Real question for us short girls. I’m 4’8 and at the age of 16 ready to get my License in 2 months from now, what tips do you guys have for me in order to pass my test and what are some struggles will I face driving because of my height?
No matter what, don’t panic and think “I can I will i must.” Just be calm. Calmness through anything allows u to think clearly through any obstacles. Stay calm. Slow and steady wins the race. Also, you go with your own judgement and safety. For instance, I was getting my trucking license (for a semi) and sometimes the instructors would tell me to go (as in make a turn or something) when cars might be coming. Like hey girl step on it and make this turn. That was fine for them as people with years of experience but for me as a rookie, I did not fell safe rushing. If you personally don’t feel safe on what they are asking u to do and you would rather wait until you get an arrow or til cars pass, speak up. In fact, maybe try to have a conversation with them beforehand about such scenarios. Have a balance of being able to listen to instruction but if you don’t feel safe speak up. Listen to your gut also. Also look look look. You need to constantly be aware of what’s going on around you. Check the side mirrors check the rear view I usually check two times and on both and look over mine shoulder briefly before a lane change. Driving should be about constantly being aware of your safety and others safety, what’s in front of you 50 feet, what’s next to you, what’s behind and being calm and present and double checking. Also, when a light turns green, best to look right and left before u go to make sure no ones running it. I would practice as much as you can beforehand. If you can’t, at least sit in a drivers seat as much as you can. I’d say good luck, but you don’t need it. you got this!!!!! Also, stop before the crosswalk. Always!!!!!!!!!
