Pete has demonstrated to me that he’s very genuine. He has a love for this industry and want to bring our community great cigars for great experiences. Love this interview. Learned a lot and his legacy will be heard from generations. Keep going Pete!! 🙌🏼🔥🔥🙌🏼
Continuing to enjoy we will Pete! Tatuaje is one of my favorite brand and if I had to take one cigar for life, it would like be the original brown label. It’s truly one of the best cigars on the planet. Much love Pete and to the My Fathery family!
Pete’s a freaking legend down to earth guy ! Excellent interview ! Pete’s take on blending development of his product makes me fall in love with his cigars over and over again!
Me and brother met Pete at cigar rights dinner in NYC many years ago. What a great guy.He was so passionate about what he was doing. Him and Pepin Garcia made a great combination. He told us the whole story and wanting to make a cigar that he wanted to smoke. Thanks for posting, great interview
Awesome piece. Thank you both for your time. My grandfather smoked a pipe, and like Pete said, the aroma is still in my brain. A buddy gave me a premium cigar in 1997. It was a little strong for my newbie palate, but I knew I wanted to experiment more. Huge fan of cigars produced by the Garcia family. Tatuaje is now on my radar.
Tatuaje is the brand I started my journey with three years ago because of all the rave reviews in the forums online and will always have a special place in my heart because of that, along with my father.
The Miami brown label in Noella is my absilute favorite daily smoke, its delicious every time. I haven't had a Tatuaje I didn't love. Don Pepín is a genius.
I have not had the opportunity to smoke a Tatauje. When I visit my Cigar shop next, I will make a point of picking up a few sticks. Enjoyed listening to PETE speak about his product. He sold me on giving it a try. Thank you for another quality listening experience.
Thankyou Holts, and Thankyou Pete Johnson. For me, this has been a very interesting interview because i am a regular pipe smoker (daily) and a cigar smoker occasionally. One of the things i enjoy about pipe smoking is trying both house blends (the tobacco blends that a traditional tobacconist mixes at their store) & private blends (the blends that a retail tobacconist has made under cantract with a pipe tobacco processor such as Lane, Sutliff or C&D) because unlike commercialy available brands which are sold at all tobacconist shops, these tobacco mixtures are available only at that specific Tobacconist. A few examples of this are; JM Boswell, Christie's House Of Pipes, LJ Piretti, Iwan Ries, Lewis Tobacconist & EA Carey. It's also a good way to help support the few traditional tobacconists that are to far away to visit, and then you can purchase the commercial brands from the local shop. So for me at least, it was interesting to find out that Pete used to blend pipe tobacco at a shop in Maine. I also want to give the moderator of Holts commentary a big thankyou for keeping these presentations educational instead of just rambling on about things, it's the reason i watch this broadcast.
I started with Bering cigars that I bought at the Base Exchange and still have a few empty boxes I use as junk drawers. And by the way, Paso Robles is my favorite wine region anywhere. I’m going to have to seek out his cigars and give them a try. Thanks so much for this and all your videos. It’s been a great education as I’ve just recently returned to enjoying cigars after a hiatus for a decade or more.
Maybe an unpopular opinion but for me and my cigar nerd friends the first brand I fell in love with back in 2006 was Tatuaje. I have to wonder if Tatuaje hadnt been a cult hit early on would MF be what they are today? Many came to MF because of Pete and their love for the cigars made by Pepin. Great interview.
Nice interview. Tatuaje is 1 of 2 brands I smoke that are non Cuban. not much else satisfies my taste buds. RE regulations. Leave it to the government to think that after 600 years of tobacco growing and usage that they need to come in and regulate things.
Anothony, Great video again ! What expression in particular is that Four Roses single barrel ? I do not recognize the label but is one of my favourite bourbons . Regards, JZ
I’m wanting to start my certification to be a tobacconist and then a cigar specialist, I believe a Cigar Sommeleir, and just become a specialist I guess is the term?I am wanting to start my own premium cigar company, too, so this is really encouraging and cool! I love these interviews! Also any help on achieving my goals would be great!
Highly doubtful. Otherwise it would be a common phenomenon (that Maz would likely have already addressed). My bet is that if cigars do this to you, other things do as well.
There would have to be extenuating circumstances. If that happens consistently to you it’s possible cigars just aren’t for you. It’s possible you have an allergic reaction to the tobacco.
@anthonymazzola4470 thank you anthony for the info love your videos and stay awsome😀 Update: I tried another cigar after I felt better to see if it happened agian and it didn't so thank you for the info and I'm glad I'm not Allergic to cigars! 😁
Make the brand more affordable. Just did a check on my aging cigars in one of my thermoelectrics that have been in there a few months (4...tops), and everything was perfect, EXCEPT the 2 boxes of J21s. They had mold. Waste of $700+. Put some cellophane on them, please? Help me protect my investment...especially at such a price
Is it me or is the cigar industry slowing down a bit. Kind of reached a plateau. Cigars can only be blended in so many ways and still be unique. But I could well be wrong.
Pete has demonstrated to me that he’s very genuine. He has a love for this industry and want to bring our community great cigars for great experiences. Love this interview. Learned a lot and his legacy will be heard from generations. Keep going Pete!! 🙌🏼🔥🔥🙌🏼
He is at the peak of his craft and still always so humble. Makes you want to support him.
💯

What a special interview! Loved hearing Petes story of how he entered the Cigar industry.
I've been saying this for awhile now. Hand Rolled NEEDS. NEEDS to do a piece on Don Jose Garcia in Spanish with English subtitles.
That would be a great interview

Great episode.
One of my favorites.

Tatuaje Black Label corona gorda is one of my all time favorites! Great interview.
Great interview! The brown label was the first cigar I truly loved.
I love the humble beginnings…

Amazing, inspirational, giving me the hope and strength to pursue my plans in cigar industry. Thank you.
Wow. Great interview. I’ve never comment but I’m definitely going to try more Tatuaje, I did enjoy the few I’ve had. Great job, Pete.

Another relaxing video. Like that you treat your guest with utmost respect! Never ordered from Holts but will try on my next order.
Awesome getting to learn so much !
Thank you.
Looking for that Tatuaje Reserva K222. I loved your interview with Janny as well and didn’t know they were married. These interviews are gold!
Love this. Honesty have never had one of his blends but I will make it a point to pick a few up!
Gotta order a few of these 🤘
Great interview!
Great content man! I really enjoy these interviews
Glad to hear it!
Beatiful - a real artist
I wish Pete would bring back the Escasos!
This guy makes awesome cigars.
Glad you agree 🙌🔥

Pete is one cool cat,💯
Nice interview
Beautiful.
Just wondering what the 4 Roses Single Barrel mashbill is…
What band?? What did u play?
What’s considered the best Tatuaje cigar?
As with any brand/cigar, that's for you to decide 😉
They are always fantastic
Can a cigar get you a sore throat and have nose congestion?
Highly doubtful. Otherwise it would be a common phenomenon (that Maz would likely have already addressed).
My bet is that if cigars do this to you, other things do as well.
Enjoyed that interview, Mazz. I haven't had a Tatuaje in a while, so I'm overdue.
There would have to be extenuating circumstances. If that happens consistently to you it’s possible cigars just aren’t for you. It’s possible you have an allergic reaction to the tobacco.

No way is it slowing down. Simply growing it in w different field would change the taste
Anthony i love you but thst guy is a tool. He isnt very liked for his comments in "handrolled" around here
The best part of a Tatuaje cigar is the name. Great interview.
GREAT CIGARS
