very helpful demo. I am just playing with a tracer in TIA Portal, wanting to monitor the cycles per seconds on a TIA Simulator. if I have more time I will tray the same on a real PLC 1200 series.
Thank you for ur video... I have 2 questions.. What is the different between tracing and trend? .. And how i can recall it or check it incase of laptop or pc not available?
In my experience trend is a general term for a chart in the HMI or SCADA to observe how the process value was changing in the last hour, day, 3 days etc. and the value is recorded every few seconds, every minute etc. (however not with a very high frequency), depending on the dynamic of the process. It is used by maintenance, operators and process engineers. Traces is a tool in TIA Portal which also records values, but it is set up temporarily and just used for debugging. It can record values with a very high frequency.
Thank you, awesome job, please carry on.

Very useful function. Thank you!
Can we put these traces on HMI if the signal is digital one?
Generally you can't put traces in the HMI. But you can observe digital signals (for debugging) in TIA Portal.
Thanks for good video!
HI Mate! Why is my "Add new trace" screen very different?
Can anyone please advise me on this one?
Cheers!
Hey, it looks different probably because you use a different version of TIA Portal. However, you should generally be able to find the same functions.
very fine, really pro
