I feel ya man. I was hoping. They just didn't go all the way in any of the plot points, and the gameplay was okay, but monotonous.
They could've done more with Tails' temporary regression to a meeker self since Sonic's seeming death. They could've done more with Sonic seeing as how they said he'd been tortured, but when he comes back he's completely fine. They could've done way more with Infinite as a character, but they made him a nobody who just got real sad and mad that Shadow beat him.
Infinite's powers were such a cool concept to play with too, but they just didn't do enough.

@@vision4860 If the entire game was the heroes going back to their old ways, Tails being shy, Knuckles only looking out for himself, etc. With the avatar being the only one willing to get stuff done. That would have been neat.
I also would have been completely ok with Sonic being out of the picture for the whole game, with the Avatar having to save him in the last few levels, with one of the last few levels being the Sonic Avatar team up stages.
That way Sonic himself could be a new game plus reward to play as in any of the Avatar stages, much like how Shadow is for any of the Sonic stages.
Basically Forces led me to believe it was going for a darker SatAM vibe, that didn't stick or land at all and that makes me sad.
I agree with you man, Shadow seems way more important to the plot than the game wants us to believe.

Everytime I hear this song, I can't help but humming along to the sonic forces lyrics someone mashed it up with.
Considering tee lopes did this games music AND the sonic forces theme; I wouldn't be surprised if they were one and the same.
