art. It is a tradeoff and for me, I am satisfied to more results as opposed to appreciating an artist for recreating the wheel.
I love the sound in your videos - there’s a satisfying clickity-clack whenever you move pieces from one place to another - it’s hard to describe, but it’s soothing and satisfying - like bubble wrap maybe? Love it.
I love the intro. The idea of disposable art or destroying art is an interesting concept to me. My favorite story from art school was that of Rauschenburg erasing Koonig's drawing. I love my work and the work of others, but it's a reminder that nothing is permanent and to not get too attached to something.
@@Mrcaffinebean to each there own, but I disagree. To me, true art is about self-expression or observation. It's selfish in that sense. Art that is meant to be sold or commissioned in some way is different to me. It doesn't make it less beautiful or interesting, but the connection to the artist is different. Just my thoughts.
Fantastic Build Jimmy. Love the green glass looks just like Malachite . You are a massive inspiration to me and many others. I've seen all your videos and I always look forward to watching what you create next. Keep doing what you do buddy. Massive respect Pete.
WOW....I have made stained glass for years now. A Wazer would save me hours of cutting and grinding glass and improve the quality of my work. Great project.
I think this is amazing! I love the technical expertise that comes together to make something totally beautiful. Hats off to you, man - I wish I had like 10% of the ideas you run with! 😃👍
That is really well done and cool! I don't know the history that well behind stained glass, but I imagine those random shapes and everything were from selecting off cuts and broken pieces laying around and artistically putting them together to fit a circle. But in our modern era, we can create the design first and then cut them incredibly accurately to size. Gorgeous work!
You hit the print button and assembled

He still made the design
The idea has to be there for the item to be made. Without that then there is nothing.
well Mr. Jimmy don't bother your self with bums
Using the Wazer to cut the glass is genius. Everything looks like it fits so nicely. This looks great Jimmy.

Incredible how smooth that laser cut that glass! If I were you I'd never cut glass by hand again!- you make it look so easy!
Closing song was my favorite part. Would like to see that caulking tube tip modification.
Me to.
It looks like a piece of the brass tube Jimmy uses for the icepick cover, attached to the tube with electrical tape.

love that the stencil will be on the floor too! beautiful project
Awesome piece! My kids watched entire video with me in awe!
A real work of art, bravo. Best use of water cutting I have seen. Plus you got a nifty stencil for your floor.
So satisfying how the pieces all fit together.
A modern take on a classic craft with the signature diresta twist!
Good job it looked awesome!
Wicked job Jimmy, It's the new age of stained glass windows.
A pleasure to watch your creations. You are becoming more and more professional and your style is unmistakable. Beautiful light that is in your videos
Man with all those machines you have you're now unstoppable
Great work as always!
for me you are the #1 Jimmy!
Nice progression on the water cutter programming.
Stepping into the 8th dimension.
Well done sir! Whatta way to represent 2020 with an awesome representation of such an old art, brought to light with today’s technology.
Very similar to the mosaics of the soviet times. They depicted workers, engineers, medics, scientists, cosmonauts. Perfectly executed.
Да. Таких мозаик множество раскидано по странам.
They cut and I cut glass by hand (just saying)
Yes they did a lot of executing in the USSR back in the day...
i smell a commie...
In soviet russia the glass cuts itself
