I own Birkins and Kelly but I still love Chanel and always will. I just keep the bags I have because I cannot justify the prices now. But I agree in term of aesthetic Chanel has something more. I’m just way more careful with my Chanel, because I know the repair will not be like it will for my Hermès bags. Hermès fits my lifestyle more also. But I won’t switch my entire collection for Hermès, I think my Chanel will always have a place. Like I don’t get rid of my LV, I use all my bags and I don’t think that my collection should be only one brand.
It’s best to own both Chanel and Hermes. I wouldn’t say Hermes is better than Chanel as they serve different purposes in one’s wardrobe. I wouldn’t give one up for the other.
When you factor into prespending in Hermes, of course Chanel hand down the winner when it come to selling with higher profit.
I removed my stickers off my Birkin and the rose gold was tarnished the week I got it! I think it had been sitting in the shelves for a while and it was humid the week I bought it. I took it to the Paris spa immediately and they cleaned it right away. BUT, I did notice a week later where the nods are on the hardware it started to tarnish again. I think it's just rose gold hardware. Sigh, oh well. I prefer the Chanel aesthetic better as well but have lately been leaning toward more Hermes bags.

I still have fashion with Chanel because the style is more flexible and look younger than Hermes, the style of Hermes seems very formal
But hermes bags look too casual.. Doesn't stand out. Side by side with Chanel surely the latter shines ❤

Great points on both brands. For me the fact that I can buy several things online with Hermes is a point in their favor. For those that say, love their belts and scarves but don't have an Hermes close to them, it really is a great way to at least get an orange box 😁

Unfortunately, in Australia, you have to practically purchase the whole store and still have a very long wait till they offer to sell you a Birkin or Kelly. So it works out very expensive 3 even almost 4 times the price of the bag.😢
Unfortunately it is similar in Canada so I feel your pain! Only in Paris where you can get bag offers immediately with raffle appointments ands sometimes in Asia where bag offers are quicker at 1:1 spend.
Loved your comparison video! :) Interesting you mention the RG hardware tarnishing. Another youtuber mentioned the same issue on her H bag too which also had RG hardware and was relatively new. I wonder if the RG hardware is more prone to tarnishing.

Even if I want a Hermes and have the money, you can’t get it and Chanel knows that. So they increase the prices and bcs is easier to get compared to Hermes, people will buy the Chanel. If all they want is that luxury item and they don’t want to play the game without the security of getting the bag.
For me, my personal choice, will only be Hermes. I find Chanel to be kinda old fashioned - only my opinion😎

Hermes has a wide array of leather. Chanel is limited in leather variety. Hermes repairs vintage. Chanel refuses to fix certain bags above a certain age.
